Absolutely loathe the man, cant stand seeing his smug face on tv. Another in a long line of people stealing a living in football.

I know it's obvious to say it as he has been sacked several times, but he does seem to look like an impact manager and less of a squad-building manager. He has spent a lot of money (irrespective as to what he's received from player sales) at most of his clubs and rarely has he sold on a player for a profit.

I have to say that when he arrived at The Valley, and until the last few months of his reign, I always thought he said exactly what I wanted to hear from him. He always seemed to sound like he knew what he was doing and that he was going to achieve the stated goal. Clearly, looking back, he was good a PR. The most obvious one being that he spent three quarters of a season telling us that his teams always come good at the end of the season. This, I believe, convinced us that that we were ok being six, or so, points behind where we needed to be.

If it took us nearly two years to realise he was full of PR rubbish then is it not acceptable to assume that his employers would also be fooled by him? Initially at interview by his plans for the club and then by his immediate success with a squad that someone else had put together.

I'm not sure he is as bad a manager as we have come to believe. Clearly he's not as good as he would like us to believe, but I think there was a malaise at Charlton when he came, and he nearly kept us up and on relegation (from the Prem) the financial disaster meant that he only, really, had one season to get us back up. The sale of Andy Reid (what ever the truth about it was) cost us that season and then I think the resulting disaster was, probably, inevitable.

I still loath the man and would love Newcastle to be relegated, but I suspect that he will not be out of work for long as he does have some successes on his CV.

Should have been sacked in the summer of 2008. Would have been a brave decision after the Dowie-Reed shambles, but there were people at the club who had worked it out.
Didn't take long for Nicola Cortaise to work it out:

Appointed Nigel Adkins and the rest, as they say, is history.

There was more to it than "staff morale". The guy was taking the p*ss out of Southampton.

Don't rate him as a manager, but from what i have been told about him (from very reliable sources) I rate him even less as a human being.

He had us over for a termination settlement he just didn't deserve. Should have had the decency to resign in which case he wouldn't be so hated (just thought of as a useless coach and motivator). So he can have no complaints when described as a c*#t.

The guy I really feel sorry for is Chris Hughton. Did a great job at Newcastle but got shafted - possibly because he wasn't a great fan of casinos. Who is to say that Newcastle wouldn't have done as well under him last season especially as the team he now manages sits above them in the PL.

Hughton has left all his previous Clubs with dignity and not a bad word to say about anyone. Some Managers could learn from him.

No reason to feel sorry for Hughton. He's got a good job and doing ok. Who'd you rather be working for? Delia Smith and Stephen Fry or Ashley and the rest of the Cockney Mafia?

Anyway I think Hughton is quite lucky to still be in football, he was No.2 at Spuds during numerous disastrous spells for various managers.

Just looking at his face is bad for morale so imagine working with him.

Norwich vs Newcastle tomorrow. Sure the geordies will be on pardews back big time once they lose there.

Wonder if those personal reasons have anything to do with AP?!

Yes possibly wants to move his wife/GF back to Argentina and away from his "friendly" manager. ;)

Now this would be funny, if he signs for QPR !

Loic Remy is set to reject a move to Newcastle and join QPR's fight for survival, Sky Sports understands.

The striker was expected to travel to Newcastle for talks after they agreed a fee in the region of £8.3million with Marseille at the weekend.

But it has now emerged Remy, 26, is instead negotiating with Harry Redknapp's QPR and he is expected to undergo a medical at the West London club on Tuesday.

Marseille have confirmed Remy is keeping his options open, as sporting director Jose Anigo told RTL television: "We at OM reached an agreement with Newcastle but we also talked with other English clubs.

"We gave them a working basis and it remains up to Loic to choose the club he prefers in terms of their structure or sporting plans.

"He is currently in England and is speaking with some clubs. Everyone talks about Newcastle but it is not just Newcastle, because he is talking with other clubs.

"We have to remain cautious. We have done our job and players and agents must do theirs. Nothing is done."

Redknapp is also believed to have approached West Bromwich Albion with offers for striker Peter Odemwingie and defender Jonas Olsson as he looks to strengthen his squad for a relegation dogfight.

The QPR boss was in Rennes on Saturday ahead of a possible bid for Yann M'Vila, but Djibril Cisse is expected to be told he can leave Loftus Road before the month is out.

Most footballers are on silly money, but he was moaning about the high wage of players at QPR that have minimal contribution to the 1st team. From what I remember it was aimed at Boswinga and Zamora.

I think he was referring to Bosingwa rather than Zamora.

Looking at the table, a couple of wins and QPR will be in touching distance of Newcastle.

Not sure where this leaves QPRs vast number of other strikers though, Hulse must be 6th or 7th choice!

Mind you, it has already taken QPR half a season to get 2 wins ....!

For what it's worth I have an inkling hes gonna roll up at palace or Millwall before long. No evidence to back this up just a feeling.

I fucking hate the man and knowing he will get found out soon at the barcodes makes me happy

Newcastle 1-2 reading as it stands. If Newcastle don't pull one back I actually think Ashley will be forced to take action. Geordies, I think, will be in the drop zone.

Sounds like Pards getting quite a bit of flak from Barcode fans at the minute. Only another seven and a half years to go on that contract ..
