A friend of mine is one of the heads of the Iceland national team supporters club and they have their own supporters shirts with a number 12 on it. The 12 is for 12th man!
The 12th man is crucial a la the latest statement ... lets remind them of this and the collective fans are the soul, history, bedrock and foundation of our club. Give them the old 'one two' !
Yes I'd buy that. Anything anti-club at the moment. Hoping someone can make it happen. How about a few choices posted up and quick poll for one shirt to get made up. Great ideas already.
Early stages guys, we will get this rolling Im sure, just bear with us as we put a team together. We have to get this 100% right to be effective in every way.
I'd be more inclined to buy a "home" red and white version for my boys , although saying that I'll buy anything as long as it isn't like a palace or milllwall kit (this seasons white palace/Peru number was the first in a few years that wasn't purchased due to its look)
Agree with Ooh Ahh. Red and white better. The anti stance is all over it anyway and it competes better with whatever the Regime bring out. Hopefully we won`t need to do anything because they will be gone

I wear a black & white scarf these days & have stopped wearing my Charlton shirt, now IF there was a black & white shirt.............that would be a different matter. I like the 82/83 shirt but in B&W plus the B&W theme would match my black CAFC coat !!
Apologies not had time to read through this thread but if thinking of producing our own shirt how about the style that we used in the early /mid sixties White shirt with a red (or black) flash across the shoulders ?
Count me in. For the rest of this season I'm sporting the last pre-roland white with black trim away shirt. For what it's worth I think black & white stripes or even hoops will be most striking.
I'm not in a position to fund such a thing but I wouldn't mind betting that one of the current crop of disillusioned former club sponsors/fan owned businesses could see their way to becoming this shirt's sponsor.
I think it should be red to show support to the team and be as close to the actual official one as we can but from any other supplier than Nike. This will make it popular to all. Seeing so many customers buying someone else's product will naff of both supplier and club.

I understand showing support to the team but if it's to be red what will be the point of Black & white scarves ?
If the objective is to hit the sales of official merchandise it has to be something that looks like official merchandise rather than a protest. A nod to the protest needs to be there, but subtle. Think it would be a mistake if anything other than traditional, so must be red and white.

But the point isn't intended to be subtle is it?
Black with White trim/piping matches C.A.R.D. The players apparently know we're not, not supporting them.
I'm collating prices to have the kits manufactured at the moment, its going to be cheaper for us to manufacture a shirt than buy something off shelf from one of the leading suppliers. We will get some samples made prior to production. The shirts will be very reasonably priced if we go the route I'm suggesting.
Some questions for you.
1. Would you like to see a printed logo on the shirt? (Like the photo)Bear in mind we will have to go with our own design (a whole new other subject) or would you pay more and want an embroidered logo? Just bear in mind a well printed logo will look smart, but an embroidered one will of course be a whole lot more classy. Im easy either way.
2. Would you like the option of a home and an away shirt? The away shirt would allow us to do a black shirt perhaps with a white chest band (or red and white) ala the 1996 ish Charlton Germany style away kit in reverse (see photo). This of course in tribute to the spell it out in black and white boys for their hard work. I assume that black and white stripes arent what people will want. The black shirt could have a collar which I think a lot of people seem to like...ala the promotion season under CP
Im working on some rough drafts of an alternative emblem, but of course anyone is welcome to chip in with a design, I know we have lots of designers here. Getting the logo right is vitally important, but we wont be able to satisfy everyone.
But for clarity so I can progress things can you comment on items one and two. Just keep the answers simple for clarity and try to avoid debate if you can, Im just trying to get a majority feel for what you want.....thanks
I raised a couple of ideas on another thread but thought maybe a thread of its own might raise some interest. The second point is more relevant and as someone on the other thread pointed out, Newcastle did something similiar, using the city coat of arms and deleting the Wonga advertising on their replica shirts.
Here is the original post. If there is enough interest, I'd be happy to do the research and help make it happen. Over to you. I know we have some very creative kit designer guys here, so maybe this will take off.
Just bunging out some ideas, didnt know where would be appropriate so here they are.
1. One thing that stood out for me in all the coverage was the black and white scarfs.....I think when we finally get a decent new owner we should propose that all future away kits should be black and white as a tribute to the fans for fighting this ridiculous regime.
2. It Might also be a good idea to get some replica kits made up of our own for next season in Black and white stripes to aid the boycotting of sales in the club shop. Might be a decent take up and a collectors item for the future.
I'd mentioned this a while back and quite a few were interested. As we can get the same kit template as the club as we only use Nike Templates a season late. Then we can also see if there's a possibility of getting sponsorship from the same sponsor for a small price (maybe not...) And use just a sword on it with maybe a card badge somewhere.

1. Embroidered logo, definitely.
2. The 94-96 away shirt is a great idea as it is a distinctive design and has a link to part of that history that RD isn't bothered by.
(As an aside, the design for the 94-96 away was nicked from an AC Milan away shirt from the season before)

Or we could try contacting the main shirt suppliers telling them what we are doing and asking if they would do a discount rate, it would be good PR for them. Doubt they would though as they may fear copycat incidents by the supporters of clubs they supply.

Yep I hear what youre saying but it need to be different enough to be noticed so personally I think our shirt(s) need to be our own conception. But nothing at all is set in stone.
