My 5 year old has May on his, he wanted CBT but I said no for this reason, and that I thought they might charge by the letter..Elthamaddick said:

If the model is to sell, reinvest and repeat, I can live with that if it strengthens us and makes us challenge.Corey out, Peterborough or ipswich striker in wouldnt be a bad thing.
except we all know that it will be Corey out and a 15 year old park player coming in9 -
Unless we have a very big day today, this lot are done after just a few weeks of being owners.
9 -
Maybe CBT just wants out of this shit show ! - personally wouldnt be too disappointed as very little end product from him - feel T Campbell will be a much better winger and also defend better as well and tracks back.
3 -
If CBT does go, granted it could well be a silly Twitter rumour, and he’s replaced with some loan or unknown entity, that’s officially it for me, CBT been one of very few positives over the last two seasons.2
-
I think everyone knows if you sell someone on deadline day, even if the intention is to reinvest some or even all of the money - we would never ever have the time to do anything as this late hour.

Don’t worry, Charlie has promised his forum friends the full transfer fee will be immediately used for new players before todays 11pm deadline!BigRedEvil said:Selling CBT would be a big blow and will cause alot of anger at the new ownership.
So I fully expect it to happen1 -
Where are the fcuking better players than CBT? He is our main threat at the moment. If we bought better players in that are a bigger threat, fair enough but no, we try to lose one of the only threats we have. I have got some news for you, the window is about to close.RonnieMoore said:
Ridiculous comment .. they have been in the chair 2/3 weeks trying to sort a club out that basically been on its knees for last 8/10 years plus bringing in players in .. we stability we need the owners to have time and the new manager needs two more windows to get a squad that can hold its hands in the championship , taken Ipswich the same time to get where they are today so why do people think we should be able to do in 3 week’s ridiculous?? We need better players then CBT there a reason he in league one when you watch him to can quickly see why ..MuttleyCAFC said:
If CBT goes in this window given the current state of the squad that's me finished. Going to the Fleetwood game but that will be me done for as long as this mob are in charge.Braziliance said:If Corey goes I'll genuinely be fkn livid. That would be taking the absolute biscuit.

We all know that repeatedly beating your man is a skill yes and that an assist every other game is decent?
Plus being a man and not a boy and able to play 90 minutes is helpful too?
CBT is not one of the many problems in this squad.8 -
All those saying CBT isn't any good and we should sell for £1.5m.
Ask yourself why another team in a higher division are, supposedly, willing to pay all that money for him?
It's depressing when some fans immediately trot out the party line fed indirectly by Methvan that "this is good business","everything is ok", "it's all part of a three window plan" when it's plain to see that plan is already collapsing.

Agreed. I can't get my head around what they are playing at. Esi we're on the take, but what's in it for this lot. Scott has had high profile jobs before and will want to work again after us, what has he been told! Why pay over the odds and then do nothing? What is their planChris_from_Sidcup said:Unless we have a very big day today, this lot are done after just a few weeks of being owners.
15 hours to define the ownership
why is it always us3 -
I agree. Unless we have deals lined up ready once a sale happens, money comes in. Is that why it's being reported new players were at the training ground yesterday? that would be a sensible approach, therefore, won't happen here.DamoNorthStand said:I think everyone knows if you sell someone on deadline day, even if the intention is to reinvest some or even all of the money - we would never ever have the time to do anything as this late hour.1 -
Agree with this. But I’d like to use it to back up my point that Dobson is a league one player at best, no one ever comes in for him.Henry Irving said:All those saying CBT isn't any good and we should sell for £1.5m.

Selling CBT on deadline day would just remind me of the Andy Reid to Sunderland fiasco and I don't want that again.3

We seem to lurch from bad to worse, when will the madness end!2

Never seen Abankwah play, but I follow a couple of Twitter guys (Eire Guide & Kenny’s Kids) who keep tabs on all the Irish players. They’ve been very positive about him for quite a while and there’s a lot in his character that speaks volumes about the type of man he is. No idea if this will work out, but it’s a shame that we haven’t been tapping the Irish market for a while now. Some great kids coming through…and yes I know we also need experience and hardened pros.5

In a couple of years time yes he might be, but he isn't now and that's the issue.SwingForward said:Maybe CBT just wants out of this shit show ! - personally wouldnt be too disappointed as very little end product from him - feel T Campbell will be a much better winger and also defend better as well and tracks back.
Selling one of our best attacking outlets (if it's actually true) in the final hours of the window, when the squad is already short of numbers is a piss take and basically means they're writing off the season on 1 September.0 -

I’m not advocating for Tennai Watson I know little or nothing about the lad but a couple of things worth pointing out.He rejected a contract at MK Dons he didn’t get released and secondly MK Dons fans on Twitter are gutted.11
-
I’m hearing from a reliable source that Dobson has been told by Andy Scott that he won’t be offered a new contract when this one ends. They feel he doesn’t do enough for the team defensively apparently. Very concerning if true as I think he’s probably one of the first names on the team sheet for many of us. No doubt his eventual departure will suggest that he wanted a move and that we wanted him to stay. The opposite is true. George bloody loves playing for Charlton. Christ, he’s about the only player playing creative forward passes to the wingers. He connects brilliantly with the fans. I’ll never forget the way he applauded us for so long at Old Trafford and was easily the last player to leave the pitch. He’s not the best player we have ever had but he’s certainly making us better than we would be without him.wmcf123 said:
Icing on the cake . Let’s let Dobbo and Leaburn go too and make it the best window everCallumcafc said:I think it’s fair to say that there have been zero positives whatsoever for our beloved club since the new owners took charge. Crap results, decent human being seemingly ostracised and disposed of hastily, low level alternatives being sought evidencing low ambition, prospective managers no longer seeing CAFC as a good career decision, terrible transfer window, no fan engagement so far, no sense of direction…………….10 -
everyone’s missing the big thing about selling CBT, we’d have lost both men’s players who launched the home kit. It would be like the calendars all over again!0
-
With regards to CBT, it depends on how the next manager wants us to shape up. If we use wingbacks I’m not against the sale as long as it’s reinvested, which I don’t think it will be.1

You always told us that RD was sorting the mess out. Likewise TS.RonnieMoore said:

Are you now saying you got that wrong?1 -
I don't mind tbhCallumcafc said:It’s not Corey’s fault obviously but it does seem as if the team was set up in recent weeks to just give him the ball and pray something happens. That’s not a sustainable way to get results, as we’ve seen.Instead, we need to be playing as a team and creating chances through attacking patterns of play. Much more likely to be able to sustain a run of positive results when you’re not reliant on an inconsistent wing player.I don’t want to lose Corey by any means but at the same time it would be interesting to see how the team adapts as soon as that option to “give it to Corey” is taken away.3 -
Forgive my ignorance, but are wing backs expected to score goals? If so Tennai hasn’t.

We’d have to get a new left wing back in today though. At the moment it is just Edun and CBTPWADDICK said:With regards to CBT, it depends on how the next manager wants us to shape up. If we use wingbacks I’m not against the sale as long as it’s reinvested, which I don’t think it will be.0 -
Honestly I’d love to see 442, it’s the dinosaur formation but it would suit us, plenty of width and two forwards, we’d be exposed at the back but when aren’t we anyway!PWADDICK said:With regards to CBT, it depends on how the next manager wants us to shape up.
