sorry mate the same can be levelled at most of the bottom half of the league he needs to get his head down and work with what is available, hard work on the training ground and come up with a structured way to play because at the moment we are playing differently away from home to at home. Under Curbs he played one up top at home and away from home when things got smelly usually with Bartlett being the one.
Stop the Parkinson shitstirring. The League table does not lie. If we are in the bottom 3 on Boxing day, who things that is acceptable regardless who's in charge. Powell, Alf Ramsey, Winston Churchill, i don't care, but if unless we want to do, yo yo trips to Yeovil and Brentford, then the something needs to happen.
Window opens at Xmas give CP the backing .....But agree with Steve he needs to get a system and stick to it ...and play the best players in their best position ...
Agree with that he should have not changed the formula but I wonder if Evina being crocked changed that thought process or was he going to do it anyway

I think he tinkers tactically far to much
Naff all to do with tactics today. Shocking Under 8's defending for the first 2 goals.
cort/dervite for the first in my opinion was the worst goal of the day as A) It gave boro the impetus and b) the two of them saw what was going to happen and done sweet fa about it.
To be fair to Parky (who should never have been given the job in the first place imho) he got us to 4th in L1 in 2009/10, in what was a more competitive division than last season's.
Yes I'm happy for SCP to stay manager, but you can't just blame TJ and the finances for every defeat, and praise SCP for every victory.
Were they individual errors shirty if so then not much the mgr can do
For the first goal who was marking Woodengate, and told him during the week to pick him up. The Carthorse had a five yard run, and i've seen milk turn quicker!
Granted, once they are on the pitch, the buck stops with them, but sooner rather than later, it will fall in Powell's lap.
The desperate shift to 352 at after 70 minutes when 3-1 down could be explained by pressure from the TJ / board to get a result.
I would not be impressed at all if TJ uses a period when there is a lot of injuries with relatively threadbare investment as an excuse to get rid of Chris Powell and impose one of his easily controlled crony or dodgy managerial type on the club.
It is starting to appear that TJ does not give too much of a stuff about the Charlton supporters (customers) views though. If all this comes to pass, I will seriously consider not stepping back into the valley whilst the TJ crony is in charge.
Keep the faith with Chris Powell and back him with some investment.
So the problem is no news coming out of the club. THE OTHER PROBLEM IS THE NEWS COMING OUT OF THE CLUB. excuse me won't you as I am dizzy with alternate problems. I'm not burying my head as something is wrong, but for Ralph's sake, keep it consistent please
Regardless of hero status or not I believe the following about powell:
1, He is a determined and thorough individual. 2, He will become a better manager with each challenge that he faces. 3, He will be aware of his mistakes and will learn from them. 4, Cafc is only the first step in a long managerial career.
I hope the board take into account the injury crisis and the general quality level within the squad (lower mid table championship) when fully fit. Powell is the best option we have to turn things around.
I agree with you shirty, if by crimbo we are in the bottom 3 something HAS to change. If Powell doesn't get assurances to bolster the squad I think he may walk anyway.
I just don't think he signed up for 'this' when he got promotion. Then again, if we don't win at home again until December he could (should?) get the boot.
Well on Tuesday we all better make sure the board know the level of support for CP win, draw or lose especially lose.
So if we lose again on tuesday, what exactly do you feel the reaction will be? I for one will not be booing if that happens, but the longer this home form shambles continues the more the crowd will turn.
I don't want us to go back into the same turd it has taken us 3 years to get out of, so for that reason alone, man up Powell, or find us someone that can do it!
with all due respect redmidland you dont go games to say evina is quality is bloody stupid.
Agreed I don't get to many matches....and my opinion is expressed on what I read from others on here and doing the match thread every game and listening to the different commentators who have said that he is a really good LB , and I believe he would have held his place if he had not been injured today......so I should have said that and apologise for not doing so.....if you are not of that opinion then fair enough.......but 'bloody stupid' is a bit harsh I think....but that's just my opinion.
Higher quality teams are...WHAT???? jeezus, come back when you're sober!!
I am sober we just not good enough.
Come back tomorrow & read your posts again.
Awful today. No disguising that. Some very poor individual errors, which no manager can prepare for. Players sometimes do things that you just can't anticipate...other than to think that there's always a chance they'll f*** up.
We added a couple of decent players in the summer, but we're currently without a good few who would definitely be amongst the first named on our team sheets. I think we've been massively outplayed this season, but that's the first time we've capitulated. And I don't think Boro were as good as say Forest.
If there is money available, back CP in January. If it isn't, no one will get more out of this group of players than he will.

A rendition of Chrissy Powell from the covered end would not go amiss at the end of the game to show our support for him.

Put in the same perfomance as today, then you will find most of them will have gone home by the end of the ref's parping.
I can't see any worthwhile manager coming to Charlton unless they were guaranteed transfer funds in the January window. We sure as hell need to strengthen but imagine how CP would feel if the Board (unless new investment is imminent) cough up for someone new while they starved CP of the resources needed to make us competitive in the Championship.
CP is one of the best things ever to happen to our club and i hope he will be manager for many more years to come.

The man got us here.
If we went down with him he'd get us back up and that's worst case scenario.
Think he'll keep us up anyway.
