    I quite enjoyed the second half after almost giving up and doing some gardening at half time. Hard to fault the effort and we should have won comfortably. However, it is clear that our stand-ins, T Taylor apart,  are a downgrade so it will be important to get our best 11 on the pitch consistently. How on earth we can have a fortnight off and come back with injuries is beyond me but hey ho. If we could somehow morph TT and Coventry with the delivery of the former and the industry/nous of the latter we’d have a player!  I will have a proper look when I finally get to a game next week but watching on a stream it is difficult to see what Docherty contributes. He’s invisible. Maybe I’ll think differently when I see hm in the flesh. Its been a bit of an “in” joke, but something now seriously needs to be done about S Brown.  His verbal diahorea is spoiling the stream now. I watched the Stockport stream from half time as I’d had enough. What a refreshing change to actually be able to hear the odd moment or two of silence. And their views of N Jones (“ a very odd character”) were pretty accurate and not offered in any bad way.  They were very complementary about the Valley and our fans.

    Two points dropped and our goals return continues to be lamentable but there were positives there.

    Stockport were a cynical time wasting side and the ref was useless - he should have booked a few of their players in the first half. By the time he did his job, it was too late.

    We were OK - a bit iffy in defence a few times, but i thought TT was outstanding and Tyreece and Miles were also very good.

    Unlucky not to win it, but the effort was great.

    Well done Nathan and the team.

    Positives are fine. But this season was supposed to be about promotion. On these results?

    Sometimes it just doesn’t go your way. Deserved more from the game, and there were some positives, for sure.

    Lloyd Jones was a massive miss. Without him we’re aerially vulnerable at the back.

    We also really lacked that big man up front, and we looked a different proposition when Miles came on. Going forward, if he can stay fit, I can see us scoring a lot more goals. He looked dangerous every time he got the ball, and could have scored a hattrick in the relatively short time he was on the pitch.

    And another big positive for me was Karoy Anderson who is growing as a presence on the pitch with each game. I thought he was excellent today.

    Btw, did Stockport set a record today when they started time wasting in the 12th minute? Had they won, I think I’d have been on the pitch.

    Even their GK wasted a minute pulling his socks up.

    The Ref was a joke.

    It's down deep about consistent three pointers...winning, and more than a few clean sheets in the frame. This was a win gone begging.

    I can’t knock the effort today, but why do all our strikers look good only when they come off the bench, we need to start on the front foot and get the lead because we normally see out games when we do this.

    We will struggle away to Barnsley if Jones, Kanu, Ramsey, Tyreece, Chuks all missing.

    Made the point in the players marks but if the game is going to deal with crazy game management, the correct additional time has to be played. Otherwise it is being rewarded. I felt today was double figures and nearer 12 or 13 minutes than 10. Playing only 7 was a joke but I suppose it was consistent with the ref's performance in general.

    Useless finishing. Not a chance of play offs
    We’re three points off third with 35 games to play ffs
    Should have won today, then we'd be 5th and a point off 3rd.

    People claimed we were great in the first half, we definitely weren't, we were just better than a terrible Stockport side. Second half we were a lot better though and should have buried them
    We were the better side first half. The doom mongering on here is a joke.
    Where's the doom mongering? We're saying the same bloody thing!

    Anderson is nothing more than a squad player at best. He ran around chasing shadows today.

    Taylor = very good
    Leaburn = dominant
    Gillesphy = not good
    Ramsey and Jones being injured = worrying
    Ref = useless
    Charlton's prospects = unsure

    We had 2 clear chances and they didn't have a shot on target in open play. I admit the comment isn't aimed at you per se but we were the better side.

    All this stuff about us being the better side:

    It was a draw.

    The point is to win.

    Marking time, be better next time.

    I think any midfielder who doesn't create tends to seem anonymous Mutley, I can't fault their work rate but we had four players in our midfield and they all worked hard but only one, Taylor, demonstrated an ability to change the game in our favour. I think Jones needs to find a system that accommodates both Coventry and Taylor, whether that would work is anyone's guess.

    Agreed. Would love to see what the Gassman could offer coming off the bench.
    Obviously Aneke but TC and even Godden always look better when coming on.
    Hopefully with Leaburn we might soon have a starting striker that offers a threat...

    I think Anderson was everywhere and he played some good balls as well as some loose ones. I don't think it is fair on him people missing this.

  • Our number 12 looked very good today.Is he a new signing?
  • Seems quite a few on here writing us off already, it's not even the end of October...and don't say realism, 'cos being a realist is that we still have 35 matches to go and are just a few points off top six...really is strange some stuff we read after a game we should have won at a canter, sometimes lady luck just ain't at the game...

    Started the wrong 11 as usual.
    Played the most boring, negative football for 45 mins.
    Brought on 2 decent tactical subs but took off Doc instead of Karoy.
    Entertaining second half to earn a point, which puts us mid table.
    Nothing to get excited about for this season.

    Agreed, thought he was much better at finding the right pass for the first 60 mins or so. Probably not quite good enough (yet) to play passes as quickly as he does but love the fact he never hides and is never afraid to keep playing. Won a fair bit in the air as well.

    Anderson created one of our best chances of the match with his pressing and won tons of throw ins with his pressure on their defenders which then led to chances. He does loads of the unattractive dirty work. I have no idea why he gets slated on here so often, he’s a 19yr old academy graduate who never gives up, chases every ball and plays with his heart on his sleeve. It’s everything fans say they want from players but for him it’s not good enough
    Because work rate and pressing is easy to write off as “every player should do it”. They don’t though, if they did he wouldn’t get in the team.

    Bizarre to pick out Anderson for criticism with A Campbell and Docherty's displays today. We didn't look in danger before or after their penalty. With a fully fit Leaburn, we win that game every time.

    As an aside, I brought a friend to the game and he thoroughly enjoyed it and thought we looked a good side. By contrast, he watched the dire game v Derby last season and couldn't believe how much better we were.

    Happy to be a doom monger. We missed at least 4 gilt edged chances including 2 from Leaburn. Joke finishing.
