  • 34 yr old...any good?
  • He was OK, I'd say fairly similar to Stewart.

Looked awesome as a youngster before making a duff move and not getting 1st team football
  • Danny Green in talks with Peterboro now. I think that's the end of our chances of signing him...
  • Think Green is definitely Championship bound unfortunately... would definitely rather he's there than SWFC though
  • Maybe because most rumours are made up or flights of fancy.......?
I think you've hit the nail on the head there Oggy. 99% of the rumours we're talking about were dreamt up by lonely teenagers in their breaks between jacking off to youporn. No glamour in being a centre back so the rumours focus on forwards and midfielders.
  • Apparently we're looking at Cray Wanderers full back and player of the year Alex Bentley. He's about 20/21 I think.

Hartlepool also possibly interested in Cray's Danny Phillips, who was here as a youngster.
  • I just checked with Danny Phillips and he said that they were interested, he did hear that but nothing has come of it, so far. He has been too busy trying to impress the Charlton scouts!
  • Marcel Seip is the latest to appear on football rumours. Quite plausible though.

Also someone claims Hayes has turned down Watford and will sign for us this week, along with Clayton Donaldson.

Let's face it - we just don't know!

  • There is alos one on there saying we will sign Thierry Henry on loan. And that Semedo will move to Sheff W to be near his brother.

Someone is watching the CL site, feeding info into FR and having a bloody good laugh when we all start arguing about it.

  • Henry has lost it all now, don't rate him!

    @ISLS

Lost it when he started wearing cardigans ;0)
  • Why would Semedo have a brother in Sheffield? I would've imagined all his family would be in Portugal
  • Skysports.com understands Colchester have rejected an offer from Charlton for Magnus Okuonghae.

    Okuonghae: Bid rejected
The 25-year-old defender has produced a series of impressive
performances for Colchester since arriving from Dagenham & Redbridge
    in 2009.
His fine form has not gone unnoticed, though, and Charlton are believed to have lodged a bid for his services.
Although the offer was turned down, the Addicks are now thought to be poised to make a second approach.
Okuonghae is also understood to have attracted interest at Championship level and it remains to be seen where his future lies

  • Oh no, not a centre back .....we need strikers, lots of them.

Where's Pardew when you need him ....?
  • From wikipedia- Affectionately nicknamed "The Beast" by the U's fans, Okuonghae has held the captain's armband for much of his first season with Colchester.

6 ft 3 according to wiki as well.

Looks like he's probably one of the big physical players Powell is targeting. Seems we'll do well to get him with there being Championship interest, but good to see we're looking at the better players in this league.

Why would Semedo not have a brother who has moved to Sheffield?

  • Just think as we plucked him from Portugal if his family moved over here I would've thought it they'd live near London, I'm just guessing
  • From wikipedia- Affectionately nicknamed "The Beast" by the U's fans, Okuonghae has held the captain's armband for much of his first season with Colchester..
Anyone nicknamed "The Beast" should always be signed, regardless of whether he's any good

In that case there is a goal keeper and a striker we should be trying to sign then...

a bit injury prone according to my Colchester season ticket holding colleague, good player if he can stay fit apparently.

Some Oldham fans seem to think that Cedric Evina is going to Charlton.

19 year old Left Back, Ex Arsenal, and wants to move "Darn Sarf".
  • They don't seem too gutted he might be going. Anyone seen him and remember him?
  • lightweight rubbish try Barnet Cedric.
  • Racon rumoured to be in talks with Derby County.....according to Football Rumours..... so it cant be true.

Crock of shite as it says that Nigel Clough was impressed with him in the 2010/11 season. Maybe he watched our last ten games.
  • No wonder he only got on for 15 mins against Panama, he was obviously on the blower to Cloughie in the first half
  • Okuonghae is a brute. Always rated him. Would be a quality signing.

I agree, and I'm greatly looking forward to our new centre back pairing of Aleister Crowley and Dennis Skinner.
  • Miracle that Racon is in talks - at the same time he is playing at the CONCAF tournament.
