Was Wilson really bad? or are people focusing in on one or two things as he did have the ball a lot and made a terrible decision late on when he tried to be the hero instead of crossing . I thought Pritch, Hollands and Kermy were far more unconvincing than Wilson
He could not defend, perhaps he was slightly better coming forward but we bought him as a right back.
Re: Fuller quote. Same can be said for the last game..........
Fuller has to start. Have noticed so far into this campaign that some of our players are not lasting the pace in this league. Midfield at the moment looks weak.
hate to say it but palace were the better side tonight, our midfield wasnt good enough.although up to a point stephens was very good.pritchard had his worst game for us,jj and hollands tried hard but not quite good enough. we missed wiggins which didnt help the shape. hopefully chrissy powell learns that one dimensional long ball football is not going to work in this division. all in all very disappointing, but lets hope lessons are learnt from tonight.
Green done a great job coming on tonight, deserves to start ahead of JJ, which pains me to admit. I blissfully ignored it until now but I don't think he can cut it.
As for Wilson, no no no and no. Poor decision making and poor all round.
Need some creativity in midfield, the four central midfielders is not working for us.
Green, Pritchard,Wilson, Hollands, Stephens. Have a look at our 2nd team even worse.
Should have taken whatever Villa offered. Stephens didn't look worth £500.000 tonight.
Edit read it wrong, you asked 4th division. Pritchard, Green. Rest are 3rd division rubbish.
Have a nap
Have a nap??
You telling me Green and Pritch aren't 4th division players? You're on drugs fella.
Green played over 30 games for the team that got the most points ever in the 3rd Division. Pritchard was also excellent last season. The team taht strolls out of League One is hardly boasting League Two talent. It doesn't make a scrap of sense. I think you might need to calm down a little and reflect. Hence the nap.

I dont get this outrage over the disallowed goal. When you think about it, if the Palace guy hadnt tripped over, BWP would have been offside anyway. We had been totally outplayed up to that point, and it would have been a hugely fortunate goal to have been allowed. The plain fact is, that until the last 5 mins, we created eff all, were second best all night and deserved to lose. TBH , we played some poor stuff in 2nd half of last year, but got through it because teams werent good enough to take advantage. I'm just fed up with us playing hoof ball to Kermy ALL the time - are we ever able to 'create' a goal from good open play other than a hopeful hoof then knock down. We just havnt seemed in the running in midfield at all for the past 3 games.
Maybe its time to cash in on Solly and buy a couple of midfielders with the dosh - after all, Wilson , at least in the 2nd half, showed he can fill in Quote
They were better than us. Our midfield is beyond slow. Its a home game and we had no width at all. Pritchard was poor and if Jackson keeps his place after the 6 performances so far something is very wrong.
Wilson was junk. Can only think people are judging him on the last 10mins when Palace shut up shop.
Banging long balls isn't going to work.
Basically both teams looked shite nd it was a poor advert for Championship football.
It always amazes me how different you can view games from tv coverage. I genuinely thought Wilson was poor and was surprised to see positive comments, but everones entitled to their view. Jackson was completley invisible for me, hope it doesn't become a habit. Fuller showed touches of class. Their goal was a great strike but awful marking which is surprising for a powell side. Yann wasn't really in the game but Leon Cort literally won every header he went for. Lino and ref got 3 blatant corners wrong in 2nd half. Felt like we only had fuller who could come on and change it, green did ok but our depth worries me. Got served a pint at 52 mins, seriously something needs to be done about the set up at the kiosks.
Don't know what all this nonsense about congratulating them is for. They scored a goal, we didn't, well fucking done to them.
Just got in from the game, heard that BWP was onside. I don't feel as aggrieved as I normally would (even though it was against the Nigels) because our performance was sub-standard.
Observations:
a) I've seen every minute Wilson has played for us and I'll be honest, I'm not happy with the guy as cover. If Wiggins's injury is bad, then I'll be very concerned.
b) We've got three decent/capable strikers in the team - all on the pitch for the last thirty minutes. Why is it so difficult to get the ball to them? I would call us toothless if we were missing a lot of chances, but we rarely create them in my opinion. Two home games without scoring - one against tonight's crock of shit - is a bit of concern.
c) I do love Jackson (and please don't give me the old "you can't reprimand Jacko" nonsense - no-one is infallible), but I think I'd really rather see Kerkar on the wing. Not saying we can't accommodate him in a more central role, in fact I think I'd advodate that, but Wiggins constantly seems exposed as Jacko tucks in too much.
d) And most importantly. We were off the pace tonight, and we were beaten by a shit (but better) team. For that reason, I'm not panicking; far from it. Hopefully we've learnt some lessons in the last couple of weeks. I'm gutted but proud to be an Addick. Just thank the lord your fathers weren't Palace wrong'uns, otherwise you'd have grown up following that carnival masquerading as a football club. "Ultras" (lol), flares, cheerleaders, etc. It could be a lot worse guys, we could support them rather than cringe at them.
As part of the ongoing love in, am I the only one who thought Chris Solly was outstanding? Through no fault of his own he had to adjust to a new position. Tried to deal with it by even using his left foot pretty often, gave everything as usual, and at times in the later stages was one of our best attackers. Our MoM, and Dale Stephens impressed as well. Morrow and Cort pretty good, but our Yann didn't have one of his best...oh and a big up for BWP...no goal but I think played well...adjusted his position too.

Agree on that - reminds me of the fans you see over here in the MLS who have only just recently discovered the game after watching a few La Liga games & try in a hollow & desperate way to create atmosphere. I'm sure they were noisy tonight, 3000 people in that stand whispering & shuffling about create noise due to the acoustics - but flares & flags, leave it out this is a sh"tty club with no history from the leafy commuter belt not Roma or Lazio....

Did someone really say it was a smash and grab?
I have to agree with Clem on this one and it was never a smash and grab, we were out thought (tactics), out faught (passion) and sadly but not surprised out sung (fans)
Its gonna be a long season with a slow midfield and playing the long ball, yann was non existant tonight
The entire midfield had an off day . JJ looked very disappointed when he went off and must know that the writing is on the wall for him in this division as a midfielder.wiggins' injury might however be a blessing in disguise for JJ .I would put him in at left back ,move solly back to where he should be playing and get some width or better still pace into midfield :either kerkar or green .I would also start Fuller over Kermy . we desperately need another centre midfield option with more drive and creativity as Stephens is playing way too deep and his passing is getting picked off too easily .palace retained the ball and used it much better than us but the last 15 mins was at least spirited.disappointed but not utterly dejected.
Palace are a mid to lower Championship team and played us off the park. We'll be lucky to avoid relegation this season. Green was the only attacking highlight and gave us width and skill, but we had to put up with the dross of Jackson and Pritchard in wide positions instead for most of the game
How many goals did they score as a result of Wilson? Zero. Zero goals. And yet he's being compared to Simon Francis after not even having 90 minutes? If some of you lot were the manager we'd be in the Blue Square Premier. And you probably still wouldn't play WIlson..

Up the Addicks, see you at Derby.
Agree with A and C and D
I believe the answer to B is too much long ball
Its gonna be a long season with a slow midfield and playing the long ball, yann was non existant tonight
We are gonna have to listen to all this scapegoat bollocks but in all honesty he is absolutely woeful
Simon Francis all is forgiven
Long ball merchants tonight and it's gotta stop
Birmingham away seems so far away
