Enjoyable game and still starstruck after being tapped up by @Braziliance before kick off. If we play like that every week we'll be challenging at the right end of the table in the spring.
Watched my son play in a rugby tournament today so missed the football. In the last of the games today, the referee was about 70, didn't appear to be able to keep up with play and called about 70% of decisions wrongly, mostly to the benefit of the opposition, i had to stand 40 yards away from play or i would have got sent home.
Sounds like he had a better game than the Charlton v Stockport ref.
You'll get 6 or 7 different players each week, giving 7+/10, while the rest are putting in 5's and under. Just need for them to all turn up giving 7+ each game, and we might start getting something out of these games.
Anderson and T. Campbell are perfect examples. Obviously good players in there, but don't always show up and, when they do, there'll be others under-performing elsewhere who usually do alright.
A bit of overall consistency from the whole team would be nice
Not happy. Too much sideways and backwards until leaburn came on. Tyreece the bright spark before then and a vital player for us. Likely missing next game or more as seemed to do his hamstring in the last minute. Ramsay awesome also likely to be missing for a bit.
Docherty, A. Campbell, Godden, pretty invisible. Will be interested in how Exiled_addick's sub thread takes shape 're creativity. Fed up with the mistakes and negative play in a winnable game like that.
I thought Charlton played well but what you don't do is give a side like Stockport a lead to defend and that's what our two centre backs did. They looked shaky and played like two strangers, against a side that hardly threatened, plus we missed Lloyd Jones's threat at the other end. On the plus side, we created lots of chances, probably the most I've seen at the Valley this season, Leaburn looked better than at Bristol and Taylor gave us a threat from the dead ball. Jones may have been hampered by injuries today but he needs to give this side freedom to attack, there were signs that he may now have the players available to allow us to threaten and dominate opponents as poor as Stockport. A brief word about the Hatters as well, not a good side and am struggling to think if there was a worse side to visit the Valley so far this season, their bookings will mount up and their lack of threat will not help them.
Like others thought Taylor had a very good game, not just his dead balls, which were largely great and some superb, but some smart passes (not all sideways) too. One I remember in 1st half, outside of right boot down inside left channel.
Leaburn was very good, better than I expected, and better back to goal than I remember him being. But some poor decision making, especially not picking out Berry who had an open goal and was fuming. Think Berry then a few mins later didn’t play Leaburn through who was clear on the right and instead played to Godden’s feet and he was outnumbered.
Missed Lloyd Jones. Can’t believe the penalty incident would have happened with him on the pitch.
Blimey, when their keeper went down in the 88th minute I thought they were re-enacting the charge of the light brigade back to their bench - it was so contrived. The ref was completely mugged off.
Should have won. A bit of match sharpness and Miles would have had a couple. TC was excellent, ran then ragged, but he's not a striker. Long term Leaburn and Goddard should work well together. Thought TT had a great game, decent set pieces too, can he and CC play together? I hope so because honestly Docherty and A. Campbell are useless. People moan about Anderson but at least he has energy, gives 100% and cares. Not sure the same can be said of the other two. Just hope that Ramsay, and Jones, injuries are not too bad because both are massive misses. Thought REG did okay though. Ref was awful again. Not sure I can blame him for the keeper going down and conning him, what else is he meant to do? But giving a free kick when two of their players foul each other?
Genuinely feel like the team is coming together now. Taylor superb. Leaburn is going to be in the prem one day. IN JANUARY
Dominated from start to finish.
Ref appalling.
Need to take our chances.
Fixed it for you.
If he stays fit, plays like he did today consistently and doesn't sign a new contract - which let's be honest is highly unlikely I suspect - the club have got little option but to sell him when one of the big boys comes calling in January.
We’re three points off third with 35 games to play ffs
Should have won today, then we'd be 5th and a point off 3rd.
People claimed we were great in the first half, we definitely weren't, we were just better than a terrible Stockport side. Second half we were a lot better though and should have buried them

Agreed about those three players. Doc saw more of the ball but played it backwards. Taylor tried to play it forwards. Anderson got dispossessed al least 6 times. Should really have won that.
Some surprise expressed at my giving Docherty such a low player mark. Honestly I thought his performance was dreadful. He didn't look to impose himself, he passed backwards even when forward options were on, he was flimsy. How he's our skipper I have no idea but if he starts again on Tuesday I'll be mildly annoyed

Not sure what you mean? 2nd half was better but we still should have scored at least 2 first half.

We were the better side first half. The doom mongering on here is a joke.

4 points from Birmingham and Stockport is a good return, but unfortunately 1 win from our last 5 is not.
Need to start with Leaburn & Godden up front and Berry in midfield. One of TC or Dixon out wide & swap in 2nd half.
And for the umpteenth time.......we need to score first. When we do we dont usually lose. When we concede first we dont usually win.
And finally......must have for the January window.......
A playmaker / creator in midfield.

Think you wanna moan for the sake of moaning.
