I think Kirk is hard done by on this forum. I accept he can’t beat a player, run past one, cross, score or defend but he has the unique and undisputed quality to be able to move in slow motion.28

Oh well, all we can do is support the team and players putting the effort in.0

Just read all the posts from KO to finish 😂
While tea at the cricket as I forgot it was 1pm KO.
Charlton critics go OTT for the Win against Wealdstone. OTT on 1st half against Millwall then the seesaw goes the other way in 2nd half when Millwall get back to 2-2.
Nearly every player thrown under the bus 1st half against Aberdeen. Including Ness and Hector. Blimey Camará was the best thing since slice bread last week now he is mouldy old dough after the 1st half.
We know under JJ that 3-5-2 with wingers in the Wing back positions only work against poor opposition. To think it would work against a foreign team who qualified for Europe was a long shot.
Pleased my boy Daniel Kanu scored today in a much better 2nd half. (Score wise as I didn't see the game)
Dean Holden has big decisions to make and we are short of time getting partnerships all over the pitch.
Have the players in all day from Monday to Friday with just the Wednesday off as can't have our 3rd rubbish August on the pitch in a row. 🤷🏻♂️

I spot Methven, Rodwell, Storrie, Capaldi (and some mates?), Chuks, Leaburn Sr, Leaburn Jr and Edun… Any others?0

Charlton’s defence looked awful today - concerningly I thought that was the best part of our squad after this transfer window. Tyreece Campbell looks head and shoulders above Kirk and Holden needs a psychometric examination if he states Kirk ahead of Campbell upfront next week.

Could really do with a Kermorgant type player to play just in behind May2

I am still encouraged by that. Could have been more. Some decisions for next week's opener. I think we looked better with Thoma at the back. Anderson making it hard for Dean to leave him out. Looking forward to next Saturday.1

I know you shouldn’t overplay youngsters but Anderson is going to be tough to leave out. Not sure what else he could have done to stake his place3

It will work against the weaker teams but face anyone with a bit of quality and we'll be exposed.6
-
I think we should exploit the midfield strength in our squad, and play a 271 formation2
-
Let’s hope Edun is match fit sooner rather than later.0

Firat half display is worrying.
Hibernian lost to the Andorran champions in Europe this week to give you some idea of the level.2 -

The change of moving Ness from the left made a big difference. Not perfect defensively after that but much better and a useful learning. That is ultimately what these games are for.2

Only real two decisions for opening game. The LCB spot and who to partner May up front.Going to hope that the first half was a one in a season nightmare showing against a stronger side. There were plenty of positives in the second half. Campbell/Anderson looked class. Payne did well again. CBT looks very dangerous when he’s in the opposition box and made a great run for the goal.Probably 5 of a completed squad but for the first time there looks real sign of a promotion side.0
