CP may be playing with a League One squad but it was a league-winning 100 point-plus League One squad. He doesn't deserve the sack but the end of this season/beginning of next will be a major test of his ability.
We were not unlucky today. We did not create enough to win. And as both the goals they scored were legitimate, they deserved the victory.
Anyway, I guess we should be grateful we are not getting relegated from the second division. Which speaks volumes for how far we have fallen in recent years. Avoiding relegation, owners who don't want to own us, no money, can't win at home, second best to Millwall and Palace. Great.
We simply aint good enough in front of goal why we let bwp go on loan is total bollocks he is better than anything we av and i will say it again who in our midfield actually creates anything we are a poor side and losing to another poor side shows we have a lot of catching up to do the board also need to show powelly some dough or fuck off .
Sorry but that today is not good enough. I love Powell to bits. The mans an amazing guy. But he really is not good enough. Our home form is a complete embarrassment. You can all sit and say no investment yadeeyada. But the money he spent on that waste of space Wilson and Button could've been spent so much more wisely. Players could've been sold to free money up. We could've been so much more astute in the summer and January. Big different today was we bring in a donkey and an oap, they bring in a championship promotion player from last season and a proven goal scorer. Just clueless. This side needs a serious clear out. Anyone could've taken that team up last season. Losing today is embarrassing.
Mate I'm sure you have better things to do than watch the second half again on Player, but if you do, you'll see at least two occasions when he bottled. That was when I knew we were beaten.
Football is a simple game, but judging by our performances you wouldnt think so. With the players we have at our disposal at this level, its easy to see why we are reasonably decent away from home.....the types of players we have in the squad are ideal for break away football...a reasonably solid back four and a crowded midfield five and one up front is ideal for away games, easily converting into a 433 in a breakaway formation.
However, 442 doesnt work at home....the weakest of midfields as a four and no real potency up front with a two who work well in tandem is the problem.....Powelly wants to play 442, but simply we dont have the right blend of player for that formation to be effective......451 at home of course not a viable option as the home team is supposed to be on the offensive. CP should just shut up shop to stop the rot....Curbs learnt this early in his managerial career....not pretty to see us being ultra defensive, but the alternative we are seeing at home isnt palatable and if it continues fans understandably, will continue to vote with their feet, with relegation not entirely out of the question either.

So who is managing the team with the 4th best away record in the league?

It really couldn't have been spent more wisely - Wilson only came because Stevenage agreed to wait for the fee until the Sky money came in and Button came because Spurs agreed to defer payment until June 2013. Other clubs, understandably, expected to see the colour of Charlton's money before agreeing deals. We should have sold Stephens in August and spent the cash, but Jimenez called Villa's bluff and lost.

Yep.,and who now thinks Villa will come back with even 2m for Stephens this summer?
I saw him Prague get mentality beaten by shittu and I think that done him I also saw him pull up ten mins into the game Haynes has talent is not an out and out goal scorer but his mental state IMO is fragile and gets easily beaten mentality by players who impose on him
Let's make no bones shittu was a fuckingbbeast today and bossed Haynes yann and fuller
In the remaining games I am convinced gower will create more slide passes and Haynes pace will take him through
I am convinced we won't go down but money is needed as we will next that's for sure if we don't strengthen In depth

Have you looked at the league table? We are now in serious trouble only 5 points above the bottom 3 with many of the teams below us having games in hand. If we don't turn this form around quickly we could easily end up back in League 1.
I would not mind paying more for a season ticket if things were getting better at the Valley but they are not might as well do 10 away games I would enjoy it more....
Totally fucking unacceptable!!! So fucking angry, 1 point from Palace and Millwall is not on!!!!
Totally unacceptable, overreactive comment.
That's Millwall (gone above us with 2 games in hand... imo better than us) and Palace 18 points ahead of us and BOTH were a league above us last season.
Having waded quickly through 8 pages of comments. Thought Haynes did okay, but agree he could've left the pitch a bit quicker. We seemed to want to walk the ball into the net - someone behind me said "arsenal" (I think that's what he said) and I have to say I was thinking the same. I fear for us, I really do.

Excellent post. Pretty much agree with all of what has been said which is a first.
Its not the fans...we have been the same for years now and are a patient civilised lot on the whole
Powell wants to be liked so much that he transfers that pressure onto the players before the game and intelligent play goes out the window
Powell is wedded to that out of date tunnel dance he did when a player when we win...which now puts him under increased pressure as a manager when we don't win.
Memo to Powell: stop trying too hard to please us. Just do the job, you are not a player anymore and don't be frightened to try new things and upset a few people if you feel you are right.
the championship requires a bit of quality to get the points as weve seen time and time again from quality goals from haynes or fuller earlier in the season and very nearly saw it from Kerm today when his freekick missed by a whisker... we got shut out with a 5 man midfield set up by Millwall and the moment easter was being lined up we all knew he score ...
the overall problem is we have exactly where we should be ... harriot looks great, kerm can do a job, Solly is terrific, wiggins looks good, but woith jacko and pritch its very huff and puff...
We need more money, its as simple as that, we have always done well when we had amidfielder that could create, be it murphy, reid, parker, jensen, stuart even... we dont have anyone who can do that.. haynes scared the defence but the keeper was wise to it and came out a couple of time s and nullified it ...
We are missing a few key players, bu the truth is we are exactly were we should be lower mid table...
Hopefully we can stay up ... i definately feel for the season ticket holders, this must have been a terrible season...
This thread has made me realise our fans really are as bad as so many other's in modern football, we lost Curbs due to them, they got a decent guy in Parky sacked when he deserved a chance with some backing & now they are trying to get a club legend doing a good job of keeping us up under very difficult situation sacked, football is losing it's soul because of fans like you.
Football fans are meant to have a moan and be critical of what going on, and the manager is meant to be able to deal with it. Football is a "results business" and I would say that CP is fully aware of that.
Can people stop saying we are not going down, our home form is dire which puts a lot of pressure on us picking up points away from home.We will need to pick up between 5 to 8 points with some difficult games to be played.

People who have seen lots of away games, can CAFC players pass the ball???
