Everyone is a manager and everyone is a master tactician on this forum - okay I understand peoples anger and frustration and the interim manager/manager/head coach is a good focal point......but please dissecting every utterance with a fine tooth comb or whatever from a man speaking in a second language and trying not to get in the shit from his paymaster is a pointless occupation when the real pressure and critism should be directed at those who have put us in this position and please let's not have a rerun of all the bollocks about him being the had recruitment guru or suchlike put about by others who ought to know better.
He is an integral part of the RD circus, so he can fuck right off & I will boo him loudly on every appropriate occasion, until he does.
This is a genuine question. What exactly impressed you when you talked to Fraeye? Can you be sure that you would not have been equally impressed if you had met the 4 previous managers for a similar chat?
I recall that a couple of Lifers were "impressed" with him when they met him doing his job in the stands under the last Powell months. I guess he is a personable guy who is ok talking one to one with fans. Many good managers are not.
Ithe question I'd ask KM is, what is it that Fraeye does better than the previous four, that means he should not be sacked when they were? Patently, the answer is not "winning more football matches than them"
Since KM currently does not wish to answer the question, would you like to have a go?
Prague, I understand that you are saying that because someone impresses one that that does not mean they will be good at their job. I have obviously not met the previous 4 managers but one would not have to meet Chris Powell to be impressed but then he is an exceptional man. On a personal level Karel Fraeye impressed me with his enthusiasm for the game, his obvious zeal to succeed with Charlton and his views on the squad which were much in line with mine but with most interesting and illuminating insights (which will remain confidential). On top of this he is a very friendly and has an engaging personality. I have little idea like all of us as to what goes on in KM’s mind…… The reasons the previous managers were sacked are open to question but you asked me a question and I will give you my interpretation. So I would say that whoever is really in charge of team management affairs (cannot really believe it is KM is any meaningful way) is impressed by Karel’s persona, his assessment of the squad and his ability to see the real value of the staff (hence the promotion of Jason and JJ becoming more prominent) who is good for the team and who should leave etc. He tries different options on the pitch but is of course hampered by who is available. He has brought players back from their loan periods because they are good for the squad and has brought to the first team young players like Lookman that are ready for the first team (although they have been used more than he would prefer because of the small squad). He knew many weeks before that English championship players were needed to bolster the squad and perhaps the penny has now dropped and he/she/they agree with him……..He is a very hard worker! So this is my opinion and I also think that he will get us out of the current mess with the reinforcements that he and Jason have targeted but if RD does not change tactics/visions then the problem will occur again.
Desperate, I see you make no appraisal of Fraeye's coaching ability.
I too could impress you with my enthusiasm for the game. I have more zeal for Charlton to succeed than Fraeye could ever have. I could probably give you a lot of insights into the squad and I am very friendly.
So anyway, back to the point.
Where are Fraeye's coaching credentials ?
Please can you enlighten us, as to why this brown noser from a semi professional Belgian club, that rank lower than Welling or Bromley, should be appointed to Charlton above a proper manager with Championship experience, other than the fact that he will do as he is told, which is not an acceptable coaching qualification ?

Credit to him for being fluent in a second language and by all accounts being a decent man. But he is fluent enough to know what he says and too much of it is crap (of the sort not fed to him by Roland, that's reserved for Katrien). His management skills are inadequate, as he must have appreciated when appointed, and he knew he was coming into a club with resentment against the owners and, by association, most things Belgian. And so,m decent or not, he has put himself in the firing line and failed miserably to show he has what it takes.
I would love to think he is pressed on the nature of the protests even though he will be evasive.
If his line is that protests don't help the players compared with whole hearted support, then he might be asked why he thinks fans are protesting so strongly.
Will he say he doesn't know? Will he repeat something that amounts to us ungrateful sods moaning because we're not getting what we want? Will he refer it all on to Katrien?
They are re-organising Belgian football as of next season. There will be 2 pro leagues, currently referred to as Professional 1A and Professional 1B, then the third tier will be First Class Amateurs (FCA*). Fraeye's old club, Hamme, will not get into FCA unless they pull their fingers out. They will need to finish at least 6th in their league to get into play-offs for FCA.
What lies beneath FCA level, I don't know, but that appears to be KF's true level.
* 'Eerste klasse amateurs' is the Dutch term very literally translated as FCA.

and rightly so!

KF convinced Katrien that he's the next Anal Koc..
# Meet the new Koc
# Same as the old Koc
I am impressed that the picture at the Valley clearly shows he has recruited Bobby Charlton as part of his backroom staff.
Fair dos to the man I say..

P.S.
Will he explain the Bauer injury?
Welling is where I will be watching my Football next season.
