Posted this pic previously on an earlier thread. However no apologies for reposting, as the fantastic organisation for this trip has rightly been compared to a military operation.
My dad and comrades in a liberated Belgium 1944.
That a good pic, it shows a Warrant Officers/Sergeants Mess group and a mixture of cap badges Artillery, Argyle's, Cameron Highlanders, Black Watch, KOSB and Gloucester's
Yes he was in the Royal Artillery. First as a regular -signed on for 6 years in April 1933. Demobbed April 1939 and then called up again on outbreak of war!
Here's a page from his Service/pay book and a Record Card if it is of any help.
Bet Roland panicked when he heard about pigs in Hasselt causing chaos today.
HASSELT - A truck loaded with 156 piglets Wednesday crashed on the E313 in Hasselt. The accident happened about half past one in the direction of Lummen. The trucker first pushed the verge, and it crashed into the guardrails. While the driver from his cab jumped tilted the colossus over the guardrail into a deep ditch. Several pigs ended up taking in a stream. In order to secure the rig trucks E313 became the completely closed overnight between Hasselt West and the cloverleaf of Lummen. Meanwhile, the truck has been lifted to a safe location. Currently, however still the last pigs that had escaped prison and discharged. Meanwhile, the highway is again completely cleared.
And if you are just putting money in to sponsor people please make sure it says sponsorship otherwise your name goes on the list of the attendees. I don't know what your real name is olster so I cant tell.
This is going to be very confusing.
Mr Dick put sponsorship on his so makes it nice and easy.
The club are putting on free coaches to Northampton now , wonder why
And free breakfast!
Whats all that about. Still, protest is working well already, so the club are having to pay the coaches and now free breakfast. I reckon sooner or later they'll be a raffle for a seat on the bench, sort of job share with RoJo, he never gets on either.
Charlton boss Karl Robinson has praised the club’s away support at Bolton Wanderers and has asked for the same again in our upcoming clash against Northampton Town on Saturday, March 4th.
It will be our first competitive game at Sixfields Stadium and with that in-mind the club requested and have received the maximum allocation of 1,430 tickets for the game.
In addition, for the third time this season the club will put on free coaches – having been in operation for our fixture at Bolton Wanderers and the upcoming game against Rochdale – and on this occasion supporters can also enjoy a free breakfast from The Valley.
I'm thinking of ringing up the ticket office tomorrow and ask to book the coach and a match ticket for the 4th March. Then as soon as they mention Northampton I'm gonna say is this not the right number for the Belgium trip?

Don't bother.
They left me a missed call today which I assume was about the Rochdale ticket I'd returned.
I rang back, said I'd had a missed call, the guy didn't know anything about it and said everyone else worked "upstairs".
Instead of contacting them whilst I was on the phone he told me to phone back and said he wouldn't answer so the people upstairs would have to answer instead.
They didn't answer and the call cut off after ringing for 4 minutes. Absolutely amateurish service.
Buffet with the Belgium20 confirmed , will walk in sober and respectable will leave drunken, shouting, foaming at the mouth 'We want Roland out , say we want Roland out'
