  • [cite]Posted By: LargeAddick[/cite]The more I think about it the more right this is. It would reignite the Club like no other manager appointment would and he'd be cut more slack than any other manager would. The position we are in now doesn't make us favourite for the top two spots in any way, shape or form. He would be under less pressure than Johnson or Tisdale. One day he'll be a good manager somewhere so why not with us, why not now? We may never get another chance.

    agreed
  • pal at club has just told me that he is 99% certain Powell will be next manager, just trying to finalise contract.

    As said on here before.
Don't believe nothing untill its on the official site.

    Which could take a while.
  • well said.
  • Hes not the messiah...
    .
    Sod it, yes he is!!
  • I've looked at all the managers currently available and none of them really reinvigorate my love for this club.

I've looked at the managers named previously and none of them really reinvigorate my love for this club.

I've just seen a picture of Chris Powell smiling and decided straight away he gets my full support.

The club needs a lift - the players need someone they can respect - we need to do something a little bit different. The board need someone that will capture the fans imaginations

Come home sunshine - you know you want to

  • Other than the play-off moment when Sasa saved the pen I think that was one of my best ever "moments" as a fan. Was so happy, we were all hugging each other in the NU.

The game, didnt matter, the result didnt matter but the man did matter.

    He is and I should know ... I've followed a few ;-)
  • What a great photo Swisdom, gives me goose bumps looking at it. Didn't the board reject Poyet outright because of his lack of managerial experience. Too many mistakes have been made by the board in the past...now its time to take to a punt!
  • Mick Collins on Twitter is being an Eddie Howe:

"Is chuffed indeed, Very, very chuffed, in fact..."
  • who's Mick Collins on Twitter?
  • He was the first player I've seen to leave the Valley with tears in his eyes. This has got be right.
  • Oh god i cant leave my desk for a minute... too stressy.

    Come on Chrissy Wissy!
  • I think the wave of possibility and good will he will bring will have a positive impact on the club. In a situation where we are all a bit uncertain and still reeling from a dreadful few years, some smiles and positivity could set us on a whole new path. I also do have a real belief that Chrissy is destined to be our manager and that he is the man to take us to success - just a feeling but these gut feelings can often be right. Right man, right time - please let it happen. Maybe Damien Matthew or Dailly could be his assistant. Or how about another hero coming in to help him such as Deano.

Jorge Costa had tears in his eyes when we gave him a great send-off at Old Trafford. Quite a sight, that was!

I really hope your mate is right......it will make this old mid 50's sod as "happy as a pig in...well you know the rest"

Any chance of pushing my luck and asking for Curbs as DOF????????
  • Seriously pissing me off this

I want it to be Sir Chrissy can someone please tell me if this is a windup or does this have a % chance of happening

Just think it'll be Gary Johnson and you won't be disappointed.

I think we have a 10% chance of it being him.

If this is a wind up then I'm sure the message would have got through to the powers that be by now.
  • I like everyone else loves Sir Chris and would be over the moon if he was the next manager but if it is Johnson then i still think he will be a good choice.

    THIS SHOULD HELP YOU CALCULATE

  • This has to happen and I think it has a better chance of working than almost anything else. But if the marriage turns sour or we get bored with each other, we can deal wth that down the line. Plenty of divorced couples are able to stay on good and respectful terms for the sake of a shared love of the children (in this case, our club!)

As I said last night you never quite know what will happen when you take the big step of turning a love affair into a marriage. But if you believe you have found the right girl and you don't go down on your bended and ask the question and pop that ring on her finger, then you will spend the rest of your life wondering 'what if...'

Sir Chrissy Powell, will you marry us? For better and for worse, in sickeness and in health etc etc etc !!!

    No wind up.

Nothing is ever guaranteed, but i think the chances of this now happening are incredibly high.

Chrissy Powell's red and white army !!
  • I noticed Luke Varney had DJ Campbell on his shoulders in a similar fashion last night.

I will never forget that moment Sir Chris drifted in toward the back post and POWELL there it is.
