We really missed Wiggins! Solly did well but he is not as effective at left back. Wilson did ok and Green did well in his short cameo. Can't really argue with the result though, despite the disallowed goal
If Wilson's the answer I'm worried. Dreadful against Orient and dreadful again tonight. He cannot defend. Was at fault for what ended up being their goal. Ok going forward, but no better than Wiggins. That shot at the end summed it up.

Thought we did OK at the back (especially after losing Wiggins, even though he was struggling with the impressive Zaha) and Solly did very well filling in on the left.
Jackson too slow and not getting involved enough, thought Wilson was poor looked scared and panicky don't think he tackled bolaisie once deffo not a replacement if solly was to go. Thought fuller and green bought a spark to the side and bit of energy and ability.

One of those games, frustrating, palace were nothing special , was impressed by zaha , don't like the way we just play for yanns head, didn't deserve to win, let Ben hamer come up for the next corner ?
Frustrated that we set out defensively as we did. JJ and Pritchard will work hard, offer cover for the back four but tonight exploited a painful lack of pace and creativity. Kermo and BWP were feeding off scraps for most of the game.
I've hardly seen the sight of Wiggins overlapping and providing dangerous crosses this season so far just like he did last but I guess Powell is making us hard to beat, which I can understand to a certain extent.
Palace were brittle at the back so it would have been good to see us have a go at them from the off, maybe sacrifice Pritch for Cook/Green. Our set up and style this season appears to be contented to soak up whats thrown at us and then counter, but I worry we dont have enough guile to create the chances needed.
Green, Pritchard,Wilson, Hollands, Stephens. Have a look at our 2nd team even worse.
Should have taken whatever Villa offered. Stephens didn't look worth £500.000.
So all those players who destroyed League 1 last year are now League 2 players... Slight overreaction on here at the moment. For the record i though Stephens was our best player tonight.

I thought Wilson put in a decent performance tonight, not perfect but he was always an outlet and kept the ball moving - until Green came on, he was the only player in the 2nd half putting in crosses.
Wilson at fault for the goal, every throw in he took poor. Every set piece involved in was misplaced, every time Zaha stood up to him he got skinned... he did one thing good all game, but if Wilson is our RB all season im very worried. Hope Wiggins is ok. We need some pace in midfield, and more comfortable on the ball under pressure.

Sorry .. Powell got his selection wrong. Jackson and Pritchard were well off the pace @ Notts and should not have started tonight. The side has no pace, Haynes is injured but Kerkar wasn't and should have started as should have Fuller. Having said that, we were unfortunate .. the disallowed 'goal' was a disgrace and though outplayed we had the better close in chances. But this was a disappointing performance lacking passion, tactics and technique

Wilson is a lower Champ RB which is where we are. Until we start believing in ourselves and playing football, we'll struggle. That being said, the alarming lack of depth in terms of quality scares the crap out of me.

Bit harsh , nobody can fill sollys boots I think you will find. I didnt think he was brilliant , made a few mistakes but was overall steady and looked good
This Wilson divided opinion is clearly because of the contrast between his going forward and his defending. If he had been playing RM no one would be calling him awful, but he wasn't, he was meant to be playing right back, and if tonight (and Orient) is anything to go by, the boy cannot defend.
Was Wilson really bad? or are people focusing in on one or two things as he did have the ball a lot and made a terrible decision late on when he tried to be the hero instead of crossing . I thought Pritch, Hollands and Kermy were far more unconvincing than Wilson
