Plus a midfield general. Claydon & Morgan could fill those roles but I would prefer someone with more experience.
If you are happy with where we are at the moment then that's fine. I'm not. You might be right.....or I might be. All I would say thay its better to be ahead of the game than behind it.

In the context of signings CAFC haven't done a lot if such positivity is to be achieved.
It is fair comment.
We need a CB, LB, couple of CMs, couple of Wingers / winger and a striker IMO supplemented with blooding some youth players.
Our core squad is stronger already and we did come 7th last year. I expect us to be top 6 and hopefully top 2 and I really don't think we're a million miles away.
2 of the players we started the first game with last season are now in league 2 and one is likely to be playing for the youth team again this season. We'll sign a couple more for sure and get some good loans in so I don't see the panic.
Granted Fraser would have been a good signing but I'd rather we didn't smash our wage structure to do so. Not sure who else people have signed that you're so worried about. We will be fighting for promotion and hopefully we'll succeed.1 -

It’s drivel, because you’ve taken what they both said as exact facts, and are having a meltdown because Ipswich and Wigan have, at this time, signed more players than us. The quotes were fine to say at the time, and there’s nothing wrong with a bit of expectation. If we had signed any of the players Wigan and Ipswich have signed the flag would be flying on the good ship promotion and not one word would be said about sensible spending, last year’s accounts or the previous owners.
But because we have spent next to nothing and replaced a keeper with a keeper it’s all very sensible and justified and in Thomas we trust.20 -
I was thinking of posting something very similar earlier today, along the lines of after nearly 6 decades of supporting Charlton I feel it is safer to have low expectations and maybe just occasionally you will be pleasantly surprised. I'm one of the ones defending the management but mainly because people kicking off are out of order until the window is closed and then judgement can be made. Until then anyone that is getting stroppy is taking the piss I think3
