The Barcelona comment is a joke! They’ve got Busquets who is a serial cheater, they had Rivaldo (remember when he was playing for Brazil and pretended the ball hit him in the face? Oh yeah and they signed a player who likes to bite people.

    All conveniently forgotten about...

Bad enough to have the Scousers crying about it, can't believe so many on here have been so deeply affected.

You even have video proof of Salah and Ramos BOTH grabbing each other, yet people still want to focus on the edited 3 second video which shows Ramos falling awkwardly. Who doesn't fall awkwardly? It's falling over, not a gracious figure skating routine. Then there's video proof of Mane making contact with Ramos' face, but still Ramos is a scumbag and should be banned.

Seems that always being a victim is contagious.

Nah mate I just don't think there's a place in the sport for cheaters and thugs. Ramos knew what he was doing and there is nothing you can say that will convince me otherwise - I have seen the videos (the non edited ones) and saw it occur at the time and his reaction of smiling and joking afterwards. And I know the blokes form for this kind of thing which is long and well documented.

Luckily the actual victim Salah will hopefully not have his world cup ruined and we football fans will have the pleasure of seeing one of the form players in the world playing at the biggest tournament in the world. Of course the likelihood is he will not be 100% and the tournament will be the poorer for it - that will be on Ramos and that is why I am particularly offended by his actions.

Ramos meanwhile will carry on with impunity and we will just have to wait and see who he targets next at the world cup, maybe he'll nobble his Madrid team mate Ronaldo and take him out of the tourney in the first game? Wouldn't put it past him, either way I assure you we will be having this same conversation about him during the world cup, the thug is incapable of just playing the game and winning on ability - he'd much rather assault and cheat to get in front.

If that is your idea of football may I suggest you look into the WWE or MMA.
Do you believe Ramos intentionally dislocated Salah's shoulder, or just that it was a deliberate foul?
See my above post. He has form for this exact type of foul and it was clearly intentional - You would need to ask him about the intent but I believe he was just roughing him up and if he got injured that would be a bonus. He clearly wasn't handling Salah well up to that point in the match.
I read your above post, and we can all agree that the foul was intentional; I was just curious to see if you thought the intent was there to harm him.

If every player who roughed up the opposition or intentionally committed fouls was banned, we'd very quickly run out of people to watch on a Saturday.

Fair enough. You and Sam both suggested in your previous posts that Ramos fell over and suggested it was an accident with an "awkward landing". I contest that it was intentional and that is bared out in the literal exact same incident occurring with the same player the year before - that is why I was debating you in the first place.

Should he be banned? That's a different question entirely. I think there should be no place in the game for the kind of player Ramos is (I would say the same for Busquets Rivaldo etc who were also mentioned in the thread are equally thugs and cheats - I would include Ronaldo the winker in that group too) and I don't know how or why people can defend what these players have done/still do each week, but there has been plenty of defence/justification of it in this thread alone which baffles me.

Perhaps if we want to stamp out this kind of thing, somebody like Ramos needs to be made an example of. There are consequences to the kind of fouls and outright assaults this player and others commit on a weekly basis - Salah may miss the world cup, or at least not be fully fit for it which would mean the world cup is missing a stand out player and that in my opinion is wrong and bad for the tournament as a whole.

Did EXACTLY the same thing in last years final vs Dani Alves. Must just be a massive coincidence huh?

In that game he caught Karius on the head and tried to disguise that he hadn't. He also tried to get a player sent off using simulation. We can't prove that he meant to hurt Salah but it isn't an unreasonable conclusion given a) His past record and b) his behaviour during that specific game. If you take the Salah incident out, there is enough to punish him there.

Well done Ramos........anything to stop the scummy scousers

It's not surprising although I'm not sure why they're researching it because it won't change the result, nor will Ramos be warned about his future conduct. That elbow to his face didn't look enjoyable.

It's not ridiculous in the slightest. Some leading experts have ruled that the Liverpool goalkeeper was concussed and continued playing for half a match. That's a pretty serious issue. Concussion in football is always something that has been taken very lightly but it's a proper issue and needs to be seen that way.

Really don't think this is about Liverpool looking for excuses, but hopefully this will now mean the issue is taken a lot more seriously in the sport.

There is no way that contact was enough for Karrius to be concussed. Just an excuse

Surely the Liverpool medical staff should have realised? Surely Karius must have known something wasn’t right?

Absolutely they should have realised and that's an area football needs to improve massively.

In terms of Karius realizing, often when concussed you don't know it yourself. You need to be assessed and have your symptoms checked out. Also how many times in sport do you see people just want to carry on when they get an injury and refuse to go off. Karius may have just tried to be brave but again, that's an area where more education is needed as is incredibly dangerous.

Ridiculous comment. You do realise this isn't even Liverpool saying he was concussed. It is doctors in America who he was referred to.

Anyway despite that, concussion, and even worse, can come from the tiniest of head knocks. It's simply a case of football being so backwards when it comes to the matter of it that people are just ridiculing this.

It's become a huge topic in rugby and NFL in recent times (obviously more needed that football as head knocks much more prevalent there), but even cricket is taking it incredibly seriously these days with new laws introduced as of this season to help combat it.

So Karius made those mistakes because he was concussed, NOT because he's shit!!

Nothing's ever Liverpool's fault is it!!

So when Lloris got concussed in a PL game and the then Spurs manager Villas-Boas left him on, he was ruined in the media in the weeks afterwards.

I'm looking forward to seeing Klopp and his medical team get the same treatment.

I don't even rememeber Karius getting treatment for the knock.

Funny how John Henry (the Liverpool owner) is patron/trustee of the hospital in the US where Karius was supposedly tested.

    I'm calling bullshit.

I don't think anyone noticed the incident until about two days after the match was over? If Karius doesn't tell anyone and TV doesn't spot it, how can you expect Klopp to know it happened? If he knew about it and kept Karius on the pitch the yes, he should be fined/banned for a number of games.

It is a bit bizarre that it was missed given all the camera angles we have at top football matches these days.

If it had been noticed, it should've been dealt with.

He should have claimed concussion after the first goal - bet he wishes he had now. Imagine the conversation...

LK - “boss, I’m concussed, I’d never have made those mistakes otherwise”
JK - “yes you would, you’re shite”
    LK - “true dat”

It's interesting that afterwards Liverpool clearly suspected something was wrong, as they chose to send him to see the specialist.

It does suggest that the player shouldn't have been on the pitch, but as it wasn't a severe contact that would make the physio automatically check him out, it's most unlikely any player would voluntarily choose to be potentially subbed in the biggest game of their lives by raising the possibility either.
