  • I couldn't see a statue like that lasting at the valley very long
...but would you risk being banned from watching your team play at home for the sake of a crappy statue? Where I sit at the Hammersmith End is about 20ft away from it, and I have yet to see it 'live' and refuse even to go near it. I can assure you that there are those at Fulham that would gladly see the back of it and would willingly help it 'swim with the fishes', and there are some that are happy to look at it as a folly from our benefactor. Anyway, at least you cant see the ruddy thing from the Putney End...
You're right - do you think he'll take it with him when he goes? Serious question - when do you think he'll go and how do you think you'll do as a club once he's gone long term? Championship?
  • So there should be over 20,000 tomorrow?.

...that is difficulty to answer as nobody knows what MAF is thinking. I feel confident enough to believe he will be the benefactor up to his death. so until then we are lumbered with it. One of his sons is a director and may take over the reigns on Mr Fayed's death, and at least one of his other sons is a definite Fulham fans, so it may stay in the family - it depends on MAF's estate / will and what money does to families.

If the Fayed family did sell up, and we are still a premiership club we would be a going concern, and with a lovely new stand and established in the top flight so would still be an attractive prospect to anyone who has a fortune and wants a new plaything.

Of course if we were financially cut adrift we would go back to what we were before, a lower league team with 6,000 fans max, been there, holds no fears: it would be sad, but we are not immune, money talks and if you don't have it in the premiership you are destined for the lower leagues...

  • Welcome Fulham fans.

Is The Diver out injured again or can we enjoy giving him some abuse tomorrow?

  • No club is pointless. Every club has a history, every club is loved by its own fans.
Mk Dons havn't got no history!

A few clubs are after him (talk sport) as he is out of contract at end of the season, so there might be teams who are sniffing not wanting him cup tied...a thought

Johnson's not in our starting 11. If we really are playing our strongest team I'd expect Zamora and either Frei or Sa.

    So, they've got history then.
  • Been impressed with Fulham recently. They've got a lot of quality in Ruiz, Murphy, Dembele, Dempsey, Riise... and they create a lot of chances. Just unfortunate for them that their main striker is Bobby Zamora.
I doubt very much if Murphy ,Dempsey or Riise will play.
Not very good at predictions :-)

  • As I said on another thread I don't expect them to have as many fans as us on the day.

As I said on another thread I don't expect you to be correct. 99% sure the overall attendance will be more than 14,000.
Sorry, Beds I couldn't resist. Knew they'd have considerably more than us.

I will give you the Riise and Murphy one ( i didnt expect Jol to use his first team)
but as for Fulham having more fans than us yesterday i doubt that very much.
We had 7,000 maybe 8,000 if you count others in different parts of the ground but they certainly never had 12,000 fans there. Watching the foreign contingent in the pubs and on the tube going to the game and the reaction ( or lack of one) each time they scored i would say that more than half of that 12,000 were neutral. Giving them less than 6,000 , hence more Charlton supporters than Fulham. :)
  • That list of Fulham fans is hilarious. Bella Emberg?!!!

Ever thought of being a politician/ Russian/ Zimbabwe poll station official ?
    20,317 minus 7000 = 13,317 Fulham.
Even if there were a 1000 Charlton in home ends still =12,217 v 8000 :-)

  • Charlton 8,000
    Neutrals 6,000 ( at least)
    Fulham 6,000

Does it matter who had the most? Charlton fans made the most noise and everybody is happy. I would have preferred the scorline reflected the game a bit more possibly - 2-1 possibly but am glad we got through it unscathed and that Jol played his best team. Now for our important games- i wish Fulham all the best in the Cup.
