  • Renewing as my daughter has a wheelchair ST -can't really afford to lose the position. Next season will probably be my last if things continue.
Don't really want to go but my daughter hasn't given up yet.
The whole situation is a f***ing shambles - divisions in the club, supporters divided, mad owner and incompetent CEO.

You make it sound far better than it is ;)
  • I hope those sold are spread out aroud the ground, otherwise we'll be allowing them to sanction off parts of the ground and it'd start to get very cost effective for them.

1,000 still an awful lot - not sure how many put up with this.
  • This week around 2-250 each day have been sold. I suspect by Saturday close it'll be 2500-3000.
  • Anyone know how many had been sold this time last year?

Its a 90% loss! Pretty impressive really!
  • Surely they'll extend the price reduction... Do they seriously think that they'll sell more tickets by putting £25 on them.

That price hike should happen once a minimum amount of tickets have been sold!!

Agree with you. The source of the 1,000 figure is a WUM.
  • When exactly is the "deadline", is it 23:59 on Saturday?

I imagine a few people who aren't sure may only decide after talking to the people around them at the match tomorrow.
  • The online ticket office will stop taking season ticket sales from 5.15pm on Saturday.

That's a bloody joke as I dont get home from Football (so cant get online) until after 6pm!!

Still a piss poor show though.

Hence the earlier announcement they will take it offline at 5.15 is crass. Intended to bully, actually likely to lose sales.
A completely illogical deadline. In any normal organisation, you'd use the match itself to encourage people to go home and renew that evening or weekend, promotional leaflets on the seats, begging videos on the big screen with Charlton legends etc.

Indeed, you might as well have the online deadline as being tonight or 1pm tomorrow, if you're going to give people just 20 minutes after the game finishes!

It will be interesting to see how many of those have upped sticks and moved to the cheap seats in the covered end. That's losing at least £200 for every seat they sell.

Does anybody know what their (hopelessly optimistic) sales target is?

There are 2,270 seats still available to buy in the lower north online, which means the maximum that have been sold as 16/17 STs in that area is 1,130 out of 3,400.

In practice some of those 1,130 will be be held by existing holders who have not renewed, so I doubt if they've sold more than 750 in there in total.

  • Maybe everyone is renewing today. Which is is why I can't get through to the ticket office by phone to order tickets for tomorrow.

Any idea what they would normally have expected to sell by now? For example, how many had been sold in our first League One season?

    From the OS.

"Fans should be aware that all season tickets not renewed by Saturday’s deadline will be released and placed on general sale, with prices increasing by £25".

Am I nitpicking or does that not really make sense? After all, you don't release a season ticket but a seat.

Anyway, we'll see if they really do stick to their guns..

It's ok mate I expect that's Palarse reject Mandy doing her best with the attempt at a veiled threat  .

Yep. Apparently it's manic today with season ticket renewals.

Wonder who made this decision given Squirrel Face is topping up her tan? Or did she leave instructions with staff before she went (without actually mentioning to them she was off for 10 days)
  • All of those who decide not to renew but to turn up on the day will have the fun of a new match-day experience. Turn up in good time ... join queue which is not too long but is for one - two if you are lucky - open windows. Then wait. Because it seems to take several minutes to deal with each 'customer'. You also get the personal touch of being asked exactly where you would like to sit. Some people debate this before making the selection, only realising when they get into the stand that they can pretty much sit anywhere as it's two-thirds empty.

But, if even a few hundred who were ST holders become pay-on-the-day fans, expect chaos in Harvey Gardens.

This is definitely a problem ...those who have a disabled parking place will lose it if they do not renew and, as there is a waiting list, run the risk of not getting the spot back if they wait too long or the club is vindictive.

For those who have renewed, hopefully it will encourage you that the Royal Mail problems of previous times are hopefully now in the past...

Very disappointed if that's the true number however
