Some absurd, hysterical over-reactions to a decent 2-2 away draw. I would have been delighted with a point before the game & I'm happy enough with a point after the game. Let's just take the point & move on to next week.
It's this sort of lame attitude that sums up so many fans - forget who's fault it was - the whole team screwed up and if you think a point at Yeovil is good then we have fallen a long way. Every fan should be moody tonight!! Results of other games made our loss of 2 extra points worse.
A very good day out, save for the last 20 minutes. We visited the interesting Fleet Air Arm Museum on the way down and "The Arrow" was a civilised watering hole - decent pub food and Ringwood bitter, a place to park and a ten minute walk from the ground.
It was a generally nondescript first half hour, with neither team retaining possession very well. The only real effort of note was a very good shot from distance by Stewart, which their goalie managed to tip over the bar.
It was a portent of things to come as, following an excellent throwout by Alnwick, Stewart went on a long and speedy run from (I think) inside his own half, before blasting home a low shot. It was a clearly a goal from the moment he hit it.
Shortly before half time, Stewart ran at them again and induced panic. They were obviously worried about him cutting inside again but, this time, he went on the outside and hit a superb left foot cross to the far post, where we had two men over, both totally unmarked. Jacko nodded it home. So far, so good.
I expected Yeovil to really come out and have a go at us but we coped pretty comfortably and then had a good spell, with particularly good combination play down the left side between Wiggins, Kermogant and Stewart. Jackson had a shot in the area blocked after a good cross from Kermogant was knocked back, Cousins hit one just wide from distance and Church had an overhead kick saved. With 20 minutes left, we looked more likely to score than them and were in control of the game.
Shortly after Cousins had to go off with a knock, they got away down the left, their guy skinned Wilson and his hard and low cross was deflected in by Morrison. We then gave away a quite ridiculous penalty - after their forward had been successfully tackled and was going nowhere, our player (I understand it now it to have been Hughes) simply took his legs from under him.
The Jackson sending off looked extremely harsh to me. It was a tough 50/50 challenge and I thought he got the ball, although the ref was very close to it. We had, by then, already lost all momentum and it was then simply a case of battening down the hatches to ensure we took something from the game.
With all due respect, Yeovil looked a very basic outfit and it was very disappointing not to be able to take three points off them, given the position we were in. A potential five point cushion became two - although it could have been very much worse. We have some tough games coming up, notably, against Derby, Bolton and Brighton. Wins are not going to be easy to come by and my fear is that we may find ourselves going into the New Year in the bottom three.
This does not feel like a relegation side but improvement is most certainly needed. Let's hope that events conspire to give our manager a little room for manoeuvre over the next month or so.
Agree with Blucher. Very good write up. Was in the Arrow too.
We were in control at 2 - 0. With hindsight perhaps it was losing Cousins but it was just madness out there.
Alnwick look comfortable and commanding all day and then gets beat by an OG
Good day out, gutted to have not won it but some of the wrist sliting on here is OTT.
Thought is was a red but JJ was being pulled back, the ref was looking a collision between Hughes and a YT player and turned to see JJ lunge in. Pity as another quality goal.
Miller is a big lump but I wish we had him. Yann looks a shadow of the player we know he can be and an alternative would be handy until he gets fit/ready.
Solly looked OK and Stewart was a handful. They double and even triple marked him at time.
Back home, bit down, but still looking forward to the next game in the hope that we can show what we're made of when all the odds are against us.
Yann does worry me at the minute as I posted after Tues night's game and unsure whether coming off the bench as a hungry Beast and with Sordell being given a start , might be worth a go.
With JJ out for 3 games, the positive is that the gaffer will have to rejig the midfield, so may be a blessing in disguise ( sorry JJ!) Maybe time for Pritch to return with Lawrie playing in front of the now fit Solly ?
It was a very disappointing result after the jubilation at 2-0 and as others have stated, we hoped for a 3rd to kill the game off. But it wasn't to be and at 2-2 there was no decision to make IMHO.....we needed a point from this one.
Hope SCP can lift the lads before next Saturday & put the smile back on everyone's face- esp his own.
Went along and had a good drink pre match in the Arrow.
Felt totally in control at 2-0 and could not see them coming back. Hoof ball from them and Church in particular gave away far too many free kicks which allowed their cb's to get in our box. Said pre- game we needed Wood out there but Powell knows best:(
We panicked at 2-1 and lost control of a game we all felt was over. Hung on with 10 men with no problem. Would probably have been better to have been only one goal up rather than two as we lost the intense defending seen in away wins in recent years.
Wiggins and Stewart were excellent and Alnwick looks very solid. Hughes was a disaster, and can confirm Cousins was injured when subbed. Great to see Solly back.
All very depressing, but back home in sunny Belvedere at 8pm. Good turnout by us today looked to be about 1000 there (for ooh aah's benefit).
We also easily dealt with them when down to 10. Today was mainly down to bad luck and individual errors. Of course in any game you don't win tactics could have been better, but we definitely weren't inviting pressure.

So we should be happy with throwing a 2-0 lead against relegation rivals because we kept the ball well once we'd done that. Right, OK. Sorry, but today just isn't good enough and needs to improve quickly.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned him but rhoys wiggins was by far the best player on the pitch. Sat with some yeovil mates and they were surprised as to how good he was!
Please tie him down to a longer contract! Have a nasty feeling he will be gone in january. Cameron stewart was unplayable at various points in the game but went hiding as soon as their first went in.
Kermorgant was very poor, spent half the game moaning. Cousins coming off seemed to ruin the balance of our team.

At ANY level of football from World Cup to Sunday league, if you are winning 2-0 with 20 minutes to go, especially away from home, you don't go throwing men forward looking for a third. You try to keep tight and don't do anything silly. Unfortunately individual players made those silly mistakes and we were punished. That's not a tactical error, that's player error.
Posting without reading, In my opinion CP cannot be blamed, we were in control for most of the game and a deflected goal is simply just unlucky! Hughes is an experienced professional who I don't believe you can blame CP for bringing him on as players like that who have have a captain like influence on the team are 'normally' great to bring on to calm the team! We just were unlucky yesterday! Nothing is ever simply when you support CAFC.
Listen to Gary Johnson before the game (wr had a meal in their hospitality restaurant). Gaty johnson comes up at 2.10 before every game to talk to the fans.
On us...he said that our main tactic is to get it up to kerms head and onto churches run. If you can defend against that then you can stiffle us and then the game is there to win
Was als9o sat right in front of the jackson red card...my initial thought was it was a red
Would also like to add how wonderful and friendly the yeovil fans and employees are. Although we were charlton in the home hospitality area, they treated us wonderfully. A great club and i hope they stay up with us and look forward to going back down there next season
CP's body language and tone in the after match interview was that of a manager who knows we are in a relegation fight, but can't do anything to improve the team or performances.
We, as a team, I think are far to negative. Their were a few opportunities yesterday for us to shoot or get the ball in the box early but instead, we chose to pass it out wide which in turn gave their defence time to regroup. I love CP but am beginning to question if he has lost the power to build up the motivation in the squad and give them confidence on the ball. I also have a massive question mark over his backroom staff, just what does Alex Dyer bring to the party..??

I questioned Dyer's contribution ages ago and got slaughtered by a few - I still stand by my thoughts that he doesn't do enough.

But didn't understand a word of it !

For what it's worth, I was directly in line with Jackson's challenge and immediately expected a red to come out.
No complaints about the penalty either.
As many others have said - fell apart when Cousins went off. HOWEVER we had undoubtedly taken our foot off the gas for a while prior to that.
Just seen JJ's tackle ...looked like a red.
We are not going down ...the doomsayers need to get some bottle.

Or was he doing enough when we pissed league one and finished 9th last year
But this season cos we're shit he's had his feet up
