Go back to Crawley at home with about 6k in the stadium yet people still moaning that only 22k there yesterday,Kelman , doc , Kaminski, Campbell all crap apparently even dog shit, how about having a day off and getting behind this team , dear lord imagine being that Fooking Miserable COYR
I've read a bit of the Watford forums quotes. Many fairly balanced about how their team played. The overriding comments were about they've made a lot of signings, the manager is still trying to find the right combinations etc, etc. Jones started with 50% last years team, and 50% newbies. (roughly!) What amazed me was , the first game of the season, with this many changes, we played like a team, Watford didn't. It was helped by Carey and Apter playing together for Blackpool, but the understanding of positional sense , their responsibilities was evident from the KO. Greg Docherty has come under some criticism, and I agree that he didn't have his best game, but we must persevere with his captaincy. He is an organiser and a talker, an experienced head in a difficult league, and my view he brings experience to quite a youg side. I watched the YouTube clip that somebody posted, where it was a clear plan for the winning goal. Jonsey pushing his marker, Doch, not doing much, then as soon as the ball is in the air, Doch rushes in, blocks both Jonsey's marker, and other players block the goalkeeper from coming for what was quite a loopy cross. Jones wins the header and the rest is history. Hats off to the free kick/corner coach, it now looks a completely planned execution. If Doch was not on the puitch at this time, would it have gone so smoothly?
Clean sheet ✅ Relentless in the press ✅ Kept going right to the end as the opposition tired ✅ Jones is a monster ✅ Ramsay making it look easy ✅ Coventry everywhere✅ No way past Edwards ✅
Plus encouraging debuts from a lively Carey and Apter and a debut goal for the Knibbster.
Not sure how good Watford are but a very encouraging start. Sweet to be the only promoted team to win on the opening day.
Oh and how much more entertaining is Championship football?!? Brings home what a slog League One has been.
Not sure how i added to your post above.l agree chsmpionship is way better than league one
Take a look at the movement of Lloydy in this clip (11-20 secs). Excellent.
That is excellent and also brilliant from docherty who confuses them by ignoring his marker and grabbing jones marker to enable Jones to do what he wants, nice set play
What that showed as you said was the player who was pushing and shoving with Jones was then blocked off by Doc just as the corner was taken taking him out of the equation completetly. It was very clever and sneaky. Doc just stepped in.
Who was the player who shifted the ball left on the edge of the box up the other end, had a clear sight of goal, *Shoot" from the fans and he pushed it wide to TC or was it Edwards? Came to nothing.
My biggest takeaway from the game was that irrespective of the goal we looked stronger than them in the last 10 minutes. That bodes really well for the rest of the season.

Think it was Docherty if I am thinking of the same chance, but from my seat I don't think it was clear enough chance as bodies were in the way. If we had lost possession would have been in real trouble during the counter attack .

It was Docherty. Trying to engineer a shot on his left foot and when he decided to go for it the ref was in his way.
I was pleased to read a number of comments on Twitter asking questions like how can I team from league one with fitter and stronger than the end of the game? We were dead on our feet and yet they looked fresher.
As a side issue, did anybody else hear that bunch of Watford fans in Floyd Road after the game singing:- "We lost last week and we lost today, We lose at home and we lose away..." I didn't catch the next bit, but they didn't sound happy
They were singing “Back to back relegations!” at London Bridge. And that was before the game!
I'd assume they were singing about Luton suffering back to back relegations.

Went to read comments on Watford’s post match podcast, they replied to a comment from one of our fans and picked out TC as a player who hurt them.
I'm not surprised they noticed that. We are weirdly critical of TC on here, fans were always very quick to jump on him during the Holden/Appleton times and it doesn't take much to turn them even now after he was a key player in our promotion. He was so involved yesterday. He misplaced some very
simple passes which was frustrating but his passing rate was 15/20 for
75%, which is decent for a player who will be looking to play passes that are more likely to be cut out. Carey's passing rate for instance was 13/19 for 68% . The rest of TC's effort was huge though. He had 32 touches, won both his ground
duels, blocked a shot that he threw himself at, created 1 big chance,
made a clearance and won a free kick. He worked his socks off. Kelman in comparison touched the ball 14 times, completed 3 of 5 passes, lost
possession 5 times and made one tackle. He didn't involve himself
enough unlike TC who found space and demanded the ball. Campbell was always the one who was forcing their defence back, stopping them from pushing up too high and threatening to run in behind. They were visibly worried every time he got on the ball. Those couple of misplaced passes are all that some of our fans seem to have noticed though, it's bizarre

Ah probably. But they weren’t a happy lot. One group were singing about Tom Cleverly and another lot were telling them to move on. They were very respectful of the remembrance applause though, to be fair.
Think we are going to have to take our chances when offered, great to get the win and I look it as 3 points on the board and 42 more to go to be safe be great to get to that point sooner rather than later.
Deserved the win Watford were awful that Being said a slip up from our goalie nearly gifted them a goal.
