Proper CF play inside the box. He pulls away to the far post for the deep cross, and then makes the odd run into the near post area to lose his marker, as on the first goal yesterday, Championship Defenders will have a real problem with him. He's showing signs of picking up the pace of the Championship now and certainly not the "effing useless lump", the numpty behind me kept shouting at Derby last week. I dunno if he was expecting Ibrahimovic?
I loved the chase back and sliding tackle during the second half. Team player.
I forgot about that until now, might go and edit my player rating just for that. That was an unbelievable challenge for an enormous centre forward
Anybody still slagging him off based on his contribution so far clearly do not understand football.
I love the guy - think he is a real unique player that will get a big reputation in this league because he stands out in so many ways.
He's not the sort of player whose every touch is going to be crisp, but he's a player who contributes for big moments. Nobody else in our side will win a header like that in the last minute to set up a goal. For that alone he will be worth his height in gold.
Missed the game but sounds like he had a stormer. I questioned if we can carry a non-scoring striker but with a goal and assist yesterday + assists in other games, I think he's answered me in the best possible way. Keep going big guy.
I used to like Carl Leaburn, He took a lot of stick for his lack of goals, but he gave 100% every game, both in defence and up front. Leaburn may not have been prolific in front of goal but he did a lot of donkey work for others, many many assists.
I think he gets the ball in uncomfortable positions when in the past no one would have been there at all. We shouldn't complain if the link doesn't work every time. 50-60% of something is a lot better than nothing.
Also I must be watching from a different angle to others sometimes. He looks tall but he really seems to have a good competent touch with his feet.
Like many big men, his standing jump is not that great and so people are upset he doesn't win as much against people shrimpy in comparison, I reckon this is the area of his game we should be working on.
His reaction to scoring was fantastic, so pumped. Like oohahh, Hoping for at least 10 more in the league, excluding pens, before Christmas

Exactly Tom. Also I look at someone like Nuihu at Wednesday and think despite being a similar height, Nuihu looks like a bumbling oaf whereas Mak's frame is more athletic. Without wanting to sound like I have been paying it too much attention, Mak's legs are proper muscular. It's very hard for anybody to grow the quad and and hamstring, takes a lot of work, especially taller people. Mak has an athletic build compared to say a Crouch who is just lanky.
You have to take into account the dummy for Watt's goal against QPR, the lay off for JBG's cross for the first goal and subsequent deft headed finish and then the brilliant lay down for JBG's finish. That's 3 goals he's played a part in through scoring/assisting out of 5 we've scored.
People can write him off for a couple of good chances missed against Forest but the stats don't lie here. 60% contribution to our goals. His confidence will grow, and he's technically good enough IMO

I was quite impressed by their striker (tall blonde fella, Makienok (?)). He bossed literally everything in the air, scored their first and assisted the second.
Your Wrong Cables ? Simon have a 100% contribution to our goals. The fantastic dummy for Tony's goal. QPR The fancy footwork started the move with Watt passing to Fox. QPR. The lay back for Tony's goal (Derby) The goal he scored, he did the pass to JBH and them got on the end of it. (Hull) The head down which JBH headed in. (Hull)
I agree that he,s the most mobile giant striker around.
Maybe I misunderstood but when he scored I thought his biggest reaction was when his name was read out over the tannoy and he got a massive cheer from us all. I hate marmite but makienok looks like we may regret only having a year loan unless we have options.

I wasn't at Derby so only saw it on TV. My mistake. I was just keen to point out that statistically an argument can be made. Too many getting drawn into this bad touch argument and Forest misses. To be fair a lot of people who had slated him have said they were wrong, so that's good as well
I just hope that we have a fee agreed and first refusal from Palermo and if possible I'd tie the deal up now.
I think it was mentioned that we had some form of buying option built in to the loan.
Judging by his wife, Palermo treated him poorly throughout a really tough time in his life so I can't see him wanting to go back nor can I see Palermo being particularly bothered.
It's still perhaps too early to think about buying him and so on - but if he can take a confidence boost from Saturday, know the fans appear to be getting behind him and he can play like we we've seen at times so far.. then I'd definitely go for it.
I don't really want to much pressure on the guy, I imagine his confident was shot to absolute pieces after his previous season and his head must've been in a mess too. I'm pretty sure he's a good player that can really add something different to our attack though.
His tweet after the Forest match was quality too - talking about how frustrated and disappointed he was with only a draw. The guy has played 4 games for us and already seems to play with a lot of heart. I can't fault him really.
Seeing the polar opposite views of Mrs Mak to being at CAFC, compared to the effing and Jeffing towards the Palermo Fans and Management i would say that if the Majority of fans at CAFC keep the faith we could have ourselves a Bona fide Target man who wants to be here.
He is gonna surprise a lot and actually score a hatful this year ... TWWW ... The Viking ... And Verts ... You watch we are not going to be able to find a scapegoat this season ... We will try ... But we will fail ... 40 goals between those three ...
We need to score 80 Plus goals this season if we have serious serious ambitions, we need a positive goal difference, if we want to finish in the top 10.
JBG - 15 goals Big Mak - 11 goals Tony Watt Watt Watt - 17 goals Igor - 15 goals Bergdich - 6 goals Bauer - 5 goals KAG - 5 goals BA - 7 goals Kashi - 2 goals Fox - 3 goal Solly - 2 goals Jackson - 3 goals Jan signing striker - 6 goals
= 96 goals
I'm also doing the Euromillions next weekend, I'll let you know how I get on...
Given how well he controlled the ball both for the goal and the assist he would thrive on quality crosses.
Mostly has to cope with straight balls down the middle and we are not really set up for getting behind the back four too often. JBG cross with his wrong foot best cross I've seen from him.
