So much for wanting to stay with us for life if true.
That said I wish him all the best. He was a constant in our decline but is one of the few (the only even) who can hold his head up as having consistently given us his best.
Can't think of many other players over the last few seasons that have actually put passion and effort in on the pitch.
He may not be the greatest player in the world but you can't argue with his desire. Good luck to him, we have a fresh midfield now and the last of the Pardew era surely now buried.
From that thread sounds like a few Wednesday fans think they'll play 4-3-3/4-5-1 next season. In that case he's a very good signing for them. I was hoping they were going to use him in a 4-4-2.
So he run around a lot, made the odd tackle, and passed sideways when a ball forward was an option, and was a captain who didn't lead by example.
Still don't know how he won the player of the year award
cos we were absolute shit and finished 13th in a pony league , so he was considered to be the best of a bad bunch based on he played more than wright philips and jackson who were definitley better than him last year
wow reading their forum you would think they had signed messi, lets see what they think after a few games, i beleive many will be extremely underwhelmed.
Well I'm not surprised that he's suddenly become a worse player now he's left. I think he would have played a decent role this year but if we've got 2 of Hollands/Alonso/Stephens for 1 of his wages it's not the end of the world and we may be better off.
Good luck to him, sorry to see him leave, in a better team he would have been appreciated a lot more and he would have looked a better player.
Exactly, BFR.
Lost all respect for him!
All that stuff about wanting to play for us then he joins a team in the same division.
Hey, that's not fair - everytime he put on a Charlton shirt he gave 100%. What more could you ask of a player?
So after 4 years his employer told him to leave or accept his wages cut in half. And he's no doubt picked Sheff Weds because several of his extended family live in Sheffield.

"Strengthens us & weakens them"
"HAVE THAT CHARLTON"
Do we come across as that pathetic on this forum? Bloody hope not.

Put yourself in his shoes.
