just read on his Instagram that the reason for his emotion was his Mother whom sadly passed away. Very personal paragraph. I'd post it on here but don't know how to.
Well done big guy, pleased for you!
think he has a makings of a cult hero tbh, rejected and shunned by his former club, having gone through a hugely tough personal time in his life and has the abilities to change a game of football with his skill and aerial ability. Sounds like a frenchman we all know...
My son just read it out to me,sounds like the last year have been terrible for him, With his mum dying and the sad time he had in Italy. Let's hope all cafc fans, take him to our hearts and he can be happy on and off the pitch.

That really is quite something...this team will definitely do something special this season
Outstanding performance today and a goal(made me eat my words) and assist for the best way to win a match with a last minute loopy loop for us fans The raw emotion you could see in him got to me and being a complete softie I have to admit to a few tears in my eye when seeing the passion and anguish flowing out of him at the end And if I'd known his personal situation I'd have prolly broken down completely in tears Long may this form continue for Big Mak there's only one Big Mak ......
I had already taken him to heart before I read that Instagram post but now I am smitten. I lost my Mum when I was 21 so understand a little what he has been going through. Lots of love for Big Mak. Not a bad footballer either!
Mak will be amongst the goals very soon and people will soon be wondering why they ever doubted him - starting tomorrow.
I'm just going to leave this here and highlight my one correct prediction for the year.
Not everything came off for him today, especially in the first half, but sometimes that was because teamates didn't read what he was going to do as much as it was because of an error on his part.
You could see the goal made a big difference to him and after that it was all coming off. Great defensive work too.
He seems a good lad and well liked around the club. Also seems very happy to be here and has that ingredient that Curbs was always looking for... HUNGER.
Rather like Leaburn, his style will not please everyone all of the time, but he looks pretty decent to me and I reckon we'll notice if he's ever unavailable for selection.
I have no doubts he will do well, he was prolific in the Danish supplies which is of a similar standard to the championship, he is still young and will only get better. Sign him ASAP.
Is he like leaburn in terms of his role? He'll get some stick then no matter what he brings
I think it's the same role but what made Leaburn unique was a penchant for the comical. I reckon Makienok won't fall over as much or find himself tripping over the referee while scoring from a yard out.
CAFC have scored 5 goals in 4 league matches. The big Mak has scored 1 has 3 assists, and started the move that led to the other goal. That's why we needed the target man, number 9 and big man to do exactly that. Great to hear that Guy feels he will get better as the season go's on.
She's well into it, have you seen some of her other tweets? Here are two after the result yesterday:
"Makienokasse og Johan G gav 3 points til Charlton #in.your.face" "And by "in your face" I mean plastic fans that didnt believe he could do it, Palermo fuck heads and oh! So Many critics."
A real grafter and I love his work in defence as well as attack! How many times yesterday did he head the ball out of our area! So pleased for Simon and let's hope more now follow. Having read the tweet, feel even more love for the guy and hope he becomes a CAFC hero!

And we have a winner! The lifer who could not look at what Simon brings to the team as Simon, but has to compare him to an ex - player.
Poor bloke. He puts in a shift, and he must have "My Perfect Cousin" by the Undertones going through his head...
If you have an older brother, how does it feel that everything you do is compared to how your older brother does things?
Anyone remember John Pearson? The missing piece of the jigsaw for Lennie Lawrence and a player who was instrumental in getting us back into the top league after a 29 year absence. Makienok is bigger and better and is going to have a similar influence, and I hope eventual outcome.
If you're expecting another Kermorgant you'll probably be disappointed. More like Iwelumo, can look awkward and frustrates at times but is effective at this level.
He's not as technical as Yann was, things don't always come off for him but despite that he's offered a lot so far. Involved in most of our goals, gives us an outlet and something different up front and offered a lot defensively.
Kept reading that he won't score goals but he had a good record in Denmark. He's played any football in the last year and is in a new team, country and league. Will hopefully get better and if we put enough decent crosses in he should score his fair share of goals.
Proper CF play inside the box. He pulls away to the far post for the deep cross, and then makes the odd run into the near post area to lose his marker, as on the first goal yesterday, Championship Defenders will have a real problem with him. He's showing signs of picking up the pace of the Championship now and certainly not the "effing useless lump", the numpty behind me kept shouting at Derby last week. I dunno if he was expecting Ibrahimovic?
I loved the chase back and sliding tackle during the second half. Team player.

That was awesome, no other centre forward would do that but he sprinted back and broke up their attack.

He may not be the most technically gifted but he will do for me any day of the week.
Keep it up big Mak.
