Strip back and withdraw any hate we may have towards em.
Make no mistake, Palace are building a decent team, made all the more painful by being orchestrated by a bloke who was so woefully dogshit for us. I expect them to have a decent season. Zaha, Jedinak, Cabaye, Bolasie, Puncheon, Austin looks a tasty set up
Thing is - much as most on here hate Pardew - and he did a poor job for us that few would dispute. That was very nearly 10 years ago. He's since been forced to learn (especially at Newcastle) and Palace now have a manager with a lot more experience...making him an even more (but knowledgeable) arrogant git!

Cabaye supposedly being offered £100,000 a week by the Nigels. Sounds like Pardwash all over, but on a grand scale. Hopefully the implosion will be equally spectacular!

If that's true then I am suddenly very excited about this transfer

With the new TV money they will be fine with those wages, they don't seem dumb enough to not have some sort of relegation drop/release clause to get rid of him at the moment. It's a pretty incredible signing by them.
Why is he available for 10 mill to someone like Palace? Went to PSG, what... 18 months ago? for a big price and with a big reputation- why is he so (relatively) cheap now?
Well we could talk about Bulot non stop until something else happens in two weeks time. At least it is actual talk about football which is a rarity in this thread.
I'm not convinced Palace will see full value if they splash out £10m and £100k wages. You do have to wonder why a bigger and better club didn't come in for him not just at home but abroad too. This deal was hardly secret it's been well known for about a month Palace were after him. Even now the BBC are reporting it could still be 48 hours until the deal is done, it's almost as though he'll go to Palace only if nobody bigger and better comes along.
Maybe some feel at 29 years old and 1 goal in 36 games at PSG he could be past his best..but then I guess even if he is past his best he might still be good enough for a mid-table team.
This transfer smacks of Pardew all over, will clearly break there wage structure. 100k a week over lets say 3 years is £15.6m in wages. Add in the transfer fee and you're looking at £25m+ which is still a very sizeable chunk of any budget let alone theres.
I feel Palace are buying the name more than the player which is typical Pardew strategy but I guess only time will tell if this one pays off. Don't forget he's only one injury away from becomming a liability on there payroll too as he'll be top earner there by some distance.
So I heard that someone heard that we might be signing someone tomorrow but we might not, if we do that person might actually be Bulot or it could be someone else entirely. Or something.
We haven't actually added to the squad yet, have we. We've brought in a replacement for Buyens, and another for TBH and another for Church. At face value only 1 is a step up in quality. Are we waiting for more departures before we recruit? Must Harriott go before Bulot signs?
Yeh, I know, I'm another negative misery and It's only 8th July. I want my statement of intent godammit!
Peter Crouch on a season long loan. He has been given the option of impact sub at Stoke or guaranteed 1st choice with a Championship club. Wages 50/50.
Bulot does seem to be a wage issue more than anything. But to put a more positive spin on things... whilst they are 'only' replacements for players we lost, Bauer and Ba are both permanent signings not loanees, which suggests they are seen as being viable long term players or at the very bare minimum we will see money for them if they do go. The big striker we also have first dibs if he turns out to be great, again a sign perhaps the 'squad per season' approach is being phased out somewhat. Bulot is also intended to be a permanent signing when it happens, and of course Luzon has two whole seasons on his contract so the (current) intent must surely be for a longer term project.
A statement of intent would be very reassuring about now. Whether that's a real blockbuster signing from elsewhere or getting JBG/Cousins (or dare I dream of both?) onto another three or four years under contract, I for one would be much happier. But I don't think we need to worry just yet.

I wonder what they use to prop the doors open in the Palace dressing room?

You're welcome.
