Yeah Im not looking to get a cheapy knock off shirt quality. Im talking to suppliers now about the material...I think something like the Dri fit from Nike will be good.
  • Girlfriend recently found and forked out for the 88/89 away shirt. Along with the 86 home my favourite all time kit.

    She's probably a keeper...

Can she defend corners and free kicks ?

If she's a keeper that struggles with crosses, you might want to try a Registry Office....

If she's a keeper that struggles with crosses check to make sure she isn't nick Pope.

Just in case you're not aware, the Adidas equivalent is ClimaCool.

Could we put some Charlton heroes on the shirt, Bartram, Seed, Summers, Hales, Gritt, Curbs, Powell, Rufus etc...

    Really good idea.

Il buy the shirt, what ever the design... Just as long as it doesn't have a name on. I'm 33, not 13

This is a very BIG idea, I love it. If we can get the price right, make sure that we make it distinctive in other words not a red shirt with CARD on it. Create a sea of shirts that everyone will immediately recognise, perhaps with' Roland out ' on the back, we could gain continuing publicity and recognition and us old geezers can pass it down through the families as a warning and example to future FANS.

Regarding the above, I know a couple who are themselves terrific supporters of the Club, and who run a sports business based upon Cricket. They might be structured to handle holding stock and distributing it. If you are approaching a result here, let me know and I will speak to them.

Would it be worthwhile contacting Andrews now they stated they are not renewing their official sponsorship?

    Good shout Mark,
I think they'd consider it too.

Quote from CAFC site regarding reduction in shirt prices:

"Adult jersey now start at £26.40 and juniors at £21.60 and the offer is open to all supporters, while stocks last."

Something tells me you wont have to rush guys......chances of them selling out....2% ?

Sponsorship is up for debate in the group that's been formed for the shirt design and development, as yet there is no dialogue on sponsors, but keep the suggestions coming.

I'm in Tel for a home and away. I like the ideas put forward of red & white and black and white for home and away but I'll go with anything. Interested to see how many are sold out of the UK, so far I guess its 4 in Oz :)

I think a replica shirt should replicate the official players shirt as much as possible. The difference should be subtle. Maybe just CARD below the sword with both in black. Maybe the number 12 on the back as the twelth man as suggested by others.
Kids will want a shirt in their teams colour. Black is for ref's.

The sword in that (curly handle) design is a symbol of London. Not copywrited.

Years ago, following on from a good night out we ended up in a south of the river pub that the others regularly frequented but I'd never been to before to round the evening off. when I got home I only needed to remove one of my 'City of London' cuff links because I'd clearly lost one at some stage during the evening and not noticed. About a week later it made its way back to me from the pub because they thought it was a 'Charlton' cuff link and narrowed it down to being mine.

An alternative shirt could look good with the card logo on the right 'breast' and left!image

You could always nod to the past with the shield superimposed on the sword...

Not that I have a clue about these things.

  • Just a thought. Is "REAL CHARLTON" a name that could be used for the logo? If so, would it have market appeal?

I'll be buying one of whatever finally comes to market regardless.

Keep the ideas coming please, they are much appreciated.
  • With the potential for a breakaway by fans altogether the way things are going perhaps the shirts should be for AFC Charlton (and a suitable company of that named formed), red shirts and a sword logo to recognise that a lot of fans work in the City of London and are wannabe crusaders for football causes ?
  • If the Robin perched atop a ball is to be used in the crest, please make it a black and white beach one!

I like this. Also a subtle message to RD / KM that there is an alternative. I'm sure even with slow renewal numbers that they assume we will all give in and renew in bulk a few weeks before the season starts.

Sorry Redrobo, if you make it similar to the real thing it will be lost amongst the red shirts. It must stand out when looking at the crowd live, or on TV. It needs to be immediately recognisable, and will become something you always retain to prove the power of 'customers'. GO CARD
