They are a franchise outfit, and I wish them relegation for the next ten seasons. But sadly they are in the league and as such we have to deal with them .... if we agreed a friendly as part of signing a player, then so be it. Unfortunately the club has to be professional and deal relatively normally with them, so I reluctantly voted yes on the basis that the game is part of a player deal.
Fans should continue to make noise about the franchising, so that the FA do not let it happen ever again.
As Rothko says, we should offer a friendly to AFC Wimbledon - ideally on the same day :-)
[cite]Posted By: stonemuse[/cite]Never been to Bromley's ground - might be a good idea for a day out! Any good pubs near the ground?
not really, two good bars in the ground and you can carry the beer out on to the terrace. Quite a few pubs in Bromley town centre but that is a fair hike on a Saturday around the 19th July, for example, when the weather is likely to be warm

I believe that should we play them at The Valley in the league I would attend, should it be a cup game them I would have to give it some serious thought as they would get a share of the gate money, but no way would I attend a game at their place and donate my cash to them. I`d willing give the value of the ticket to Demelza and stay away
[cite]Posted By: AFKABartram[/cite]I think the liklihood is that on the same day of this game, we will also be sending another side out closer to home.
I know which game i will make a point of attending.
MK Dons then.
Depends where the other game is and if I really want to go to an away pre-season friendly that isn't at Welling or Bromley.
i wouldn't go,we have already lined their pockets with one of the worst signings i have ever seen ;-) seriously i have some very good memories of watching Wimbledon when Dickie Guy played in goal for them (next door neighbours brother). He is now honuary president of AFC.Hopefully AFC will take heart from what Aldershot have achieved.
Let's lobby the club to play a friendly against AFC instead.Yes we may be obligated to play a friendly against bit who says it has to be the first team?
what made my gut turn was that slimey snide chairman of theirs old Winkleman trying to make out they'd been really good by giving back wimbledon everything that was previously theirs such as the trophys and medals , yeah but not the league place you thieved you scum of the earth.
I will never go to that ground don't matter how important the match is , he and they are scum and should always be treated as such and the fact we are playing a friendly against them makes me think that some people at the club have very short memories
I voted No. I accept we'll have to play them at some point in the league or cup which I'll have to make a decision then whether to go or not. But I would not encourage a friendly which is what the question is asking. I'll be making no effort what so ever to go to the game if it goes ahead.
I still keep remembering just how close Charlton came to being the first Franchise FC, when Sunley's 'saved' the club and 'sold out' to Selhurst ......
Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But i must be honest, when i put the poll up, i never expected the 'time to move on' vote to be so high.

I guess it depends if the Wimbledon FC battle has been lost or not. All the time fans are campaigning to bring the club back home I'd feel very uneasy about any kind of implied 'support' from CAFC PLC.
As has been said elsewhere ... there, but for the grace of God..........

I think that's a great idea - and would also be interesting to see how many turn out for each game.
Sort it out Waggot.

Know too many Wimbledon fans.....(about 3 anyway)
Uncle Bulgaria, Tobermory and Orinoco?
I have done a re-count and I've exaggerated that.
Its actually 2.
It was so nearly us.
I'm the other way round.

I hate it when I see the media seemingly supporting what went on.
