Parky - sticking my neck out

  • Sounds just like what Parkinson is aiming to do. Mixture of frees, cheap signings, mainly youngsters that want to prove they're up to it and older players proving they're still good players, and of course a few decent loans.
  • I really think the only thing we need next season is a goalscorer who can guarantee us 20-25 goals and another who can get us 15 or so.

Well Burton got 5 in half a season, so should be good for 10

    ;o)
  • There is only one player in the world who can guarantee 20-25 goals a season and that is Ronaldo and he would cost about £100 million. He would score that many goals whatever team he was playing in. What we need is a manager/coach who can coach the team and implement strategies that mean we dominate possession and make numerous runs, crosses and passes into the opposition's penalty area. The more of these runs, crosses and passes we make the more chances we create. The more chances we make the more goals we get. If we dominate teams like we did Norwich last Sunday I think Burton will get 20-25 goals next season.
  • you sure Red?
  • To think when we sold Varney, he was gone for a Burton
  • Varney and Burton upfront would have worked i reckon.
  • Bump - I miss this thread it was rather entertaining

certainly more entertaining than some of the sides Parky put out.
  • lol There we go!

  • So who's now put a bet on Parky staying/going?
  • So who is on the Fence now? and who is on which side A go or B stay?

State Fence or side a or side b.

    Me Personally FENCE
  • a big fat a, for all the reasons stated previously

After yesterday, I completely stand by what I've said in the past few weeks: he is a good manager because he can bring the best out in the players, and given the close season to shape the squad and build fitness, I do believe he can do a job for us. He is also a sensible, intelligent guy - loved the programme notes. If it were my decision, I would stick by him. He knows the players, he know the set-up, and he knows and accepts the financial situation.

He cares and has something to prove to all of us and to himself.

    Roll on Div Three...

Back on the 4th May, and Charlton freshly relegated .......Weegie wrote the above, far seeing and bang on the nail.
I also recall she seemed to be the first one to rumble Sooper Alan Pardew.

    So kudos to Weegie.

Qudos to this fella as well. Early days I know, but Burton has definitely started like a striker capable of getting 20+ goals this season and I think anyone who saw that coming really was in the minority and I say that as man who has long defended Burton.

    But she's a girl!!!! ;-)
  • Burton, I wdnt have thought he would get 20 in the champs, but we aren't in the champs
  • Yes, Kap - we're the ones that know...even about football...!

    ;-)
  • Well worth reading again, was a good debate
  • although not as opposed to Parky as I was previously my own particular jury is still out. I was singularly unimpressed with his inability to change the side second half last week and I await the mythical Plan B to show itself. If not winning tomorrow with 15 mins to go he will need to do something to affect the game, probably formation wise, but can he ? Time will tell. Doing much better but still a lot to do.

Well third level clique members can do it automatically but you will have to quote from the same page and then cut and paste into the yellow box then change the quotees name.
