  • We are the world. We are the children. The are the ones who make a better day so let's start giving. There's a choice we're making - we're saving our own lives. It' true we make a better day, just you and me.

Like the area where Millwall play.....?
  • Eeeww Bermondsey
  • Feel free to fully express yourself, Owlie.
  • Alright, if we're being sensible - football is urban, so all decent football clubs are based in urban areas, all of which have problems, some of which are on the edge of beautiful areas, e.g. Kent, Peak District.

That is all I have to say.

  • Bore off, Uboat. It's Monday morning and we're trying to cheer ourselves up.

    ;o)
  • I wouldn't class either as shitholes, although I'm pretty sure London is greener than Sheffield. Richmond park is probably as big as Sheffield.
  • "

It's a surprising fact but it would be hard to find a city with more open green space than Sheffield.

Despite its urban location almost three-quarters of the city is taken up by natural vegetation and waterways.

More than a third of the city is located in the Peak District
National Park - no other city has a National Park within its boundary.

In addition you'll find 150 woodlands and 50 public parks all within
Sheffield and it is rumoured that there are 4 mature trees to every
    person living here!

Over 44 per cent of Sheffield residents live within a five minute
walk of a wood and half the city's population live within 15 minutes of
    the open countryside. Imagine that!"

  • The point is my northern chum, don't come on here giving it the large one.

And if Sheffield is such a wonderful place to live how come we've got so many norvan munkees living down here?

  • There's no way you live in Sheffield if you've got a computer either!

  • Off_it, how's the new job going for the diplomatic services matey? :-)
  • It's well grim oop north, fact.
  • Owls sounds like an estate agent

Chasing the cockney pound and sending it back up North where we get change from a tenner for 4 pints and a pack of pork scratchings for our whippet
  • Off_it, how's the new job going for the diplomatic services matey? :-)
    It's going VERY well.

My next project is to rebuild and electrify Hadrians Wall - oh and did I mention to move it to the Home Counties?

Give over, I'm far too refined to sell houses.

Might even want to consider introducing sharks to the thames?  Don't want them "Northern Londoners" coming down ere with their jellied eels and jackets covered in buttons, do we?
  • O.K. Owl, you've won this time, but you won't be winning the league!

Nah I cannot see us doing that either unless we actually sign some players, Lloyd Dyer and Neil Mellor rumoured targets
  • Neil Mellor would not interest me in the slightest but Dyer is very good

  • Mellor got 20 goals in a god awful side last year, Sheffield lad as well
  • David Mellor? chelsea fan i believe. ;-)
  • Toe sucking tory two hat
  • ... Nothing wrong with Bermondsey. We've got some parks where you might not always get raped.
    Land of hope and glory....
  • Sheffield could be worse; it could be Barnsley
  • I'd be very disapointed if we boo him - we both move on but deserves a clap and a decent welcome- we'll just take the 3 points.
  • I was responding to someone calling Sheffield an "hovel", what's good for the Goose is good for the gander, or summat like that.

Both grounds are in similar areas with terraced housing round them.
TBH I live in Sheffield and a hovel is about right.
  • I'm surprised Northern people find the time to come on here , i thought they'd be too busy counting their benefits?
  • sheffield has the green baize in the crucible every year for two weeks
