Bit late on this as my internet has been down for 24hrs............
Very disappointed with the performance as a whole. The 2 players I thought we'd stuggle to replace in their positions were both missing last night, and boy, did it show. Evina looked nervous and Wiggins even more so. Green was completely ineffective until he was switched back to the right and was then subbed 5 mins later (wtf?). Pritchard is a central midfielder, not a right mid and looked out of his depth. Waggy came on and had little effect and just carried on with his whinging routine.
Kermogant was his usual excellent self and BWP worked really hard and really deserved a goal. It was nice to hear fans singing his name, even when he was subbed. Shows how much we appreciate him.
Too many players out of position and even more out of sorts.
Regarding the player getting booked for tangling with Kermogant, I can't understand how that was a yellow card. It was off the ball and can only be deemed as either accidental or violent conduct, so should have been a red or nothing.
We really need to pull our socks up on saturday otherwise Stevenage will be responsible for inflicting our first home defeat as well as our first one away.......................
One of the group i go with (who shall remain nameless), sits in a different stand and we meet him after. His view was that CP has to go. He surpassed himself with that one. It would be great if he ever signed up on here.
Bit harsh on Colin Powell. I thought the pitch was pretty good considering the weather we've had.
maybe but he has never been the same since desert storm
Someone on Twitter said they had seen Shaun Wright Philips in the car park, soit was a shame that we sang "better than Shaun ... " less than usual and he did not break his duck.

I think I saw him in his Range rover as the number plate was SWP or something like that.
The problem is injuries and fatigue. We haven't got the same quality of player to come in when someone is injured. I would of liked to see us signed a left winger on loan just to give us that back up as JJ is slightly injury prone. The only explanation for playing Wiggins at RB is that CP was worried about a pacey left winger? Hughes being on the slow side.. As for the subs. I've never rated Waggy, too light weight and very rarely puts a effective ball in. Clarke, too slow but isn't really getting much service. Would of brought Hayes on instead. It's strange being top of the league and saying the team needs a lift but we do. JJ, Solly + Haynes coming back could well do that. Important we get back to winning ways Saturday! COYR
No team has the same quality of player and generally our reserves are better than most at this level. We do have some key performers though that push us above the other clubs. The are our entire back 4 so losing Solly then having to play the best left back in the league in a position that negated a lot of his qualities didn't help. Then missing our talismanic captain and what with needing Hollands and Stephens to bed in after a long injury break and having BWP being in a position where he can't buy a goal at th emoment doesn't help.
But things will sort themselves out and drawing a game, even though it was a tad disapointing, is far from a disaster. I am still confident that we will beat Stevenage on Staurday - we certainly are not easy to beat at home even if we are not firing on all cylinders and whilst we must give Rochdale credit - they got a fortunate goal and didn't really trouble us - more frustrated us but we had some decent chances all the same that we would have capitalised on on a different day.
Certainly no cause to panic and no need for fans to panic - We know the quality within the team and overall it is better than Stevenage have so we shouldn't be so down on things.
I tend to keep repeating myself on here but the problem with Charlton is not midfield or defence but the strike force. Kermorgant is one player who provides the ball to any one in the vicinity. The only problem is we need a striker who can read the way Yann works and bwp has yet to discover this which is why we are all marvelling at Yanns headers but they are all wasted. Clarke looked better last night and may have gained in confidence and its a shame about haynes as I think he is the answer. I dont think kermorgant should be sacrificed for bwp and hayes and yet I do want to see how hayes would work with bwp......its a difficult one. We were by far the better side with the better play and if we can keep saying this for the rest of the season then I am happy.
Right firstly we were poor all over the park, SCP made a real mistake playing wiggins at rb,
Evina looked like a young lad who hasn't played all season
Green was way off the game but waggstaff showed why he has not been playing
Bwp looked bright got in the right postions and was unlucky Yann won everything and great goal
If you would've offered me being 7 points clear of 2nd and 12 clear of 3rd
If you would've offered me being unbeaten at home in still by mid Feb
If you would've offered me 4 points from mk dons and rochdale at home
I would've took the lot
And although we were shit their keeper made 2 great saves to keep it 1 all
So poke your booing up your arse
This team and SCP have earned the right to be shit, have a sticky spell even lose a few
Now get a grip and get on with it
You wasn't saying that last night if I remember correctly you said Parkinson would have changed it early and we would have gone on to win three points lol
Once we got the tempo up, we were fine, but that was really only for 10 minutes after we had scored. Playing at tempo suits our players, but don't seem to play well or retain ball at slower pace. Controlling tempo is important part of winning games at every level surely. Some dodgy selections though in key positions too. Can only hope for a lot of learning from last night as it was awful overall.

Agree with this. Think the performance was a combination of enforced changes and Powell playing a percentages game at this stage of the season. Cautious play is an understatement of the last few games I've seen, and it's hard to watch, as it seems to make the players look even more nervy. Not seen all the away games, but the only recent time I can recall some really decent quality football was pockets of play at Fulham - a game where it did not really matter if they won or lost. Personally, I'd like to see more of a gamble taken against a team like 'Dale, but Powell knows the players best. Hope Evina recovers - poor lad's confidence looked shattered at times.
My dreams of a relaxing trot to glory seem to be going out of the window. I think if we do get sucked into the mix, it won't end well. Plenty time to pull out of the spin, but we should be doing it now (actually a few weeks ago, but we got a few results where we didn't really warrant them).
No I never , I said Powelly likes to trust the 11 he sends out and have faith in them to do the job he has planned and asked , and it is right that he does that,
We all knew he should've put wiggy at lb and changed Evina over to the bench , looked at putting green at rb or bringing on cort,
I said Parkinson would've changed it , but we would've lost
We should've and would've won 3 points Tuesday had their keeper been as shit as the rest of them , the save from I think it was kermies header was top draw as was the save soon after which we had 2 good bites at,
As a manager you need to stick with your team when things are tough it breeds a team ethic throughout the squad , it takes a brave man to do it ,
His squad selection was wrong , from the start , and imo he didn't change it quickly enough but it was 10 mins earlier than normal
People on here were asking for Evina , waggy , to play but we saw Tuesday night why they don't
The problem in these sort of games is- If Rochdale were us and we them - we would have been reported to be battered and very fortunate to get a point. But expectations are different -rightly so when you think of the relative resources of the two clubs so the game is not judged in these terms. I don't recall Hamer having anything to do other than pick the ball out of the net but their keeper made a copuple of fantastic stops.
I'm not saying we played well - we didn't but despite not being balanced and key players out and others played out of position we still could and probably should have won the game simply on the balance of play. Not a disaster and a point closer to our goal.
But we didn't batter them, yes we had a couple of chances, but the first half was pretty soporific, and it wasn't until they scored that we showed some intensity and finally got up a head of steam. And even then, they had a couple of half chances near the end.

Quite true, but I don't think that it makes our title hopes looking much less likely, because the opposition had a couple of half chances, as others are suggesting.
I know we didn't batter them, but on th eplay we jsut about deserved the 3 points all things being equal which of course they are not. Just saying if the tables were turned - they would have been deemed to have battered us. That is our lot being a big fish in a smaller pond.
I just hope hope and hope that elements in the crowd don't start booing and bad mouthing the team .. that is a sure way to ruin confidence and ensure nervous and unconvincing performances

We were awful and maybe didn't even deserve a draw, however........

GENERALly speaking

There's always been a deeply melancholic/death wish element amongst the fans at the valley .. very strange

Absolutely not Rochdale took the game to charlton & fully deserved the draw
