I know this next statement is aggressive but christ, we have some miserable people on here. We have found a system that works and utilises our players to the best of there abilities. .
I am miserable mate, proper miserable! I sit in the stadium willing the team on yet bored with another blank first half and leave frustrated we aren’t good enough to beat very average teams who show limited ambition to win a game themselves.
I then get home and see us in the league table with a quarter of the season played behind the likes of Stevenage, Mansfield, Exeter, Stockport and Wycombe, whose budgets are minuscule compared to ours.
I hate this league, it’s ever increasing shithousing and limited football and I have no conviction in us getting out of it again!
Hope you have Morrissey playing in the background reading that:-)
I sorta get that but my overall point is we played well and on another day, we win. Last year before NJ, they beat us. Not ideal to not win but it will come.
Won't have that Millwall loving turd playing thank you very much. 😂

A frustrating afternoon, with a game shaped by Gillesphey’s early gift to Stockport. Once they had their noses in front, they were very happy to conserve energy and sit deep in the first half and let us play in front of them. Apart from a jinking run by Tyreece Campbell, the only threat from us came from Terry Taylor’s excellent set-plays, which drew a couple of saves from their keeper.
I thought we started the second half slowly but things livened up considerably once Jones introduced Miles Leaburn up top alongside Godden, with Tyreece Campbell able to assume his natural position out wide and torment their right back. Why is Jones so reluctant to play three up front ? This was a game we should have won but a combination of gifting the opposition a goal, missing the target and good goalkeeping meant we had to settle for a point - a point which leaves us stuck in mid-table and some way adrift from the top 2.
Defensively, aside from the goal, we restricted Stockport to one good effort on goal from Louis Barry, but I’ll be a lot happier once Lloyd Jones is back. We missed his aerial prowess and general authority at the back, as well as in the opposition box. We also have to hope that Kayne Ramsey’s injury is one he can shake off, as we need his quality.
Terry Taylor’s set-plays were, with the exception of the last one, excellent and I thought he made a compelling case for keeping his place. Alan Campbell had a very poor game in the first half prior to being hooked and Docherty wasn’t much better. These two are not looking good and nor am I impressed with Berry, who put in a few good passes but is a liability out of possession. The midfield remains an area of concern and, given the players we have, I hope that Jones goes for a 4-3-3 formation to try and attack opponents from out wide. Would the loan of a creative midfield player be amiss in January ?
Up front, Godden offered very little and was disappointing. Stockport were unable to cope with Tyreece Campbell, especially when he moved out wide and was able to roast defenders 1 v 1, whilst there was an excellent cameo for Miles Leaburn. Great to see him back out there and he looked a cut above.
This is a game we should have won and, ultimately, it’s 2 points cast to the wind. There were, however, some pluses, namely, the excellence of Terry Taylor’s set-plays, Tyreece Campbell’s continued good form, a fine cameo from Miles Leaburn and the first sight of young Kaheim Dixon.
Let’s hope we can get a result at Barnsley and turn up the heat on Wrexham next Saturday.
My first look at Taylor and was impressed. Looks as though he sees things that other midfielders don't. Even better performance when you consider how long he's been out.
Thought Anderson did well too. Said to Chippy at HT that Anderson could be a slow burner that comes good. Certainly his attitude will get him a fair way on the journey.
If Leaburn keeps that sort of rampaging up, he'll be gone in January.
Well I’m fuming after that. But I agree it was in some ways an encouraging performance.
I am mainly fumingt that we did not see off that execrable pub team managed by that execrable ex-pub team player Dave Challinor, who some people on here seem to have forgotten, effectively ended Martin Pringle’s career. Stockport are very much his team. They and he can go **** themselves.
I’m fuming at the ref of course, although I’m afraid that he’s right on the penalty. He lost it completely in the second half, most hilariously when two pub team players collided with each other and he gave them a free-kick. There should have been 10 mins injury time at least although its not clear who takes responsibility for that.
i’m fuming because if we had Alfie May he grabs a couple of goals in that last half hour. I quite like Godden, but he doesnt provide the constant 97 minute menace that Alfie does. And I definitely dont appreciate reading tweets during the first half that if his effort that shaved the post had gone in, the Brum goal of the season is already settled.
I’m fuming because we managed to injure Lloyd Jones in training and now rumours circulate that he’s out for 8 weeks which contradict what the club tells us. I thought we had got over all that shit.
I’m fuming because we saw today that Terry hTaylor’s dead ball deliveries are a class above this division.
But on the other hand, Taylor has made his case ( he’s not 90 min match fit) and Miles has shown that he’s lost none of his best attributes. If he gets injured it will be be because a pub team defender catches him late and pretends he was going for the ball ( see Challinor-Pringle for how to do it and get away with it) . He will get sharper and the goals will come.
I’m basically in the “leave off Anderson, FFS” camp. Christ, he’s a kid, and he’s had to fly around the world to play games. Unlucky not to score today, twice. But he does have the nasty habit of playing an easy cross ball with not enough pace on it, which results in a dangerous turnover. He did it late on today, but against Bristol Rovers he did it in the first minute. That needs work.
Rant nearly over, although I would like to reiterate that Dave Challinor can go **** himself and take his pub team with him.

First half dull, too much sideways passing back and forth across the back 4 - far too pedestrian with no urgency….sloppy defending for the pen, don’t think we can have too many complaints
much better 2nd half, should’ve won at a canter
Leaburn looked a menace - should’ve had a couple and on another day would, we’ve really missed him
TT some lovely set pieces apart from one massively over hit near the end, but a definite upgrade on our usual dead balls
the less said about the ref the better - they were 10x worse than Blackpool and the ref fell for it all, the keeper collapsing in their box after the sending off in order that their whole side could go across to the manager for instructions was a particular highlight - he totally lost the plot
The Greeks almost made you wrong at Thermopylae. Let’s hope Wrexham don’t get shown the back way to our goal - through the cubicle with the broken lock in the East stand loo?
How we didn’t win that I don’t know. Great game of football to watch on our part and that’s thanks to Taylor and his set pieces. He won’t play Tuesday but I’m looking forward to playing next Saturday.
I thought we played really well today, first dominant performance and fully deserved all three points if it wasn’t for such a piss poor ref. Where do they get them from? Took an age to make the call and it was so so soft, Keeper got the ball first and their lad threw him self to the ground like he’d been shot.
Shout out to Terry Taylor today, great set pieces and loved the outside of the boot passes he played, very classy.
On another day we win that by 2 or 3. Taylor superb. We looked a completely different side once Leaburn came on and what a lovely little cameo by Dixon. I didnt think we'd see another team reach the levels of timewasting that Blackpool reached a few weeks ago but take a bow Stockport, from the 5th minute they took the piss out of the wet wipe ref and did their very best to kill the game as a spectacle. As for the ref? Think its all been said, the only decision he got right all afternoon was the sending off and that was an obvious 2nd yellow. Think the most laughable decision was when 2 of their players collided with each other in front of the west stand and dopey bollocks gives them a free kick lolThe standard of refs is getting worse in this league every week and its getting beyond a joke.

Missed today and saw the score and thought oh dear but very much buoyed by the positive reviews and sounds like we did well. Big game next weekend #7moresleeps
Yep. We’re going to be the best mid table team in the league. All I hear are excuses, excuses, excuses. We’re bang average and if you don’t believe me look at the results and league table. Simply not good enough.

PWR but saw a few twitter comments during the game and was shocked at the positivity at half time.
Frankly I thought the first half was another toilet performance with very little meaningful attacking intent or ideas. We improved a lot second half and should have won the game but it all still felt pretty incoherent to me.
I think this side could be better than they’re showing with different coaching/ system, maybe it will improve and Leaburn was a huge addition and a big threat when he came on, but I continue to struggle to see us making an impact at the top the way we’re playing. Let’s hope they pull a couple of big results out the bag this week!

There you go. This is what happens when you let a natural goal scorer depart. Regardless of circumstances we appear to be in a worst place attacking wise than before.
Leaburn didn't score any goals and didn't provide any assists, surely those are the reasons for him being in the side, so he wasn't very good then????? - mmmm??????
