"No, not those players."Yes, we need to sign players, but ideally they would be good enough.Let me give you an example:
‘Sign a striker’
*Club signs Bonne*‘No. Not that one.’
What’s the problem? If it was ‘Sign ANY striker. No not that one’ you might have a point.
Most on here, like me will have never seen some of these players play, possibly never heard of them.
Because they’re not household names, they’re already shit!
If they’re shite they’re shite.
I for one won’t judge until they’ve had a good few games.
That's the issue
A bunch of unproven, inexperienced young players will not enable our own unproven, inexperienced young players to force our way into the Top 6.
That's the issue. Oh, plus we've spent about 25p and a packet of polos.....
Methven uses SPIN
I am within my rights to point out the bleeding obvious. You may be happy with getting worse season on season.
We were promised money would be spent. Boasts of "Billionaires" and a desire that CAFC only makes sense in the upper half of the Championship.
Do you think ANY of their actions add up to supporting their claims currently?
I don't.
But sit there praying for a miracle if you like.9 -
I think it looks like it could be a good window let’s wait and see if we get a striker8
-
If the business model is to do a Brentford or Brighton, and bring in youth or quality signings then cash in after a season or two, then surely we need to be BUYING top quality youth or lower league standouts. Where in the summer window has this policy been shown, that will produce the £5-6m+ needed to stay afloat / break even. How will signing on loan, other clubs youngsters help put value on our own youngsters. None of this business plan makes ecomonic sense, other than spend less than the mug before, whilst making it look like effort has been made.

We all knew Methven’s plan of slashing costs and getting promotion is laughable but it’s no loss to him if it fails, he’s already made his money from the deal. Expect more spin until a fire sale when the investors realise they’ve been had.
Louie Watson has 18+ games in the championship so a league above us.
Abankwah only has a few games under his belt but in serie A against Juventus of all teams, so he clearly has something about him.
Tanai Watson is a good established league one player and not a youngster.
Tedic was bought by Man City for 3m has 100+ senior appearances and was in the Dutch top flight only two seasons ago .
there ya go with a slight positive spin for a change.5 -

Anyone think its strange that Lyle Taylor is still around ? Not that I'd want him back but just not seen any rumours about him at all. Has he retired ?1

Bizarre situation with Dabo. Surely too good for League 23

At this point I'd welcome Lyle back.6

moutuakilla said:Very odd transfer window. Seemingly looking ambitious with the May, Taylor, Isted and Camara signings early doors and then having a complete change of game plan by signing a bunch of young loan players with mostly limited experience after a string of injuries and a woeful start to the season.
Does not fit at all with a team looking to get promoted out of the division any time soon. We aren't building a squad either as we have players like CBT and Dobson, who are out of contract next year.
Obviously will support the team and hope we can pull something out of the hat but this window has left me very unenthusiastic about our chances - the new owner bounce went flat very quickly.2 -

We've basically signed anyone mad enough to put pen to paper. Who worth their salt would really show up for an outfit with no manager?
This will be a shit show of cataclysmic proportions, even for us!4 -

I do understand people are frustrated and I’d like us to have brought in more experience. It’s fair game pointing it out but there is a few people on here that do repeat the same negative stuff constantly, which can be fucking tiresome.17
-
Let’s face it.We are manager-less in late August / early September. We have League 1 and 2 merry-go-round candidates being touted. We have a squad littered with players who have at best a few seasons at this level, kids and loanees. We have a man with, generously, a dubious record and intentions fronting the actual ownership group (whoever they are).
I admire the optimism, but not sure there is much point in being positive for positive sake. Maybe I’m wrong, and it’ll all click, but experience and logic tells me the opposite. I know we’re all desperate to see something, anything, that suggests this club is moving forward after 10 barren years, but I won’t hold my breath. Call me miserable but I feel like I’m calling a spade a spade here.8 - Sponsored links:

Why have we stopped signing players?
Why?
Why dammit?

Doesn't make sense to me this one, we spend WEEKS either with this guy or being linked to him for it to then fall through (apparently due to a medical) and then he goes to a team 20th in L2? As you say very strange indeed and doesn't say much about us.0 -
Assuming that we haven't signed Tedic before midday & that Leaburn isnt fit then that's another match tomorrow that we are going into with only 2 fit strikers.3
