Thank gawd Millwall fluffed the play offs, couldn't have faced Palace staying up, them going up and now this abomination of West Ham winning a European trophy. No matter how tin pot it is.
A hattrick of horror avoided.6 -
like Harry Kane at the monent?peterreeves said:Chuffed for Moyes and West Ham, like a few have said me and my dad enjoyed Upton park after Palace. A trophy is a trophy and many many players go a whole career without winning a thing so I can't begrudge thieir win.1 -
looking for the upside
spurs and scum fans annoyed
i'm staying in for a while
it's a minge of a trophy , oh great you get to enter the comp you nearly won last year ... big deal cnuts0 -
They’re an English club made up of decent fans, who by and large are not glory hunters like most in the Prem, and they’re having the night of their lives. Good on them I say.
Usual suspects will try and discredit it to try and get a bit of attention, but says more about them than anything.23 -
Well I'm really pleased for David Moyes.
He deserves a bit of success after what has been a great career in management.11 -
anyone who stood in the away end at upton park late eighties would have more than likely been close to receiving a coin in the head1
-
Pleased they won, but when did they start doing that cross armed irons nonsense they all seem to do?9
-
They have won something. We can’t even get a point against Fleetwood at home .7
-
You can bet if we’d won that tonight some of our fans would be claiming we’re London’s third club. So a bit rich giving them stick for celebrating winning a European trophy.9

Good for them.0

My sister’s in Florence atm and she messaged me to say they managed to find a little bar with no football on for the evening but is now about to brave the crowds and head back to the hotel.0
-
Pleased for Moyes. And I'm always pleased when a club actually priorities winning something, as opposed to their PL finishing place.
Trophies are what sport is all about. It might be a devalued trophy now, but I still loved being there to watch Kent win the 50 over competition last season for example.8 -
the papa johns conference league lol
Barcelona/Juve/Man C under 21's eyeing up next years entry haha0 -
Fair play, well deserved. The right number of European trophies is 3, and this shouldn’t be treated like a poor thing to win8
-
Delighted for Moyes.
Now tell ‘em to poke it & go to Celtic.
😜2 -
I agree. That was the beauty of the cup winners cup - you actually had to do something to qualify other than finish 7th in the league...Rothko said:Fair play, well deserved. The right number of European trophies is 3, and this shouldn’t be treated like a poor thing to win1 -
always support English teams in Europe (never understand those who don't), so well done to West Ham. An English team winning a European competition is always good for English football.
Shame about their dickhead fans though!!!6 -
It’s a shame that football is so messed up that the only clubs who can realistically challenge for “major” honours are those who spend hundreds of millions in transfer fees every year.Manic_mania said:

If you can be the best of the rest and get the Conference League, then you’re still the envy of practically every fan outside of the big 6.2 -
plenty of teams can play for major honours - the FA cup, League cup, Coppa Italia Copa del Ray etccafctom said:

it's shame they lost their meaning when you could win a place in a European competition by coming 7th.0 -

Yes and the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Man Utd can also play for domestic trophies which are effectively bought with the same outrageous sums of money - with the only importance placed on them seemingly being when they are part of a treble/quadruple attempt.Manic_mania said:

it's shame they lost their meaning when you could win a place in a European competition by coming 7th.That’s one of a number of reasons the FA/League Cups feel devalued, and have been long, long before the Conference League even existed. It’s not West Ham’s fault the game is fucked.4 -
So hypothetically if millwall or palarse got to a European final??Gravesend_Addick said:always support English teams in Europe (never understand those who don't)3 -
sorry I'm not really arguing from a place of honesty here. I just fucking hate West Ham fans - I work with so many gobby pricks that I am not looking forward to seeing tomorrow. I have heard so much crap this past week and i'm not prepared or ready for what i'm walking into tomorrow.cafctom said:

Not anymore they’re notValley11 said:Good on them. Always liked West Ham. Don’t get the dislike for them at all.
A proper club with proper fans. The Upton Park years were actually quite memorable. Apart from the journey obvs.6 -
honestly no offence to any lurking west ham fans but a bigger bunch of big time charley arseholes I have never met. I have a spotless sickness record but i'm genuinely considering it for the next six months because they are fucking unbearable3

Tbf, nowadays I find they think we're alright. A mutual dislike of the scanners.oohaahmortimer said:anyone who stood in the away end at upton park late eighties would have more than likely been close to receiving a coin in the head0 -
