Crawley said during the week that he's not bothered about his batting average for England.
Well I suggest he should be.
He currently only averages 34 which isn’t particularly good and as soon as another Engish opener performs well in county cricket his position will not be guaranteed.

Possibly the best cricket of the series in over one, followed by the worst cricket of the series in over two.  From the West Indies' point of view.

    35 for 1 off 3 overs.

Thank goodness the Hundred will soon provide some real entertainment. 😉

The fastest 50 in Test history is Misbah-ul-Haq's 21 ball effort. Duckett is currently 33 off 14 .

This is the fastest ever team Test 50 for England by 1 ball, beating Gooch & Atherton v SA.

Years ago I can remember Boycott ans Alan Butcher opening for England and bringing up a 50 partnership on the stroke of lunch.
    How times change.

Just imagine if we had 200 on the board at lunch  :)
We'll surely slow down a bit.

Motie being absent is a blow to the Windies, as he looked a threat

That my friend is an entirely different matter.
Blackpool72 referred to Crawley's Test batting average of 34 and you replied "hardly anyone averages over 40 these days".

Nice flat decks out there .  None of them likely to replace Crawley though

In fairness, if you have been looking at their averages for the last two years, you've already wasted a hell of a lot of time.

I'm casting doubt over whether that really happened.  In a gentle, joshing, not-meaning-to-be-offensive way.  I don't think they ever made a fifty partnership in Tests.
