KM said at Bromley Addicks she never listens to messages on her phone as she gets called by so many agents. Maybe Bulot keeps leaving her messages and this is what is holding things up...maybe someone could warn him on twitter?
News from Dr Kish. Interesting about Bikey, if true we only have one centre half in Bauer. With youngsters Lennon, Obileye, and Thomas.
RAISING THE BA 09-Jul 21:10, by Ketts Just ten weeks after the Addicks ended their 2014/15 campaign, they return to action in the traditional curtain at Welling.
Charlton normally field a completely different team after the break against Welling, and it is likely that Guy Luzon will continue with this policy.
Most of the available squad should get their first 45 minutes of the campaign, Andre Bikey, Marko Dmitrovic and Johnnie Jackson are the likely exceptions.
Bikey and Luzon do not see eye-to-eye, Dmitrovic was late reporting back due to his involvement in the Euro Under-21 Finals and Jackson is injured.
After the match at Park View Road, Charlton will embark on a two match trip to Belgium, followed by a quartet of games in England, before facing Queens Park Rangers in the season opener at The Valley on 8 August.
IF true then we need at least one more centre back as a matter of urgency, I would say. Even if Bauer takes to the league like a natural we're one injury away from playing a youth team central pairing and frankly that has so much potential to go badly it's really not worth the risk. Unless of course Diarra is intended to be a CB now we have Ba but I prefer Diarra in midfield if I'm honest.
I think Luzon's opinion of Bikey's football has been quite clear since he arrived at the club.
1st Bauer 2nd 3rd Diarra 4th Lennon/Obileye
We only *URGENTLY* need one more centre back before the start of the season although I would rather we got two. I'd rather Diarra was fourth choice at best.
Does Luzon think Lennon or Obileye have enough to be third choice CB?

Bikey was horrendous in the Rotherham game. I'm reluctant to play the "he didn't look interested" card, but he really didn't
As the season went on he became increasingly erratic in his behaviour. He was sometimes casual beyond belief, my heart would be in my mouth as he would try to beat players on the edge of our box. Some games he would completely lose his head over the smallest refereeing decision or innocuous challenge - pounding the floor etc and charging around shouting. Slightly weird guy.
I have always been under the impression that we should have a squad of 25. That is 2 players for every position plus an extra keeper, central midfielder and striker. Youngsters should then supplement this. This would require an additional 7 players before anyone leaves.
However I can only see 5 or 6 come in along with players leaving. This would give us a squad size of around 18-20, meaning that some players will be filling two positions (Diarra for CM and CB for example), and youngsters will be supplementing the squad a lot more. Not ideal when injuries start to hit, and the youngsters lack first team experience.
For those who ask: still no decision for the starters are Öztürk (which should stay at Kasimpasa), Bulot (who trains at Charlton but which also has other offers) and Viera (Las Palmas wants to keep it).
So Freddy has other offers it seems, which might explain the hold up?
A lot of people moaning about the squad ... Yes we all know we need signings but we've got a very good core of players at the moment, Henderson Solly , Cousins , JBG , and a very good strike force. Few more players and we'll be more than ok .

A squad of 25 before any youngsters is too big for the Championship. That means a squad of 18 and 7 first team players are left out unnecessarily before even thinking about bringing any youth into the equation.
A squad of 22/23 (including the competent young players that we know are up to the job) is more than enough in my opinion. Any larger injury crises can be covered by further young players or loans.

The squad of 25 is spot on for the premier league, but in my opinion not necessary for the football league. As long as we have enough to cover a first team squad, any key injuries can be filled by emergency loans.
The only way to get the quality into the squad, and still have a budget that won't put us out of business, is to have a smallish squad so you don't flatten out the wages too much and therefore dilute the quality.
We want to remain an attractive proposition for the best of the youth players to join our academy as well. The only way to do that is to make sure there is space in the squad for a couple of youth graduates each year - as long as they are good enough. The more players like Shelvey / Jenkinson / Gomez that we bring through and get to a premier league first team gives us more of a chance of getting the next Shelvey / Jenkinson / Gomez or dare I say it... Parker who can help us push on either in terms of their quality on the field, or the income from their sales.

If we didn't make stupid signings like Polish Pete, Reza, Nego, Tucudean we would have more wriggle room in the Transfer market. These sort of players who are still with us are taking up valuable resources. We desperately need to get shot of them.
