Can't Curbs have a word with the LMA, isn't he a bigwig there?
Probably doesn't make much difference. He can still take training on Monday.2 -
Also he might have thought “I wonder if this lot would perform differently if players were playing in their actual positions” and also if they would perform better if the bloke on the touchline took his hands out of his pockets and attempted to look like he gives a fuck !ross1 said:I would be surprised if Jones has not watched some videos of our games and still interested. Probably hoping that as we have practically changed the team it could be better4 -
Never knew that RE: Contracts needing legal sign off from the LMA2

Yeah the LMA needing sign off is a new one on me too. Never seen that mentioned before at any club.
Probably means a Monday announcement now0 -
New rule, came in this morning.ForeverAddickted said:Never knew that RE: Contracts needing legal sign off from the LMA

So am I.......does that make me manager then.Scoham said:
Cawley’s confirmed Jones will be at the game.SouthLincsAddick said:I don’t know about anyone else but I’m getting very nervous about the lack of announcement. Is it done and the comms people are doing their stuff or is it because we don’t want any distractions before a crucial game, or are negotiations still ongoing and Scott is the problem (again). Someone in the know put us out of our misery.

Then let's sue him for impersonating a football manager.eastterrace6168 said:

Might be something in his Saints contract re payment / severance.ForeverAddickted said:Never knew that RE: Contracts needing legal sign off from the LMA

The LMA can’t hold any authoritative position in all of this though. Isn’t it effectively a Trade Union for managers ? Quite honestly what the effing hell has what job Nathan Jones chooses got to do with them ?4

Unlikely after 12 months have elapsed since Southampton.golfaddick said:

I could be wrong but I think contracts have to sit within LMA and PFA framework for players and managers. We probably rarely hear about it as it will just be a formalityShootersHillGuru said:The LMA can’t hold any authoritative position in all of this though. If that had been a premiership team that would be signed off …3
-
If Jones was announced today would the result go down on his stats ?? As in his contract starts today & so the match falls into the period he was employed by the club.
Can see he might not want to start with a loss on his record....😄5 -
To be fair, it’s not a bad thing! All focus needs to be on a decent performance today! The players still know they are being watched by their new gaffer anyway.4

Could also start with a win, and what a stat that would be ...golfaddick said:If Jones was announced today would the result go down on his stats ?? As in his contract starts today & so the match falls into the period he was employed by the club.

It’s quite likely but given the whole industry and all their members do it’s a bit naff really.Oggy Red said:

So how come some clubs sack a manager and appoint a new one the following day. Does that mean the LMA have signed it off before the other is sacked? Sounds rubbish to me.fenaddick said:

Again Ironic.DOUCHER said:
arghh - you were special - i'd say king of the tantrums - fluffy and u boat were like little irritating flies but you used to get all emotional as well - glad you seemed to have calmed down a bit and probably helps u seem to post less - well donecantersaddick said:
The irony of this part!!!DOUCHER said:
I’d say he contributes well to the forum - not surprised if he gets annoyed with the likes of u and similar - bumflufff or whatever his name was was another - contribute zero information and zero entertainment or interest on the board but constantly snipe away with snide comments - crack on mate if your happy with thatUboat said:
He does remind me of you actually. ITK then have a tantrum when challenged.DOUCHER said:
Ignoring him Dubai -I think he was the same with me when I was giving some info on here s few years back - ITK itis syndrome - the agitant thinks that coz u are giving info out that may be of interest to fellow fans, u r there to be shot at and generally abused when u do so - if the board were full of them, u wouldn’t bother but fortunately they are in the minority and hopefully he can get some cream for it - carry on with the info, I’m sure most appreciate it 👍Uboat said:
I do. You’re hurt because you’ve become the unofficial mouthpiece for the current regime and have taken a lot of stick as a result. Now you’ve developed this siege mentality and have to keep lashing out at your imagined enemies. There’s really no need though.DubaiCAFC said:
Not sure you do…Uboat said:
We get it. You don’t have to say it at the end of every post.DubaiCAFC said:
Agreed.. and I have been saying it for months.. things take times. But certain fans have made there minds up.. to suck on sour grapesSouthWest_Addicks said:
I feel the same. This season has been a disaster, but don’t forget Oxford only just stayed up last season. Think they picked 1 win in 20 in the back-end of last season. I’m hoping it is a case of they’ve taken a back seat for the first 6 months to allow the experience football people Scott/CM/Rodwell to show what they can do whilst learning in the background. The opposite to Sandgaard who thought it was easy. No one can argue that they’ve changed their strategy in funding this window. All Charlton fans want stability hopefully, Jones and the owners will provide this.DubaiCAFC said:Love it or not, this group mean business, and fully understand the errors so far, I truly think
this is an exciting time for us. This lot are truly behind us..However, I do appreciate all info given sincerely, even when it turns out to be wrong. Just not keen on the repetitive attacks that come with it.
Glad someone seems to have lent you the family brain cell today. At least your sentences are vaguely coherent.2 -
Haha, not an argument, just differing perspectives. I don't think Cawley actually is fed stuff by those with an agenda or anything, and "feed a line" was cynical of me.Leuth said:Rick and Paddy are arguing? Awesome. I hope it continues later
I do think that the way things are circulated means conflicting info here and there, definitely to try and suit someone or another in an ownership/SMT that has so many stakeholders.0 -
There is a possibility that after Jones seeing us play today he might change his mind.2
-
Let's hope Nathan Jones isn't at The Valley watching today.
He'll never take the job if he realises how useless we really are.

Does that mean no punch up at halftime?PaddyP17 said:
