shhh, you're never allowed to mention they're names in the same sentence. They are part of something secret that noones allowed to know about, or something!

Given that we haven't appointed a manager I doubt we'd be looking to sign a coach first and then appoint the manager after. After all it didn't work out the last time we did that, so I can't imagine Murray doing it again...

Well, I think it needs to be raised. Would SCP's appointment mean the end of CL? What will be the purpose of this forum if the clique don't have anything to argue about?
If he does come and I hope so much that he does, let us cut him and the Board a bit of slack and get behind the team, good or bad performances.
I remember when he first came to us as a player there wasn't an overwhelming sense of "wow we've just hooked a very large fish", he won us over gradually by growing in stature until his consistent performances week after week drew more and more plaudits and eventually led Sven to pick him for England. I was so proud seeing him there and it was testament to his improvement as a player that he achieved that position.
I have no doubt that he is a special bloke, but we will need to have some luck and there will be bumps in the road. If we can remain patient and let him go about his work, I am certain he can deliver us the success we all crave.

Be careful the the first rule of the CL clique is that no one talks about the clique...

Well can I be the first to take issue with that, Weegie? At the risk of starting an argument, that's a ridiculous, ill-considered and wrong-headed thing to say.... lol
I think the love in is based on a little more than his skills as a defensive coach. And that's not to say he's a bad coach anyway, particularly given we enjoyed one of our best defensive records and most successful recent periods with him (and Pearson) at the club.
Anyway whenever I've seen Powell in interviews he's always come across as an absolute gentleman, a man with a passion for the game and a genuine, honest bloke. I loved his fist punching at the end of games, watching him having a laugh with the players during warm-up - the guy clearly had the respect of both players and fans for the way he conducted himself and the success we've had at the club while he was there.
Nothing wrong with a love-in as far as I can see. I'd be very sad to see him go.
Just read the comments of an ultra knowledgable tool on page 1 of the Foxes thread on Powelly, apparently this chaplette lives in Charlton and we are a shit club with shit fans with a half full...... wibble wibble etc..................These deluded Nigels sure get about!!!
If Chrissy Powell becomes our new manager I am going to go upstairs and have the customary (after-sex) cigarette in bed, ah! And I don't even smoke FFS!!
Comments
Exactly!
It is a tsunami of support, isn't it? And hopefully very hard to ignore...
