KF on Brink?

Typical Daily Mail. A throwaway comment, no quotes, no source (named or not), no evidence. If this was happening why would that 'newspaper' know ahead of anyone else?

Didn't they break the news when RD bought the club?

  • I don't believe it at all. But if it is true then lets hope we get dealt a thrashing on Saturday.
  • Of course Pearson would also have to demonstrate that he has the ability to spend big money on a player from obscurity who will ultimately become an asset - like Polish Pete Jamie Vardy for example.
  • Believe it when I see it to be honest; however, Justin Edinburgh seems to be doing fine. Too inexperienced?
  • In work Manager - Nigel Adkins

Out of work Manager - Paul Lambert or Nigel Pearson
  • So what if KF manages to get a win against the Wendies tomorrow? Will this manager plan be shelved? Just how many games does Fraeye have and what criteria are used to judge him? This is the problem with having an interim manager - and why no-one else does it.
  • Justin Edinburgh has not managed in the Championship so that Daily Mail story presumably doesn't mean him.
  • Surely an "interim" manager is always on the brink ?

Of course. Mind you next season it could be a step down for him.

    I hope you're wrong too.

I'd rather keep Fraeye, just hope you are wrong
  • At least if its Lee Clark we'll be on a 50 match unbeaten run
  • There's only one man for this job. Get Lennie back.
  • At the moment we are a basket case and possibly RD knows it. Therefore, perhaps his Out strategy includes getting in a British manager to recover the club's name somewhat before getting the best sale price ?
  • The thing that bugs me is it won't just be about a new manager. I said elsewhere that someone like Ferguson could probably only stop the rot but would still struggle to get us winning.

There are so many players not up to it I feel. Personally I reckon we need 10 new players. Whoever RD brings in, whether or not they're British I can't see him having a change of heart and suddenly opening up his Wallet to bring in what's needed. So many of our team have been found wanting in recent weeks, and I don't think it's just down to the situation
  • What about the sofa? Do they mention that poxy, bloody sofa?
  • I'm convinced that tomorrow is Fraeye's last game win, lose or draw and that by Monday evening latest we will have a British manager in place, one with Championship experience.

With a name like Mackey or McCain or McKay...
  • I don't believe it at all. But if it is true then lets hope we get dealt a thrashing on Saturday.

F*** that I want 3 points no matter what. Relegation could seriously harm the club in more than just ticket sales.

    Ronald MacDonald?
  • I don't believe it as it's the Mail, and there are no quotes, but I hope it's true. The club needs a complete change of direction. Removing the pointless Carole Frey won't see us to safety yet, but bringing in a decent manager with a good track record, and letting him decide his squad with minimal control from Spectre in Belgium, would go a long way.
The rot goes deep. KM needs to go as well. We could do with a CEO who understands football, not someone who treats us to a selection of gimmicks and foolishness while the team disintegrate. I don't even want Carole doing that, as I believe our signings policy comes from his scouting, so he's not even qualified to do that, but there are people out there who could work with a good manager, and set up a valid scouting system. There'll be no hip hip hoorays from me just by changing manager again, but until we do, we're going nowhere but down.
  • Lambert as manager (not head coach) would be the best possible outcome IMHO. Did a fantastic job at Norwich. At Villa the dice were loaded against him.

Alas I can't see RD abandoning his mistaken beliefs so quickly and easily.

I think 10 players is perhaps a bit on the severe side. I honestly believe player for player we have a first 11 that should compete for top 10 easily.

Watt, Makeinok, Vetokele, Cousins, Kashi, Solly, Henderson, Gudmundsson, Bauer, Diarra have all got decent pedigree, and are all great players when playing with confidence. Fox, Reza <3, Aherne-Grant, Jackson, can also be very solid squad players at this level. I feel we are probably missing a couple of wingers (Bulot I miss you), and a creative midfielder (we have done for many years).

I think a combination of not building a strong enough squad, and poor coaching is what has left us in this debacle. Our players just do not seem fit enough to press the ball, and when we have the ball we do not know how to move the ball forwards with pace.
  • I think we are missing some competition at fullback, some more width and also the team could do with an experienced campaigner in the middle of the midfield. Somebody a bit more aggressive than JJ and about 4/5 years younger than him.
  • Gareth Ainsworth
  • Don't believe he is on the brink at all. At least not yet.
  • So are we likely to hear sacked in the morning ringing around the valley tomorrow?
