    What Greenie said. Excellent post.
  • Agreed. Excellent post Greenie.
  • Well said Greenie.
  • Why was Haynes up against Shittu and not Kermorgant, Fuller is either not interested, not fit or both
Shittu was really up for it, had a great game and was the difference in my opinion

I think it's usually the defender that picks the forward to mark and not the other way around.

  • spot on Greenie, I actually thought we were playing pretty well up until they scored.
  • Watched at home on a stream (good one at that) thought we played well 1st half, and Harriott & Pritch were outstanding, we created more chances anyway.
Millwall did absolutely jack the whole game, they just took the 2 chances that came their way, we didnt (Wilsons miss even more horrifying on the replays)excellent free kick BTW, 2nd half, total dross, they all went to sleep, Shittu was a rock for them.
  • think prtich should be used more deeper sadly offers very litle in attack but as a grafting battling niping your ankles hes very good would allow gower jj or stephens to get forward and support yann

how many assists does pritchard have?
  • After 4 days of reflection my thoughts are.... Meh...
  • Pritchard needs to address 2 things that are stopping him being the best midfileder of his type in the division. Firstly, his goal scoring - he needs to be sharper as he gets a fair number of opportunities due to his workrate and secondly, he needs to be a bit stronger in the challenge at times.

i've only got one thing to say and thats to the owners - get your hands in your pockets, stop exagerating how much money we are losing and invest i the team. If not, piss off!

They are trying to "piss off" but no one else will put their hands in their pockets, except the Trust and their pockets are empty.

Depends what price they are demanding to piss off, though, doesnt it Kap?

    True.

I am posting 4 days after the game, as I wanted to see the highlights on the league show, which I thought was pretty reflective of what happened in the game. I have been working and was just plan pig sick at watching another set of rival away, giving it large in the Jimmy Seed stand.

The North stand were entertaining mid first half. What happened with the singing of the Addams family song during the Jimmy Mizzen hand over for the anti knife campaign ? Totally mistimed and a bit embarrassing.

We need to play 451 at home, as we have had very little joy with 442. The 451 at least makes us difficult to beat (but just not with Dervite in midfield). It also allows for a creative midfield player who can pass the ball. It says it all that our creative fulcrum in midfield is Bradley Pritchard. He has some good qualities but key creative player ain't it. He is good at running about, bring Stephenson back.

The team looked more balanced with Harriott at right midfield, great shot in the first half and a good save from the goalkeeper. He is still quite raw but will become a more steady player in the future.

The Millwall goals were soft. The key difference in the game, apart from Charlton falling asleep after the Easter substitution and no picking him up, was that the Millwall keeper did his job and the Charlton keeper didn't deal with what was coming his way. Hamer back next game.

Chappell from Southampton supplied a quality cross for the first goal. Easter another loan scored. This is not the first time since January, 13 that loans / transfers additions have made the difference.

Fuller does not look interested. Wilson is a right back playing at midfield and is not a striker. He is off form and if he we had any other reasonable choices, he would be rested.

451 next game. Lets be difficult to beat for the rest of the home games and get the points to stay up.

I am Charlton till I die.

  • Who's stephenson?
  • Stephenson = Stephens
    Chappell = Chaplow

Excellent post vff, agree with you 100%!
  • Right - that's enough whingeing, how do we repeat the Cardiff effect against Bolton?

I love Charlton Life, particularly when you type out a whole post and some pedantic arse, ignores your whole post, to pick out some minor spellings or typos like you are sitting some sodding English Language examine. It was written at 12.03am after being up since 6, worked all day and putting together something in a hurry before the thread closes.

Well done. Jensen was class thanks for the encouragement and your bloody well thought out response. Cheers mate.
  • Son of Stephen. What's wrong with that? Great post vff.
  • Any twat who slates Pritchard, Jackson, Taylor, Solly or Yann is NOT proper Charlton ...FACT!

Do you mean exam rather than examine?

On reflection, I mis read that one. That's probably a positive comment. Apologies to Jensen was Class.

I have been in a short and pissed off mood since the Millwall result. I am never in a good mood after a Charlton defeat, but the salt in the wound of local rivals (again) and the exit, + the pitch, finances, and non communicative owners made it worse.

I am very f*cing tired as well (as Ooh Aah Mortimer, pisstakingly but correctly observes, -No complaints, I set myself up their comment). The Charlton result did not help. A good result and I would have put up with all the weeks stress and aggro.

Whatever the situation, I always have hope that Charlton will come good despite setbacks. Its ins in our history, and I believe that we will. No matter what, I still end up with an expectation that we will win, usually against the odds. I think we will end up with some decent long term owners as well. Even though it is sometimes painful.

    Charlton til I die.

Wilson is NOT a right back, he's barely a right midfielder

There should be an apostrophe after the 'e' - someone's getting tired, not someones getting tired.

  • Ii watched the game via stream and we were the better team in effort and class until they nicked a goal with their first real serious chance, which as happens to most teams took away our confidence so when Button made a mistake(like human beings do) for their second soon after destroyed us, nothing gutless about this performance.
