  • Why did the club see fit to have a steward filming the whole thing? Are they planning to ban anyone who decided to attend?

Chanting 'she's got chlamydia' is just disgusting. I am so disappointed. It doesn't achieve anything apart from making the protest easily dismissed.

And that was the point I walked away. Belgiums wankers is bad enough, but this is way over the line. No more car park protests for me,

Me too. I don't want anything to do with protests like that.
The black and white protest i am behind 100%, singing shit abusive songs about Katrien and Belgians you can go do one you idiots, thought Charlton fans were more classy than that.
Obviously were not around in the days of the Valley party and the great effort to get us back to the Valley by communicating and protesting in the correct manor.
  • Agree that protesting each week will have little effect and think the interest will continue to fall unless it's properly coordinated.

Some of today's chants overstepped the mark but it's also hard to defend KM's actions. Granted it appears she entertains our opponents executives at a table overlooking the car park but it was clear she positioned herself for all to be seen yet again. I don't know why she does it as if things continue to get worse on the pitch, I can seen things turning far nastier and physically violent at future protests.
  • Lol at physically violent....... is Duncan Norvelle coming to the next protest?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRt-58mwfQo

Its a football crowd and there is regularly strong language. The clamydia chants in particular don't help anything. A bit more discipline in the chanting would help. Not sure why protests would be nastier or physically violent. There's no evidence for that.

The drivers for the protests are going to remain, which is a very thin and weak squad and poorly executed business and football decisions. The protests need to hold things together and be coherent, as the next time things take a serious nose dive, there will be more supporters but they are not going to join in, if the protest is a disorganised rabble.

I was in the que for a ticket whilst the protest was going on and am generally for the protests. Few points.....

    1) Lot less people taking part than last time....
2)Stupid anti Belgium and about Katrien being female chants were by the majority.
    3) Cellino was outside having his photo taken and talking to people and the protesters started a chant of "You're shagging Katrien" To which, to his credit maybe, he shouted out "I wish".

.... Oh and the Leeds Chairman from 1000 miles away has been to more games at the Valley this season than our Chairman from 200 miles away.
  • If there was any doubt about whether the protesters sang the Chlamydia song then listen to what they were singing when Leeds Chairman , Massimo Cellino , was kicking off outside the main entrance.

    Disgusting

One person or one thousand people, a noise is a noise. Keep it up every game, if you did not care you would not be outside there. Fair play to everyone of you.
  • So while a good few of the Charlton protesters are chanting 'you've got Chlamydia' somehow Katrien is behaving outrageously by sitting in view of the supporters and dare I say it 'smiling'……..

  • I had a wander by and it looked pretty pathetic

Support the team not the regime
  • Are we talking about 1-2 youngsters thinking they are being funny with that chant, and it not taking off in anyway, or are we talking about about a large group of people chanting it? Personally would be very surprised if the latter, and if it is the former than its really not worth the headlines.

This always Had a risk of flopping I thought. It's easy for wind ups / anons to post on Twitter 'car park 2.30 Saturday' midweek and start the rumour chain going, but unless you have actual real people involved or some degree of attempted organisation trying to drive something, there is always that nagging doubt.

Whether it was 30 people or 300 or 3,000, sounds like Katrien was once again purposely standing in front of the glass window, laughing away with Leeds delegates, and sticking the proverbial two fingers up to Charlton fans.

    Her arrogance is astounding

You can do both. Hence not spending a penny in the ground bar my season ticket. Small pickings.

Unfortunately, despite me hating having to say it, it was the latter and the chants were both pathetic and by the majority.

    Just to say about KM...

A relative (who doesn't have much of a clue about what is going on with the club unless I tell her) messaged me as she walked past the protest to go into the ground and said KM "waved condescendingly to the protestors" and it was "intentional, the look on her face was gleeful"

Doesn't excuse some of the disgusting chants but KM still isn't doing herself any favours, and that is from a supporter who isn't even taking part in any of the protests and is fairly ambivalent about what is going on.
  • I went to the protest today but whilst I support the black and white campaign and even bought the scarf today I was disappointed to see that all we got was a load of abusive songs and nothing about more fan involvement in the club so I wont be going again. Shame.
  • Real shame, chants like those do nothing but damage to the cause.
  • Still approx 2% of the Charlton fans in attendance were at the protest. (8000 x 2% = 160)
  • What was Cellino saying?

Sorry to pick you up on your figures but there was probably less than 30 protesting ( singing anyway ) and definitely more than 8,000 home fans probably more like 11,000.
I can't be arsed to work those percentages out.

The 2% comment from Meire is pathetic. Obviously far more than 2% are unhappy about the goings on. There was more than 30 protesting though less than the Sheff Weds game. The clamida chanting is wrong. It is also misguided as it allows those not supportive of the protest to go on about it and deflect from the dysfunctional way the club is being run.
  • The official attendance was 15900 take way 3000 Leeds Fans and the average non attendance of 3000 of ST holders = 9900 maxinum.
  • I'm chlamydia free. (Status correct as of my last test Dec 2012.)

It's now time to get the ground filled with everyone wearing black n white. Let's do our bit to get behind the team and make our point at the end of the season by not renewing our season tickets

I'm in the East - near the North Stand. I haven't seen another person with a black and white scarf on and people were giving me funny looks at mine.

I protested but was disappointed with the turn out. I asked people who I sit next to in the ground and they didn't protest as they see no point, it wont have any effect etc. Apathy. I don't think some of the chants helped our cause at all today.

And another thing! I'm sick of bloody kids being invited to the Valley. They sit just in front of me and don't watch the match, just keep going in and out and wont sit still. Drives me feckin mad. that's why I never had any. Thank god for contraception.
Well, me and Davo junior are in the East stand block g and we're both wearing our black and white scarves @Arsenetatters. Will you be there on Tuesday? I'll come and say hello.

9,000 home fans today - from an official source

Airman, honest question. How important is matchday income to Roland? Will he be bothered by falling attendance?
  • I was in the reception as I was waiting to be escorted up the lift to the West Upper by someone and I saw Katrien greeting a group of Nigerians.

She seemed very thick skinned or trying to put on a brave face. I wanted to go and talk to her to air my view on the situation but I was worried security may have prevented me from doing that.

Can someone explain why we are protesting and what the end goal is? Genuine question, so go easy on me.
  • The end goal is for things to change. However different people have different opinions on what that change should be. It ranges from Roland and Co. to sell up and go, to others wanting to see wiser investment.
