No problem with letting him out on loan to get minutes and fitness. But we need someone as cover ourselvesRonnieMoore said:
Chance for him to play and get fit then we can have a proper look at himPelling1993 said:Seems very odd to ship McGrandles out unless there is a replacement lined up0 -
It’s not done - until the transfer window slams shut
would have preferred CMcG to have gone on loan with a view to permanent, but having competed with Championship sides for him, suspect that saves or frees up a fair few grand a week.1 -
He apparently is one of the highest earners according to that website.
To note, the 72 says that we are looking at letting Terrell Thomas go with clubs mentioned like Burton interested in signing him.2 -
Owen Dale if Blackpool cancel his loan with Pompey … there unhappy with the loan dealNabySarr said:Surely clearing the way for another midfielder to join?4 -
Kirk could be a different player if re united with Dale. If he wants to rejoin Blackpool a straight swop may be the answer.0
-
Think it's probably Kirk and Thomas out and new winger (whether that's Sadlier, Dale or someone else) and a CM in.0
-
Cawley pouring cold water on Dale rumour and saying Dale is happy at Pompey and not a deal he thinks is happening.0

Scully would be good.11

With McGrandles gone we could do with picking up a midfielder who knows how to put the boot in. Dobson is looking increasingly like he wants to be put down and a midfielder three made of up of a combination of Fraser, Morgan, Payne or Henry isn't going to cut it. Might be difficult to convince a team to part with a loanee who will just pop up whenever our captain needs a rest though

A Darren Pratley type (as when we signed him) would be ideal. An older midfielder who'd played at a higher level, can stick the boot it AND whose legs haven't gone (hello Ben Watson).Garrymanilow said:With McGrandles gone we could do with picking up a midfielder who knows how to put the boot in. I wouldn’t be surprised if this means we pushed harder for Tayo Edun. He’s played a lot of games in midfield and is comfortable there at this level.7

Although, it may be that Clare could play there when Dobbo is out if Sess moves to right backkillerandflash said:

I hope one of the conditions, is that McGrandles has to play against us after seeing his performances this year.13

Come on all. It's a cost cutting move. We haven't played him all season and the 'savers' have realised we can fill CM without him. Don't expected a replacement.1

McGrandles out seems sensible. If we get the player I was told about Saturday he’s slightly more advanced so wouldn’t be a like for like. Depends if we want to “force” a deal throughWe were also looking at another centre midfielder but I don’t know his name.10

After your loan deal hint I am now trying to think of midfielders with Star Wars related names.Swisdom said:McGrandles out seems sensible. A more contemporary guess - Max Power? (likely unavailable as I think he's been playing for Wigan).1

No issues with McGrandles going out. Hoping for one or two more in.0

I think McGrandles has been desperately unlucky with the niggling injuries. It’s completely ruined any consistency a player at a new club needs.Hopefully the loan works out for him and he can show what he’s about.19

Holden likes his midfield to be 1 holding player and then 2 attacking players either side like he has been playing Morgan/Payne along with Fraser. That’s how he set up at Bristol City also I believe. Would you say the player fits that mould? Definitely think we could upgrade on Morgan/Payne and hopefully get a more consistent playerSwisdom said:McGrandles out seems sensible. He’s more of a #10 but has been playing as a lone striker a bit this season and it doesn’t appear to suit him as well. So in answer to your question, he probably does fit in!NabySarr said:
