Emmanuel Frimpong is set for a loan spell with Charlton, with a view to a permanent move.
The Ghanain midfielder was strongly linked with Wolves, where he spent some time last season before suffering another serious knee injury, but it appears that move fell through during the week.
Although the Wolves manager said the club were still open to a loan had he not joined another club by then it seems Charlton have jumped to the top of the queue.
It is expected that Frimpong will seal the move on Monday and, should he impress, could move to The Valley on a permanent basis.
Under manager Chris Powell the Addicks were promoted to the Championship after winning League 1 and currently sit mid-table. Frimpong’s last appearance for Arsenal was in the 7-5 thriller against Reading in the Capital One Cup and although highly rated by Arsene Wenger, it seems the two knee injuries have robbed him of a chance to establish himself at Arsenal.
Arseblog News wishes him the best.

Why wait until Monday, can't they get it done today? Surely he can take a medical at any time. Typical Charlton if this falls through, rumours fly around and a bigger club comes sniffing around.
It's a rumour on an unofficial blog Gaz, don't think that they'll really know about dates. Officials at both clubs are probably tied up with other things, travelling to matches, so Monday would seem a likely option.
Good at the defensive, harrying work and not much else. I think he could do a job for us, but ultimately I hope we don't sign him because I genuinely cannot take several months of people typing out 'DENCH' like they're the first person to think of it. I...I just can't take it.
Frimpong is an excellent defensive midfielder who has been brought up from age nine at one of the best development clubs in the world under the tutelage of one of the best coaches in the world. The fact that he has perhaps run his course at Highbury doesn't mean he is not going on to be a very good footballer. He will IMHO be dominant at Championship level and I can honestly say that anyone who doesn't think he would be a very good acquisition for us is barking.

Tidy signing if it does happen though.
Has to wait till the new investors money arrives ; - )
Didn't rate Almunia, Silvestre or Jeffers either, he's not always right! And he's letting him go anyway by the sounds of it!
