  • Agree Oggy!

He'd have the keeper cornered like this!
  • What a great picture, Dazzleer!

Is that your little fella ?

No, its his finger Oggy. :-)
  • Nah that's just off google reminded me of my kitten when he was still a kitten he used to do that. Now he is a moody cat except:

A - When he wants food time

B - When he wants to attack my toes in bed

C - When he wants to go out.

Still love him though - ;o)

Perhaps your cat is an Addick.

He's not really moody, just depessed.

Punish him, Dazzler .... take him to the QPR match.

    Edit: Dickson, Dickson, Dickson.
If Dickson started tomorrow, he score 11 goals in 14 minutes just like he did for Gillingham.

See, AFKA ..... still on topic

    ;o)

tbh from this video I can see dicko as an attacking midfielder http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=c_gtijkXJIs
  • Interesting few quotes from Parkinson in the Newshoppers latest story.

"“Ever since I got the job I’ve said people that get a chance have got to deserve it and Jonjo falls into that category because of what he’s done in training.”

What does that suggest about Dickson?
  • It suggests that he doesnt deserve it.

  • It's a shame Parkinson doesn't practice what he preaches. Dickson scoring week in, week out for reserves - in my opinion that would constitute deserving a chance, particularly when our current first choice forwards are performing so dismally.
It's utterly unbelievable that, despite clearly being in a dire financial situation, the club has still found the money to pay for a teenager from Sunderland and a proven non-goalscorer from Sheff Wed to be given chances ahead of him.
Dickson will be gone by the end of this month - at the very least we will have lost someone with a proven record in the division which we will most likely be playing in next season and at worst we will have thrown away a player who could have scored the goals to give us a slim chance of escaping relegation.
  • what is dicksons record this season in the ressies (goals per game?)
  • Scored 7 in the last 8 games and scored in each of the last 3 games. Got more goals than McCleod who has been deemed worthy of starting a game this season.
  • Dickson has only ever played in one reserve game that he didn't score in.
  • so why isn't he getting 2 or even 3 though?
  • 7 in 8 for the reserves is enough to warrant more than a 10 minute sub appearance for the first team every few weeks, particularly when we're in the middle of our worst ever run of form. Or do you think we'd be better off continuing to play Burton - 1 goal in 7 so far?!
  • ( I agree dude was being silly)
  • We can stick a rake up his rear-end so he can sort the pitch as well. Still wouldn't get a game.
  • [cite]Posted By: razil[/cite]so why isn't he getting 2 or even 3 though?

I think Razil is trying to get as many in the net as possible here.

Shame that Parky and Pards before him, haven't recognised that it is goals that win games and goalscorers can't do that sitting in the stand. Still, if Parky is happy to carry on buying and playing forwards who have a record of one goal in open play from their last 26 starts then at least we can't say we didn't know pretty early that there really never was any hope for us.
  • From that quote by Parky though it sounds like Dickson isn't putting enough effort in to earn a place in the team, despite there being strikers who AREN'T scoring. Does that suggest that there is an attitude problem? A place up for grabs, and not fighting for it.

As for Parky, can he be seen to be giving opportunities to those not trying hard enough in place of those who do? What message would that send out to other players- being dropped in place of those who maybe stroll around the training ground and not trying hard enough? Especially in our situation where we need everyone working as hard as possible.

I'm not against Dickson, and with his goalscoring expoits in the reserves and at Gillingham, it does seem strange that he hasn't been given much of an opportunity. However, that MUST be for a reason, and perhaps his work (or lack of) on the training ground is that reason?

  • not giving him a few starts is one of the major factors in me thinking Parky has about as much clue as Pardy..
  • i haven't read all of this thread as i came in late so sorry if this is repetition.... but someone on here said that they spoke to dickson after Parky took over as caretaker and he said parky didn't like him much and he wouldnt get a game. It sounds like he was right.

dickson has been criticised by pardew and his manager at gills for only being able to contribute as a finisher. charlton's problem is we dont create many chances. a player who will 'only' contribute by finishing off a high percentage of the chances that come his way sounds like exactly what we need.

I posted about Parkinson not liking Moutaouakil, you're not confusing it with that are you?

Though it seems likely that he doesn't rate Dickson either.
  • hmm i thought i read something about dickson. sorry if i've got mixed up with yassin.

either way, as you say he doesn't seem to have time for dickson either. i really think dickson could poach us a few goals if he got a chance
  • I think he would, though he might not do anything else for the rest of the game.

At the moment I don't think that would bother anyone at all.
  • Tricky stated: However, that MUST be for a reason, and perhaps his work (or lack of) on the training ground is that reason?

So what? We have had proven goalscorers (they used to call them poachers) like Killer who probably hated training.... It is madness to sideline someone just because he's a goal hanger or does not like training or even has a penchant for fooling about...

Burton - one in seven and that was a penalty methinks!

    Enough said............
  • I thought Dickson did well in his cameo on Satdy.
  • agreed. goals is what we need nd dickson seems to be the most likely option we'v got in th squad to achieve tht. if he'd have been on on saturday while it was 1-0 we might hav been able to convert some of th chances we had before it got to 1-1.

plus, if Parky's so keen keeping players motivated then persisting with strikers who consistently fail to score surely leaves them in the comfort zone. if dickson came in and did get a couple of goals, maybe the others would buck up their ideas up next time they got a game. otherwise it'll just be gray for a couple weeks, then burton for a couple of weeks, then back to gray etc as both fail to score.

nd yeh dickson managed a couple of lay offs, put in a dangerous cross after doing well on the left wing nd got a shot away on sat which isn't bad for 10mins compared to what Burton did for 80mins. based on that I'd say Dicksons hungry
  • If you speak to any Spurs fan they'll tell you Bent has a rubbish first touch. He did very little for us apart from sit on the last defender's shoulder and score shed loads of goals. Dicko if given the chance would do a similar job IMHO. So what if he doesn't link well? Gray or Toddy should be doing that.

Toddy is a class player who needs match fitness, but he won't get that sitting on the bench. Even an unfit Toddy is a better forward than Gray.
