I’m not disappointed in not signing Dabo, but we’ve known he’s crocked for ages. Why didn’t we sign Sessegnon 2 weeks ago? He’s a better player than Watson who we will now end up withsam3110 said:"all we sign is crocks and player no-one else wants"

Damn. He looked very good against Wigan.Redvaliant said:Dabo gone, tennai Watson in the frame.2 -

Maybe we offered him a deal and he said no? Also, Sessegnon has been labelled on here by many as a crock too1 -
Agreed. Every chance that, even if we sign a previously fit and healthy player, we’ll turn them into a crock anyway, but I take a small encouragement that we might, finally, be getting away from signing players that we know have a poor injury record. I felt the same about us not bringing back Sessegnon.sam3110 said:"all we sign is crocks and player no-one else wants"

😂I actually think Asimwe has done pretty well so far this season. There was the error vs Bristol, but he was also left hopelessly exposed by his teammates. We do clearly need cover/competition at right back and left back, though.0 -
Well he played more games last season than Watson didsam3110 said:NabySarr said:

Money, Sess would’ve been more expensive.0 -
Can't see anything to say Dabo signed elsewhere?0
-
If we're looking at free agents like Tennai Watson, we might as well get Todd Kane back.6
-
So the latest rumour is a guy called Watson from MkD never heard of him but sounds a bargain for a Tennai...🙄11

Watson had one injury at the start of the season, once he came back from that he played every game for MK.NabySarr said:

Sess and Dabo, we have been told need their minutes managing and struggle to play every game, and one has failed 2 medicals with us. No use being better if you're not playing3 -
Tbf Watson is actually very good.4

He is very attacking.. have a feeling he was at the training ground todayCovered_End_Lad said:Tbf Watson is actually very good.11 -

This was posted on June 11th - lol at some of the names on there. Only one that was true was May. The rest just pie in the sky.
And fans still think we'll be bringing in 4 or 5 tomorrow & will have a competitive squad this season. Dream On.

It’s probably SMT posting the FFP rumours!SELR_addicks said:

Struggling with FFP even though the squad this year is considerably younger, less experienced than last year and less players to boot?
Anyone claiming FFP should be laughed off the forum at this point. Joke.0 -
Should be worth noting that he left MK Dons because he didnt want to sign the new Contract they were offering, rather than him being released.Covered_End_Lad said:Tbf Watson is actually very good.6 -
What was said, when and by whom at the Club? My understanding is that, if to sign a player would breach the rules, the EFL wouldn't allow them to be registered.BigDiddy said:

The EFL don't have real time FFP information do they? I mean neither so the club. Isn't FFP etc only ever applied retrospectively?swordfish said:

I thought so, then read that article I linked earlier which quoted Ashton at Ipswich saying what I've just repeated here.Cafc43v3r said:

Why have we waited around for weeks in the hope to sign a crocked player then moved on the day before the end of the window, perhaps?sam3110 said:"all we sign is crocks and player no-one else wants"

He failed a medical first time around, we gave him an extended trial he played in an unders game and we named him, so we thought he proved his fitness, and he's failed the second medical, so now we've moved on.

The easiest answer is usually the correct answer. It's called Occam's Razor.
Or is it all just a ploy to make Charlton fans think we're signing players when actually we're on an embargo that is so secret that even the EFL don't know about it2 -
And that uses a lot of the use of "assumtions" which can't be proved true, or not, until after the event.clive said:

No, just pretty obvious incompetence from a recruitment team that has failed all summer.sam3110 said:SELR_addicks said:

Exactly this... half of this stuff starts off being born within the deepest depths of some keyboard warriors brain, they post it, someone reposts it and before long its 100% fact lolSwisdom said:charltonbob said:
WE didn't pay for May, a sponsor did apparently.sam3110 said:Nombe at £1m when we already paid for May wasn't going to happen.
Time will tell if it turns out to be a good deal for him, disappointed we decided he wasn't worth it, but pointless debating that now
I'm interested to know where this has come from.
I seem to recall people being 100% sure the previous shirt sponsor paid the £300k to Thomas Sandgaard to help him with finance the training ground renovation but, seeing as that is my father I enquired if my inheriatnce had taken a further hit and he confirmed it did not.
So be careful what you believe. These stories are often put out with an agenda in mind
100% mate reliable mate, the money for May did not come from pocket of the new owners.Henry Irving said:
Not doubting you but how reliable is your source on that @Plaaayer ?Plaaayer said:The only reason we stumped what was asked for May is because some money came in from a sponsor partner on the day that he was just about to sign for Bristol Rovers. The owners have put in the bare minimum they have to so anyone thinking we’re signing a top striker on a perm is off their heads. We’ll be relying on loans and free from hereon in I would expect unless something major changes.
Funny nobody picked up Plaaayer on this or called him a keyboard warrior0
