  • Very good interview. Well played Weegie and The Trust.
  • Left early to make sure I got my copy and was met by two chaps distributing them walking along Floyd road back towards the station at about 2.05pm. Good piece on the interview with CP and great result as I had hoped for so no need for the tin helmets @ Raz & Co, not that the article would have had the slightest impact on the game and so it came to pass.
  • Liked Vince's article on pre-match pubs. Thanks for the kind words guys.

Can I just on behalf of the Trust take credit for todays win ;)

    No ;-)
Whats your take now, have you read it?

The interview is excellent ...in fact the whole issue is good. It does reveal the pressures CP was working under but I still believe a network approach can work. For example, how else would we have got Tony Watt?

Confirms that RD made quite a few mistakes at the start and continued to do so for a while.

Not a good situation for CP to be in so he did the right thing. We are now in a new regime which I think will work out ...yes I know I have been stating this continuously but I am quietly confident as I have always been. It just takes time.

Do we still need dialogue with RD ...100% yes. Will he give it ...no idea but we keep trying.

Do I now think the timing of the interview was right? No I don't. But in the light of today's result I can't be bothered to quibble. We are all Charlton so let's enjoy it.

Well done Weegie for a terrific article, and to the Trust for a good issue of TNT.

Now let's start what we all agreed in Woolwich.
and I'm in the background of the photo on the back cover with my son
  • Well written interview.

Maybe some of its thunder stolen by the Standard and SLP but better and in more depth.

    Well worth a read.

    Cheers Mike. All true.
  • Got to the ground at 2.35 - none to be had.
    Can't make Tuesday either, sadly
Wanted a programme too, but the only seller I saw was by the West Stand car park and had a queue of about 35 people. Screw that.
    :-(

Got there at 2.55, all gone. Not a problem as I just waited around for a couple of mins after the game and picked up a copy one of the £5 plastics had left under their seat.

Only had a chance to read the Powell bit so far and a very good interview it is. Well worth the read.

  • Good read.
Can't believe CP has made up anything so why would the owner be embarrassed, unless he's embarrassed about the way he runs the club. If there are inaccuracies or misunderstandings let's hear the other side, lets have a bloody dialogue. Ukraine talks to Russian and they are killing one another for God's sake. No excuses for not wanting to talk are acceptable, but will not be surprised if publication by CAST is taken as an excuse.

KM has tried to take the higher moral ground in portraying CAST as not wanting to talk, this interview should be used to put the boot on the other foot if she doesn't want to respond.

I think this was dealt with earlier by the trust, on another thread........hopefully that will correct any 'misunderstanding'/confusion on this matter.

So Katrien lied at the East Kent meeting which no-one wants to talk about?

No I don't believe she lied. She certainly wasn't correct in what she said but I think there's a fair explanation. When she made the invitation to Barnie, she copied the Development Officer who replied to tell her he could join the regular meeting I already have with her. She's busy and I imagine Barnie declining might have had a bigger impact on her than the fact it was already happening, given the context.

Had she recalled that mail, she'd know that her words could simply be debunked, so I'm happy to believe she'd forgotten she'd been told that, or simply missed it in what I'm sure is a full postbag.

Perhaps the club could say 'the owner picks the team, the coach keeps them fit and reports back to the owner'. What would be wrong with saying that?

If I buy a hospital, can I do the operations?

Great interview, but just the wrong place to publish it.

If only Weegie had some links with VOTV - it would have been the perfect place to publish it without further damaging the relationship between the Club and the Trust.

Don't be surprised if KM tells you where to stick your North Stand gazeebo though.

I had my photo in VOTV last issue ? ......Does that count.
Mine was in one recently too...direct violation of my image rights contract with myself. I've called my lawyer...

If you tell us it's you, then we can decide.

  • Just read on train. Good job Weegie. Seems lessons have been learned in recruiting since CP left. Also Jiminez and co must take a lot of blame too as CP admits team wasn't fit for purpose last season. Very good read.
