All we need is someone to wind him up every week!

Two great goals today, let's hope he keeps it up!

Just get the bloke who wouldn't get of out his way in the car park after the Forest game.

Who is the Real Simon ?

The one today and against Hull and Sheff Wednesday,

Or the guy who was rubbish against Ipswich and in a couple of other games. ?

Maybe if we can give him 100% support and stop the sarcastic cheers he may become more consistent
  • Love strikers who bully and annoy and ones who smadh headers in like that today

That Broadfoot guy was lucky Mak didn't lay him out today. It's one thing winding up the opposition but Broadfoot was deliberately targeting Mak's injured arm. Nasty and unprofessional.

Great stuff from him. Have been convinced he will come good for us, hopefully he can keep it up. Despite all the derision sent his way he is top scorer and has a number of direct and indirect assists to his name.

Needs to be aggressive like that more often but got some much better service today and that always helps strikers. As predicted by a number of us he also looks to have the makings of a partnership with Igor.

Well done Simon, keep it up and you have the makings of a cult hero in SE7.

Love him. Think he's an asset when he's playing with confidence.
  • He needs to find that level of form consistently but he had an excellent game.

Broadfoot has always been a tosser so was good to see Mak give it back to him. Played really well.

On a side note, did Broadfoot have a spray on beard?!?

Just keep you hands away from your ears mate - let your football do the talking.
Hands behind cupped ears never ends well - take my word for it.

If the crowd are giving it then he has every right to give it back. Well done Mak

What was that all about? Was he giving it to our fans after the first goal?

Yes, don't blame him after some of the sarcastic jeering he has had to put up with.
    Bollocks to that.

If you'd been up to Huddersfield and Hull I would think you'd have every right top be calling the players every name under the sun.

Shame he couldn't just appreciate the moment with the hardy souls that travelled up there. They aint the enemy. They don't need goading. Poor form, if that's indeed what he was doing.

agree. Hope he shuts the fans who were giving him stick on a regular basis this season.

He got jeered and he gave it back, good for him.

Fucking right he was giving it our fans they deserve it keep hearing support the team not the regime and yet people have given the big man shit, if it annoys people then stop people giving it him

"Some fans" maybe, but it looked like he was giving it to them all. I would be livid if I'd travelled up there and he did that to me.

He'd have to spend half an hour picking out individuals to give it to ffs!

And on top of that, I posted in the post match thread, trying to get him sent off after that tackle from k/o. Grade A .

Pleased for him today, his first goal was actually a very good finish - not easy with the ball bouncing and having to reach for it slightly. Second was more of what we expect of him, here's hoping he can knock in 5-6 more headers and a few with his feet before the end of the season. If that were to happen, I think a second season with us would be a better season for him.

So don't give it at all then, that's my point. Let your football do the talking.

Mate of mine was up there today and was also up at Hull/ He doesn't give the players shit - even though arguably they have deserved it - but he has to watch some big lump doing that. Not on really. But if I'm in a minority of one I'll just shut up about it. (Good goals by the way - which makes it even more frustrating)
  • If it is what gets him fired up like today then let people hassle him and let him give it back, I have no problem with players giving it back

Only 6 more this season and it will be oohahhmortimer contributing a tenner to the Upbeats rather than me. Come on Simon.

(Must admit I never thought I'd see him score with a header until today)

Maybe not, I share the season tickets with my ex-wife and so I only go home games the weekends I am spending with my son. I am embarrassed not to remember though as I watch all the game highlights :(
  • He was everything you want in a striker today, aggresive, assertive, willing to run channels, willing to get in the mix and finished with style on both occasions
