Weren't there today as I'm at uni, but had texts from three separate people at the game that there were whispers going round before the game that Powelly has four games to save his job. Anyone else heard this?
It's a results business and we're not getting results, Powell is not held in the same esteem with our saviour-like owners as he is eith us so it wouldn't surprise me. Doubt there is room for sentiment when your own bank balance is at stake.
If there werent rumours before there will be now. Results arent good enough and if the relationship between CP and the board isnt great then time is running out.
Anyone who thinks he should go now needs shooting, granted we arent playing well and are struggling to win games and that needs to be put right very very quickly, BUT he pissed league one, we still have a squad mainly made up of league one players and we have been so unlucky with injuries and missed opportunities late in games recently.
He baffles me with some of his squad selection at times (Solly at LB for instance) but we're not playing THAT bad, 3 mistakes for for boro's first 3 goals today, how can he be held responsible for that?!
Its far too early in the season to talk of sacking him, jesus christ who are we going to get in that can change it that much with the players we have?
Wait til Kermo and Wiggins are back and let him bring in a couple of players to help the squad in Jan and then judge him, not yet.
Right. So sacking the manager isn't going to help. Plus I suspect players like Yann have a personal loyalty to CP, that make them more likely to stay while he's there.
A new manager would need money to strengthen the team .. either money is available and is not being given to Powell but is being saved for 'the new man' or the new man will have no money either .. who would want the job on that basis ?
Its hardly his fault that we have so many key injuries is it? And if he had been "allegedly" given the money for more players in the summer I doubt we'd be having this problem. If he goes I will be seriously pissed off.
We have had terrible luck with injuries. Plus, the money ran out and we haven't been able to replace some League One players with Championship standard ones. Doesn't make the job easy, does it?
Running around like headless chickens and calling for people to be replaced will start another downward spiral - and we all know what happened last time....stay calm people.
I think the majority of people on here want Powell to be given as much time to sort things out as possible. The fear is the owners might not, they're the ones that need to stay calm.
The money run out?.well powell has signed over 23 players since he became manager. He can't make the right choices.Murray should not have sold our club to people with no money.curbs glory years .

Do you really need reminding of our record breaking season?!

You are deliberately misusing a stat there. Most of those signings were when we needed a brand new squad to get out of League 1.

Tried Powell, next Curbs?
No way of masking it we are not doing well at the minute
