Exactly this... half of this stuff starts off being born within the deepest depths of some keyboard warriors brain, they post it, someone reposts it and before long its 100% fact lolSwisdom said:charltonbob said:
WE didn't pay for May, a sponsor did apparently.sam3110 said:Nombe at £1m when we already paid for May wasn't going to happen.
Time will tell if it turns out to be a good deal for him, disappointed we decided he wasn't worth it, but pointless debating that now
I'm interested to know where this has come from.
I seem to recall people being 100% sure the previous shirt sponsor paid the £300k to Thomas Sandgaard to help him with finance the training ground renovation but, seeing as that is my father I enquired if my inheriatnce had taken a further hit and he confirmed it did not.
So be careful what you believe. These stories are often put out with an agenda in mind
100% mate reliable mate, the money for May did not come from pocket of the new owners.Henry Irving said:
Not doubting you but how reliable is your source on that @Plaaayer ?Plaaayer said:The only reason we stumped what was asked for May is because some money came in from a sponsor partner on the day that he was just about to sign for Bristol Rovers. The owners have put in the bare minimum they have to so anyone thinking we’re signing a top striker on a perm is off their heads. We’ll be relying on loans and free from hereon in I would expect unless something major changes.
Funny nobody picked up Plaaayer on this or called him a keyboard warriorcharltonbob said:
Holden coming down to the Valley to sort methven/scott out ?Been told there should be some action before Fridays deadline.
If that's how the money was made available, who was the sponsor and who owns May!?0 -
Let’s be realistic, we’re not going to sign the number and quality of players needed between now and midnight tomorrow
So the new lot have wilfully left us woefully short24 -

We are looking to appoint a manager and failing.

View on T Watson from MK Dons fan:
Watsons decent. We had him on a free from Reading and he did ok without setting the world alight. Decent on the ball and I always thought better going forward than the other way. We had Kioso competing with him two seasons ago and Kioso won that hands down. But he can cover either flank and did a decent job in a back three as well. We offered him a contract which he turned down (or if you believe the club didn't respond to..) and im staggered he's still a free agent. Saw Oxford being linked with him too

Now that is a proper rumour, random.ProperCharlton said:10 -
There's the CB signing then , made 2 appearances for Udinese , 19yr old Irish U21 international.3
-
Really excited for some fans to pretend they know how good he is.

Just spoken to my Udinese supporting mate who goes to lots of their U21 games and he said - Ciao Damo - before saying loads of stuff about this bloke I didnt understand.92
-
Andy Delort and his dad spotted at Charlton Kwik Fit.4
-
So the CB who is lined up to bring experience, quality and leadership... is a 19 year old.ProperCharlton said:
Actually, that sounds fairly plausible for this lot.21 -
I'm gonna be honest... I've never heard of him.8

Sounds promising going by his Wiki
Very random though, one of one of Scott's connections is @ Watford.
He then made his first Serie A start on 4 June, in a 0–1 league loss against Juventus, with manager Andrea Sottil stating after the match that Abankwah was one of the players that are "the future of Udinese".
Very much a Right-sided Centre-Back though.

The way things are looking at the moment , there could be a meltdown tomorrow of nuclear proportions come this time tomorrow
2 -
My Letterkenny Rovers and Cherry Orchard supporting mates said Abankwah is a great prospect and should do well in League 1.17

Di Marzio wouldn't ordinarily tweet about a loan to a random English team - let's face it, that's what we are atm - so I'm fairly certain this has some sort of traction. He's not a random anonymous teenager or anything. So, uh, yeah11
-
He must have something about him if a Serie A club plucked him out of the Irish league as a teenager.

I know a guy who is an Udinese season ticket holder, I'll be sure to get the scoop

Joking aside, no idea how good he is but unless he is a once in a generation far too good for this league talent I would have preferred someone experienced as neither Hector, Thomas or Jones look to be that leader at the back we have so sorely missed since Pearce retired.
Obviously like every player who signs though, gets my support and will hope for the best.1 -
The Spanners & QPR have picked up a few Irish youngsters in the last couple of seasons.Callumcafc said:He must have something about him if a Serie A club plucked him out of the Irish league as a teenager.0
