Wonder if the money men are restructuring the SMT to give Jones the autonomy he allegedly asked for, and whether that might see Andy Scott go the way of Appleton?9

Reams still saying it’s unlikely to be Jones, so I’m expecting him to abseil down the covered end at half time on Saturday for a big announcement9

What has postcodes got to do with it ?golfaddick said:
Technically there is no South London. Postcode wise there is a South East London & a South West London.Braziliance said:Never doubted SE7 partners, not even for a second.
Jones, welcome back to, by far and away, the biggest club in South London
is there no Gravesend as their postcode is DA ?2 -
Sticking point on title. If Jones is announced as Head Coach it’s going to be eggy face time.PWADDICK said:Reams still saying it’s unlikely to be Jones, so I’m expecting him to abseil down the covered end at half time on Saturday for a big announcement1 -
Rumour has it that agents sometimes have a view.golfaddick said:
ALL sides ? How many are there ? Surely there are just 2 - CAFC and Jones.MarcusH26 said:
BOTH sides would be more apt / grammatical.
Plus of course all our owners if deal is outside a previously agreed sum.0 -
Thats not the point. I was merely saying that postcode wise there is no "South" London. Charlton is in South East London.MrOneLung said:

Get in - it’s Jones. Received a handwritten letter from Big Red Devil with this news.4

And we'll all be calling for him to be sacked after a heavy defeat at home to Derby, CBT scores a hat trick.3

But did Jones pick the Harrogate defender?
Seriously it does seem to be a serious step in the right direction.0 -
Don’t know how true it is but someone on here said he’s seriously ill and isn’t taking any jobs at the moment.peterreeves said:I wonder if Nigel Pearson is coming in after playing and Managing with our Curtis? Might be wrong but why did he come to us?0 -
Have to hope the deal is very close as would be a big dent in Cawley credibility if it doesn’t happen. Very pleased with the news.2

Reams says its off. Cawley says its close. Who to believe ?? Only one way to resolve it........

A good way to solve it is to listen to the respected local journalist (I hope)golfaddick said:Reams says its off. Cawley says its close. Who to believe ?? Only one way to resolve it........

You'd like to think these kind of advanced talks even first talks would involve sharing thoughts and opinions on both transfer targets identified by the club and players Jones may like and be aware of already.valleynick66 said:But did Jones pick the Harrogate defender?

I won't believe it until @RonnieMoore tweets about it, sorry that should read Miss Everitt.golfaddick said:Reams says its off. Cawley says its close. Who to believe ?? Only one way to resolve it........

Honestly, it's not impossible - Ramsay is 1. A fullback and 2. Has youth and potential, both things that Jones seems to value quite highly.valleynick66 said:But did Jones pick the Harrogate defender?

I'm not saying that he definitely DID have anything to do with it but it could be construed as a metaphorical "olive branch" to show his views are taken seriously and he's not expected to be kowtowing to the whims of Scott.
Or, quite possibly, I'm talking absolute shit and it's a complete coincidence. This is probably more likely

Also Alex Crook (TalkSport) and Pete O’Rourke (Sky Sports) saying the same as Cawley.golfaddick said:Reams says its off. Cawley says its close. Who to believe ?? Only one way to resolve it........

If it’s Jones, then it’s a reason to be positive. A definite step up on Garner, Holden and Appleton. We really need this appointment to work. Good signs12
-
I’m 200% certain Jones will be named.7

Cawley’s added more to his article.

Jones was on the final two man shortlist for the Millwall job.
Thought this was interesting too:Curtis Fleming took caretaker charge of Charlton’s 1-1 draw at Blackpool last weekend, assisted by Jason Pearce.
The pair are expected to still be at the helm for Saturday’s home match against Derby County.
American investors Gabriel Brener and Joshua Friedman took a more hands-on approach to the process of bringing in the new man after the short tenures of both Dean Holden and Michael Appleton.

A positive in the final sentence in the SLP report, confirmation that the money men are getting more involved, which probably explains why standards and budget have increased recently.

Yeah that line about the two main investors, effectively losing trust in their people in London, is a bit of a moment44

That is interesting.Scoham said:Cawley’s added more to his article.

Wonder if they've lost faith in Scott & He'll be off9 -
I wondered if they felt Andy Scott could be no longer be left to the bulk of the task. His stock must be pretty low at the moment.Scoham said:Cawley’s added more to his article.

I imagine they didn't want to see their multi million pound investment go down the tubes and couldn't trust what Methven was telling them anymore.ValleyBen said:A positive in the final sentence in the SLP report, confirmation that the money men are getting more involved, which probably explains why standards and budget have increased recently.4
