He was everything you want in a striker today, aggresive, assertive, willing to run channels, willing to get in the mix and finished with style on both occasions

thing is that aggression got lost somewhere along with his confidence in the last few months.
If it is back then expect some goals and some sending offs.
Just keep you hands away from your ears mate - let your football do the talking. Hands behind cupped ears never ends well - take my word for it.
If the crowd are giving it then he has every right to give it back. Well done Mak
But he looked like he was giving it to our fans after the first. Was he?
Yes, don't blame him after some of the sarcastic jeering he has had to put up with.
Bollocks to that.
If you'd been up to Huddersfield and Hull I would think you'd have every right top be calling the players every name under the sun.
Shame he couldn't just appreciate the moment with the hardy souls that travelled up there. They aint the enemy. They don't need goading. Poor form, if that's indeed what he was doing.
Mate, give it a rest! I think most fans would agree that on average he gets more stick than any other player in the team! The jeers he got against Ipswich were disgraceful (that does not mean I condone his level of performance). Each time though...he has come back and scored important goals (to be fair) and has also made some important assists!
I for one, really hope he kicks on from today and proves all the doubters wrong!fair play to him for cupping his ears,he believes in his ability, that's why he did it!nothing wrong with that in my eyes!

After the shit he has taken, cupping his ears is the least I expected. Good on hIm, maybe we fans can stop destroying players. Now he has had his say he needs to let it go, but good on you Mak.
I liked Mak when he first arrived. I somehow felt he was going to be a fans favourite. Theres no doubt he has struggled along with a lot of others in the team. Bergdich has been castigated and written off along with Mak and Sarr but I have always felt that there was something wrong with that.
I can only conclude that Luzon and then Fraeye sucked the confidence out of these players. I don't know why but even stalwarts like Solly have looked out of sorts.
Riga brought confidence to players a couple of seasons back. Harriot has had his best spell as a player under Jose. If Riga can get the good players we know we have playing well and give a second chance to the likes of Bergdich, Sarr and Ba then we can battle our way out of the bottom three.

Give what a rest? What am I supposed to be resting?
We hold different views. Fair enough. No big deal.

To be fair he hardly figured in either of those games
Players like big mak , Bergdich etc are not crap players, they might not have hit the ground running. Give them time, maybe a bit of patience and they will come good, remember Simon Francis?

I unfortunately wasn't there today - however I thought he was giving it to the Rotherham fans personally.

But that wasn't what I was saying. It's not about him - the fans that travelled deserved better. Oh well. No big deal.
I think football fans get very precious at times. It's ok to single out a player to jeer, boo and abuse but as soon as that player turns the tables and gives it back we get all this shite about the fans deserve better. Do they bollocks. Players give poor performances and perhaps its they that deserve better than to be jeered when they are struggling. Works both ways don't you think ?

Well done big man.
If that's aimed at me then yes I would agree.
But then I don't boo or jeer players - well, apart from Kim Grant THAT time. I don't agree with it because I don't think it's particularly constructive or helpful. But I understand that some people feel differently.
So, by the same chalk I don't expect some player - one of our own players - to be giving it to me or ours. Especially given that the people up there had travelled on the back of two absolutely shocking performances from the players.
Anyway, I wasn't there, so am not getting too precious about it. A mate of mine was, so I guess I just feel like he deserved better.
But whatever, nevermind. The three points are in the bag so that's the main thing - was just a bit surprised to see it. That's all.

In the case of Mak, he has got lots of stick from fans, far more than the rest of the team, so I can understand him feeling slightly picked on. Sarcastic cheers every time he wins a header, even when the scores are level, for example.
It's not as if he's responsible for all the goals being let in
I'm really pleased Mak scored two really good goals. The first was a great strike and the second a good header even if not great defending.
He has had a huge amount of a abuse, sarcastic cheers if he gets his head to the ball and also some really poor games.
Every player is a confidence player but better players generate their own confidence on the pitch rather than needing it to be gifted to them. Simon isn't there yet but he seems today to be moving in the right direction and the support of the manager, his team mates and the fans for him could make the difference.
I still think he has quick feet, good skill with his feet and chest, less good positioning with his heading but I think some decent coaching and a run of form can make him a really good player at this level.
Let's get behind him.
Boo boys, shut it, you aren't helping, he's on our side.

Think he just wanted to fight everyone today, players, ref, fans of both sides. If fighty Simon scores two goals every week he can jump in the Charlton end and individually call every single person in the stand a c*nt for all I care, as long as the performances back up the attitude.
Think it was fair dos for him to give a bit back this week. Wasn't exactly the most controversial celebration - hardly pulled an Adebeyor. Would probably be better for him in the long run if he draws a line under it now and does his talking on the pitch. Hopefully the morons who have been on his back will do the same and lay off him now.
I believe that not only Mak but Saar and Berydich have suffered most from everything that has been going on at the Club. New Club, new country, new surroundings etc are difficult enough to adjust to but then chuck in two coaches, injuries, loss of form etc and it's not difficult to see why they have struggled. I believe all will come good, especially Saar, but they need time, and time isn't something we have been able to afford them, so far.

Loved watching them play even if the did normally create or score against us.

We should get some I've seen Makienok score t-shirts for the protest fund.
Personally I love our giant Viking.
Have this horrid feeling he has no interest in buying him even if we want him
If he really cost £2m then that money could have been better spent.
Wish him well though. After all we have him on the wage bill for years which costs a lot if he fails (thinking polish Pete here)
If he has another good game next game, sign him up for at least the length of Riga's contract.
