Wasn't good enough tonight but to be honest how long have we been playing crap and winning. Now them wins are turning into draws... dangerous.
Correct me if I'm wrong but we have only scored from a set play or penalty since January 2nd against Brentford. Exeter went down as an own goal against the keeper. Slightly worrying stat.
On today's game I thought that Stephens was always 3 yards away from the Rochdale midfield, Pritchard tries but doesn't have any real quality and I can't understand why we took Green off after 60 minutes - our main set piece taker.
I am losing my cool with the numpties around me booing whenever we pass the ball back to Hamer. I will lose it next home game with them!
I would be very pi##ed off if the Di Canio rumour has legs - I've just bought a season ticket for next year.
Regarding Wagstaff, it's very hard to get into the rhythm of a game when you come on as a sub, especially after a long time on the sidelines, so I think some of the comments on here are a bit harsh.
I was at the game and I thought it was a below par performance from us, but don't forget how much that one point meant to Rochdale.
Whilst we have been grinding out the results and not losing I think our last few performances have given some a little cause for concern. Granted tonight we had two key players out but SCP had always wanted good cover in every position. Except we don't for LM or RB!! You could sense the imbalance in the side from the off and it took us a while to get into the game which shouldn't be the case when we are at home. Rochdale couldn't have asked to play us at a better time.
However, we do seem to be missing something in our gameplay right now and we are relying on set-pieces of late to get on the score-sheet. At least this season we can take advantage from set pieces, unlike the previous two seasons, but we need more thrust and urgency from open play.
I don't really doubt we will be promoted at the end of the season only because we have put ourselves in such a good position right now, but it looks like we are going to splutter over the line on the current performances. The Blades look like they will push us all the way now and it would be a real shame for the club if they do lose the top spot right at the end. We want to go into next season with a real swagger and that we will not just be making up the numbers in the Championship. They say the team form carries over into the next season. Let's hope ours is not ending with a few lucky draws or losses.
Stevenage will certainly be a testing match and SCP will need to be as good as he was against the Massives away, or Huddersfield at home. Maybe even better if Jacko and Solly are still unavailable. Hopefully he has learnt something from tonight's game. I think we all have.
Anyway one thing is for sure. It's never been straight-forward supporting CAFC. And I guess that's why I love them so much! One Aim!
heavenSE7 - I totally know how you feel about the boos when the ball goes back to Hamer. I can only assume these people have never played the game and therefore don't understand that you need to go backwards to go forwards sometimes.
Didn't think Evina was as bad as has been suggested - at least he wanted to try to carry the ball forward, which set him apart from most of the others.
We seemed to find a bit of momentum after the equaliser, only to lose it again with the subs. Am generally a fan of Wagstaff, but like others was disappointed with him tonight. Not as much as Matt Taylor was, who gave him some very direct instructions.
Another not so good day at the office, but hopefully we should still have enough about us between now and May.
Have no doubt Jackson will be back on Saturday. If Solly has the s**ts he'll be back as well. Those two back in and Hughes for Stephens and we get the 5-1 I have been predicting.
Booing when playing the ball all the way back to the keeper or along the back four is a disgrace in itself! Sometimes in football, you have to go backwards to go forwards. Build from the back. Why force it and give possession away?

No problem with his efforts at getting forward, but he was a defender and repeatedly failed to defend which on 1 occasion cost us a goal.
Im embarrassed to post it, but I will. Was told today that Jiminez has a £30m windfall coming from a golf complex in the south of France and the club have been in talks with Di Canio promising him a war chest. Sounds like crap to me, and it's a ridiculous notion. The source is pretty reliable. My view is that if this happened they wouldn't get any more money from me. I have posted this because I heard it, NOT MY RUMOUR.....
yes ive heard this rumour too from a strong source hope its not true.
If Jimenez has 30 million war chest then why not give it to Chris Powell for an additional decent striker, cover at right back and cover at left wing ?
Not a big fan of Di Canio, with all those far right leanings he has got.
Jimenez doesn't even own the club. Why would he put £30 million of his own money into it. I don't know why these people bother.
Disapointing overall. Last 30 Minutes was much more like it though. Evina pushing forward got caught and we were exposed for their goal. Thought he did OK apart from that. Kermo MOM with Pritchard a close 2nd.
Hollands lost the CM Battle to their No8 (Hughes?) Unlucky not to score at least another goal. Great save by their keeper from Kermo's angled header.
Didn't think Clarke or Waggy offered much & thought Green was doing alright.
I thought the Rochdale no.5 was a great player for them (apart from the theatrics at the start of the match). He certainly put in a few decent tackles and got his body in the way of goal-bound efforts.
We must never play Wiggins at RB again. We could have started with Morrow there and Cort and Taylor at CB with Wiggy retaining the LB spot. Pritchard for all his endeavours does not suit the winger position. How Chris sees it is another question but 15,000 of us certainly didn't like it.
I think CP just got it wrong today in more ways than one. 1) Not the best starting lineup. 2) The subs were wrong and 3) the timing of the subs came at the wrong time (broke up momentum as AllLeftFoot alluded to above).
Let's put it down to a bad day at the office. Bring on Stevenage. Hopefully JJ will be back. :-)
The mental attitude will be better playing against a top table side on Saturday and that's why we will get 3 points. Disappointing tonight but not unexpected. We must find a way to start playing the forwards in soon as they will only start scoring when they get opportunities from the rest of the team. Also, Brad should look at his studs and make the right choice for the game on Saturday as he seems closer than ever at breaking his duck for 2012. COYR!!
I hope Powell doesn't sugar coat this performance. I'd like to see him angry for a change!
One worry I've got is that Powell must have given them a bit of a rolicking after the Bury draw, MK second half and then Tranmere away on Saturday... and nothing seems to have changed performance wise.
1) Jimenez is not the "man with the money", I know this for a fact. and 2) How did we get Yann on a free and why isn't he playing at a much higher level? Immense
I will hold my counsel for now.............we are all allowed a mistake & hopefully SCP will realise his & rectify it come Saturday, although I still beleive we will lose against Stevenage no matter what team we put out.
Remember, this is the Charlton way. We never trounce teams by 5 or 6 and always struggle against team at the bottom. I can easily see Sheff U overtaking us, but as per my opening line, I'm saying no more for now.
Hmm, play like that on Saturday and we will lose, we've been stuttering for the last few games, relying on set pieces for goals which is never a good sign. A poor night for SCP. As has been said, too many players out of position Stephens for me doesn't do enough, and in the 4 games he's been back we've only won 1. That can't be a coincidence, as he slows things up, doesn't get forward enough, and isn't a defensive tackler either Hughes should have played RB, but then he could also do a job in midfield. We won all 5 league games when he played there, with Hollands scoring several goals. The bench was a bit odd too, do we really need both Clarke and Hayes on the bench? I'm mystified why either Russell or Hughes wasn't on the bench.
I hope Powell doesn't sugar coat this performance. I'd like to see him angry for a change!
He hasn't

A difficult night against a battling Rochdale side. Phil and Grant (aka Jones and Kennedy) covered every blade of grass in midfield which highlighted the tendency of our lads (especially Stephens) to flit in and out.
We lost a lot of attacking impetus because Wiggins was forced to play on the wrong side (is Solly injured or ill?) and Evina, whilst I can't fault his effort, doesn't really look up to it and in my view was responsible for Rochdale's goal.
Thank goodness for Yann and that superb free kick because I couldn't really see where else a goal was going to come from. I'm clinging to the fact that all teams have bad days at the office, Spurs (Parker, Defoe, Bale et al) at Stevenage for instance.
Talking of Stevenage if we play on Saturday as we played tonight we can kiss the unbeaten home record goodbye.
piddle poor performance too many heroes from the early season have turned off of late hollands is treading water , stephens approach is not bringing the results of earlier and bwp is not getting them breaks there is a lack of attacking flair for the forwards to feed off and to the numerous clowns who thought kermy should be dropped perleeeease , player of the season for me he has been immense powell has earnt the breathing space but lets hope he doesnt get suffocated champions 45% runners up 45% ffs the play offs are back in the equation 10%
Not much I can add that hasn't already been said by others already. Kamikaze team selection and some bad subs. Though I think people are being harsh on Clarke unfairly tonight. I wouldn't have taken BWP off either as he looked very sharp but when Clarke came on he ran a lot, pressured their defenders and created a bit of havoc around their box. I was pleased with him tonight. Got very frustrated with Pritch repeatedly trying mad backheels and tricks on the ball tonight. Granted he was out of position but he needed to get his foot on the ball a lot more than he did. Yann was immense but he was as good on the ground as he was in the air tonight and I wanted to see the ball played to his feet more in the second half. Another excellent bit of b*starding from him to sort us out with a goal. How many players have gone for him off the ball now? How many wives has he slept with??
Stephens is a really bizarre player to watch. He mucked about on the ball with his back to the opposition goal on more than one occasion and he's a creative midfielder who sits too deep but also won't track back when needed. Wiggins is one of the most one-footed players I've seen and the decision to play him at RB is incredibly strange. Though not playing Evina there was wise as you don't give a player their full league debut out of position. For all we know Hughes wasn't fit and we made the best of what we had. Let's not forget moving Morro to RB hardly got us a great result the last time it was tried.
All in all a frustrating night that started badly when the team sheet was read out. Onwards to Stevenage hopefully with Jacko and Solly back in the 11
