  • Will get a warm reception when he returns
  • When he returns?  I'm sure he said he never wanted to leave! ;-)
  • So much for wanting to stay with us for life if true.

That said I wish him all the best. He was a constant in our decline but is one of the few (the only even) who can hold his head up as having consistently given us his best.

  • Now we've got all these other midfielders not particularly bothered hes gone, think we've got better than him now.
  • Good luck to him, sorry to see him leave, in a better team he would have been appreciated a lot more and he would have looked a better player.
  • Gutted he's gone but there was no room for him in our new midfield. Wish him all the best.

    Lost some respect for him!

All that stuff about wanting to play for us then he joins a team in the same division.

  • Good luck to him. Think hes overrated but did give his all.

  • Don't think he's that good tomorrow, liked him though so good luck to him, don't think he'll be missed our squads better now IMO

they're buzzing their tits off about him!

Granted he was good and did his job well but way to 1 dimensional and had nothing going forward. only loved on here due to passion given,
i won't boo him. or even react when they come down to the valley.

but let's face it nobody would have him in the center of the park with the new signings anybody

semedo thanks for the effort and the commitment. but we've both moved on.
  • *shrugs shoulders*
  • Sad that he's gone, particularly to another League 1 side. Why say all that "I want to stay for life" stuff though?!
  • Can't think of many other players over the last few seasons that have actually put passion and effort in on the pitch.

He may not be the greatest player in the world but you can't argue with his desire. Good luck to him, we have a fresh midfield now and the last of the Pardew era surely now buried.

probably to up the contract offer.
  • they are goin well over the top. northerners ay.
  • From that thread sounds like a few Wednesday fans think they'll play 4-3-3/4-5-1 next season. In that case he's a very good signing for them. I was hoping they were going to use him in a 4-4-2.

Good at what he does but we hopefully have a few CMs with a more all round game now.

Will be interesting to see how they use him, quote from Megson-

"He's a holding midfielder who can play centre back as well. We have a way that we would like to play this season and having Jose is crucial to that."

  • ....because he wouldve if he was still earning 6k+ a week. Think it says it all that hes not been snapped up by a team in a higher division.

  • So he run around a lot, made the odd tackle, and passed sideways when a ball forward was an option, and was a captain who didn't lead by example.

Still don't know how he won the player of the year award
  • rothko, didn't you know crying always gets you awards?
  • Moan moan moan

cos we were absolute shit and finished 13th in a pony league , so he was considered to be the best of a bad bunch based on he played more than wright philips and jackson who were definitley better than him last year
  • wow reading their forum you would think they had signed messi, lets see what they think after a few games, i beleive many will be extremely underwhelmed.

Well I'm not surprised that he's suddenly become a worse player now he's left. I think he would have played a decent role this year but if we've got 2 of Hollands/Alonso/Stephens for 1 of his wages it's not the end of the world and we may be better off.

Or having a song people sung more, he summed up the failure for me, and the fans acceptance of it.
  • "Strengthens us & weakens them"

    "HAVE THAT CHARLTON"

Do we come across as that pathetic on this forum? Bloody hope not.

  • Johnnie Jackson deserved POTY last year. When he got injured our form dipped beyond repair.
  • Good luck to him, sorry to see him leave, in a better team he would have been appreciated a lot more and he would have looked a better player.
    Exactly, BFR.

Hey, that's not fair - everytime he put on a Charlton shirt he gave 100%. What more could you ask of a player?

So after 4 years his employer told him to leave or accept his wages cut in half.
And he's no doubt picked Sheff Weds because several of his extended family live in Sheffield.

    Put yourself in his shoes.
